Chapter 19 - Chapter 19 : Emergency call! Iron Overlord!

"Damn it! Why is the other side so slippery? They can even dodge bullets!" Obadaiya snarled in frustration.

A powerful force suddenly struck the back of the Iron Overlord, sending the massive machine crashing to the ground.

"Hey! Did the little wizard miss me?" Tony Stark's voice cut through the air, teasing.

He soared through the night sky in his brand new, sleek steel armor, cutting a brilliant silver arc as he landed gracefully between Lin Mei and Obadaiya. The armor's surface gleamed with high-tech lighting, clearly upgraded yet again.

"Yeah, yeah! Did you manage to survive at Stark Manor a little longer?" Lin Mei shot back, mocking him.

"Kang Bin! How is it that your mouth still hasn't been shut?" Tony's voice was sharp with irritation, clearly remembering how close he came to death at Stark Manor.

Seeing Tony's appearance, Obadaiya's expression darkened. He hadn't expected the tech genius to show up at this critical moment. He quickly composed himself, stabilizing his stance before aiming the machine gun at Tony and Lin Mei once more.

"You two are going to die here today!" Obadaiya bellowed, launching another round of attacks.

"I'll handle this big guy and the bastard inside. You focus on saving Mom and Little Chili," Lin Mei declared, unwilling to face the Iron Overlord head-on, especially considering its deadly firepower.

With that, Lin Mei turned and sprinted toward the car.

Tony Stark, left with the Iron Overlord, muttered to himself, preparing for a long and difficult fight.

Bang! Bang! Bang! The sound of rapid gunfire echoed as Colson continued leading the escape with Melissa and Little Pepper.

Inside the bulletproof car, Melissa stared out the window, her gaze fixed on Lin Mei in the distance.

"Is that really my son?" she murmured, her voice laced with confusion.

Years had passed since she last saw Lin Mei, and she only knew he possessed some form of mutation. What she didn't know was how vast his powers had become. While the mutant Professor Charles had classified Lin Mei as a Delta-level, Melissa always felt her son was different from others.

Despite her concerns, Melissa remained calm—Lin Mei had always been strong, and the Lin family was well known for its resilience.

Meanwhile, Lin Mei, after tossing the Iron Overlord to Tony Stark, swiftly eliminated the remaining members of the Ten Rings.

"Madness! I can't believe the U.S. lets the Ten Rings operate so freely. Isn't anyone in charge?" Lin Mei fumed, frustration building.

The wind element beneath his feet swirled, propelling him forward as he sped toward the car. He was still some distance from the Ten Rings vehicles, but he was closing in fast.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Gunfire continued as the three cars, packed with twelve terrorists, chased after Melissa, Little Pepper, and the others.

"The Ten Rings are ruthless, even here in the U.S.," Lin Mei muttered, his thoughts racing.

The Ten Rings had maintained power for so long because of their strict, efficient structure. Each branch operated independently, like parts of a whole, making it nearly impossible to dismantle them. Even if one branch was compromised, the others would continue without missing a beat.

Lin Mei felt a surge of anger but knew his priority was protecting his mother. Taking a deep breath, he urged the wind beneath his feet to intensify. The pressure built, and his speed skyrocketed, closing the gap between him and the terrorists ahead.

I have to catch up—these bastards can't hurt my mom! Lin Mei swore under his breath, his focus sharpening as he readied himself for action.

Suddenly, one of the Ten Rings vehicles shot forward, noticing Lin Mei gaining on them. They accelerated in an attempt to shake him off.

Lin Mei quickly assessed the situation and extended his hands, sending a wave of wind pressure crashing into the back of the vehicle. The car was sent skidding across the ground, sparks flying as it overturned.

"What?!" The terrorists inside screamed, panic flooding them. Before they could even react, Lin Mei appeared beside them, like a shadow, and threw a powerful lightning-infused thunderball through the shattered window. The car was immediately filled with crackling electricity, and the terrorists were taken out one by one.

"Lin Mei, here!" Colson's voice shouted from another car.

In an instant, Lin Mei whipped around, using the wind to catapult himself toward Colson's vehicle.

He landed effortlessly on top of the car, ripped off the roof with a swipe of his hand, and took in the chaotic scene inside. The sight of his glowing vertical pupils and dragon scales struck terror into the remaining terrorists.

"Sir, you really should fasten your seat belt! Too bad you won't need to anymore!" Lin Mei quipped, his tone surprisingly playful even in such a tense moment.

"Mr. Lin! Help!" Colson yelled, his voice strained as a terrorist closed in on him.

Lin Mei wasted no time, tossing the terrorists out of the car with brutal efficiency. At the speed they were traveling, hitting the ground would be certain death.

"Save it! Thanks, Mr. Lin Mei!" Colson gasped, catching his breath and offering his thanks.

Lin Mei only nodded in response, his focus unwavering as he kept his eyes on the road ahead, ready for whatever came next.

To prevent the vehicle from losing control, Colson quickly climbed into the driver's seat with practiced agility.

"Don't relax," Lin Mei said calmly, his gaze scanning the surroundings. "My mother and the others are still up ahead."

Lin Mei had been using a great deal of wind element magic to keep himself airborne, matching the speed of the car. He knew he couldn't board it, and frankly, he didn't want to. The side effects of riding in a vehicle were something he hadn't forgotten.

Meanwhile, the battle between Tony Stark and the Iron Overlord had reached a critical point. Stark's upgraded steel armor was put to the test, with a high-energy beam shooting from his chest as he exchanged fire with the Iron Overlord's machine guns.

"Obadaiya, your end is near!" Tony's voice rang out, filled with determination and anger.

But the situation was far from ideal. The arc reactor in his chest—the one he had picked up in Afghanistan—was running low on energy. It couldn't support the battle for much longer.

The Iron Overlord, a hulking beast of a machine, had heavy defenses, and Tony began to worry he wouldn't be able to take it down in time.

"It would be great if the little wizard were here," Tony muttered to himself. "Maybe then I could relax a bit."

His words, though quiet, betrayed his frustration with Lin Mei for tossing the Iron Overlord his way to deal with.

"Tony," Obadaiya's mocking voice cut through the chaos, full of derision. "You always think your high-tech toys can save you, but you're fooling yourself. You can't defeat me with that nonsense."
