"And Jenny?" she asked, needing to hear the truth.
Lily's smile widened. "That was easy. A girl like her, working overtime for a sick brother? You just had to dangle the right bait."
"Her brother…" Melisa murmured. "You dragged a child into a casino scam just to blackmail her?"
"No child," Lily said casually. "Teenagers are surprisingly easy to corrupt when they think they're chasing luck. He walked in on his own. We just gave him a little push."
Melisa's heart ached for Jenny, but her fury burned hotter.
"You're disgusting."
"Maybe," Lily said with a shrug. "But I'm also thorough. And while everyone's too busy questioning your loyalty, the real operation will unfold right under their noses."
A commotion interrupted them—a loud thump outside, followed by shouting. Lily's eyes darted toward the door.
"What is it now?" she snapped at one of the guards.
Before the man could answer, the warehouse doors burst open.
A shadowed figure stepped inside.
