Chapter 115 - Chapter 115: Gilgamesh, the Master of Stalling

"Perfect timing. Since Jason defeated you, I've acquired some rather interesting cards."

Jiang You added his newly acquired cards to his deck. These cards were perfectly designed to tilt Gilgamesh's mental state. "Disobedient NPCs need to be taught a lesson," he thought. "Looks like these cards will work best against you after all!"

"What do you mean that that fool defeated This King?" Gilgamesh refused to acknowledge his defeat. "It was merely luck. If Enkidu were to respond to This King, that clown Jason wouldn't stand a chance. Or if I had drawn the Elixir of Immortality earlier, I would have crushed him instantly."

"You weren't saying that when you were dueling those ordinary Magus earlier," Jiang You pointed out.

Having played through half the script, Jiang You had already noticed that Heroic Spirits and Magus tended to draw their own cards more frequently when using a deck.

Just as Kirei Kotomine possessed Gilgamesh's card but couldn't summon him as easily as Gilgamesh himself, the Gilgamesh of the Fourth Holy Grail War had never been without Enkidu in the first turn.

"I don't think you'll be able to summon Enkidu," Jiang You said, adding insult to injury. "In your current state, even a dog has a better chance of summoning Enkidu than you do."

"You dare insult this King? And claim even a dog could become the Master of my dearest friend?" Gilgamesh roared, oblivious to the truth in Jiang You's words. He perceived this as a grave insult to both himself and Enkidu.

"Very well. 'Trash' no longer suffices to describe you. You're nothing but a disgusting insect!"

"We'll see who the insignificant insect really is!" Jiang You retorted, activating the Duel Space.

Jiang You LP: 4000

Gilgamesh LP: 4000

"This King's..."

"You've had enough first turns. As the host, my authority is absolute. This time, I'll go first!"

Jiang You decisively interrupted Gilgamesh's attempt to seize the first turn, aiming to shatter his opponent's composure.

"First, I summon Hundred Faces!"

The long-ponytail-wearing original Hundred Faces materialized, but this time she was carrying a camera. With the Hundred Faces clones on-site having been shot down by Gilgamesh, manpower was temporarily short. She stepped in to fill the gap, conveniently positioning herself to livestream the aerial battle.

"...Anyway, Hundred Faces' effect..."

Jiang You bore some responsibility for Hundred Faces' current appearance, so he suppressed his urge to comment.

"...Special Summons all cards with the same name from the Deck."

Hundred Faces: ATK 800 x 3

Morning Glory: ATK 0

"Next, I set two cards in my back row and end my turn!"

Unlike before, Jiang You didn't stack Fanatics but instead deployed his forces directly.

"Insect, where are your own cards?"

Gilgamesh was genuinely curious about the identity of the servant who possessed such a magnificent Noble Phantasm. However, Jiang You's opening move was to summon only three low-tier servants with attack power below 1000.

"You think you can use cannon fodder as meat shields against my Gate of Babylon? How naive!"

"It's my turn! Draw!"

"I activate The First Heroic Epic! I discard my entire hand—four cards in total. Therefore, I send five Equipment Cards to the Graveyard..."

A standard opening. Gilgamesh quickly summoned himself to the field and filled his back row with cards.

[Gilgamesh: Attack 3000 → 5000]

"I've been waiting for this! I flip my set Continuous Trap Card. Servants targeted by this card cannot..."

After Gilgamesh finished setting up his board, Jiang You flipped his face-down card.

"How naive! You should have used that when I first appeared!" Gilgamesh roared with laughter, astonished that the master of a Duel Noble Phantasm had so little skill.

"I'm releasing an Equip Card to destroy... Why isn't it activating?!"

"What do you think?"

The face-down card flipped open, and chains Gilgamesh knew all too well bound him tightly. "The name of the Trap Card I activated is—Chains of Heaven!"

"Chains of Heaven is unaffected by the effects of Servants below 8 stars, Gilgamesh. While you are indeed a top-tier Servant, you're still just that—top-tier. You're merely an 8-star Servant, incapable of breaking through Chains of Heaven's blockade!"

"How... how is this possible?!"

Gilgamesh wasn't surprised by his inability to break free from Chains of Heaven, but rather by how Jiang You could possess a Trap Card based on his dearest friend's power.

"This is a manifestation of my history with Enkidu! How could it possibly be in your hands?! Who exactly are you?!"

"Just an ordinary Duelist passing by."

Nearly everyone had wondered about Jiang You's identity, and he was starting to get used to it, even playing along with the joke.

"As for why I have it? I'm still figuring that out myself. Perhaps Enkidu himself disapproves of the current you?"

"What nonsense are you spouting, you insect!"

Gilgamesh refused to believe Enkidu would betray him to aid his enemies. Yet a flicker of unease crept into his heart, and his next words carried a hint of self-reassurance: "Stop trying to sow discord here!"

"Then why isn't Enkidu responding to you?" Jiang You pressed, pinpointing the core issue. "You know, in other timelines, Enkidu would come running at your call."

"Now that your backline is blocked, tell me, Mr. Two-Thirds God, One-Third Human Hybrid—how exactly did you achieve this bloodline ratio?"

Jiang You had long wanted to mock Gilgamesh's absurd lineage, which defied all genetic logic. But knowing the answer would likely be "divine power," he returned to the Duel: "Do you have any other servants you can normally summon? Kirei Kotomine, Tokiomi Tohsaka, perhaps... or even Siduri?"

Gilgamesh remained silent, staring at his hand without making a move. It was clear he held no cards capable of being Normal Summoned.

"Then I'll begin my turn," Jiang You declared, ending Gilgamesh's turn and taking control. "It's my turn! Draw!"

"First, I activate my face-down card, Information Gathering! This negates and destroys Dawn of Destruction!"

"Since it's destined to leave the field anyway, this King will sacrifice it himself!" Gilgamesh activated Dawn of Destruction's effect to negate a spell or Trap Card once. Dawn of Destruction was sacrificed before it could be destroyed.

[ Gilgamesh ] ATK: 5000 → 4500

Jiang You LP: 4000 → 3500

"Good riddance to that nuisance!" Jiang You grinned, holding up a card. "Do you know why I cleared a space?"

Gilgamesh's pupils constricted rapidly as he recognized the card in Jiang You's hand—a card he knew all too well.

"Of course, it's because you're such a pain in the ass! You Mongrel!"
