Chapter 68 - Yang Chen's domineering debt repayment shook the audience

Hearing Yang Chen's words, everyone burst into laughter.

The bald man doubled over with laughter before finally stopping, his eyes filled with amusement. "Kid, you're not some rich young master from a wealthy family, are you?"

Having just heard Yang Chen call Qin Dayong "Dad," the bald man naturally didn't take Yang Chen seriously as someone important.

"Brother Qiang, how could he possibly be a rich young master? He's just a useless live-in son-in-law in Qin Dayong's family. You could pretty much call him an idiot," Fang Yue sneered from the side, her voice dripping with scorn.

Yang Chen's sharp gaze instantly locked onto Fang Yue. With just one look, she felt as if she had fallen into an abyss. A shiver ran through her body, and she quickly hid behind Yang Wei.

Yang Wei chuckled coldly. "Trash will always be trash. Never seen the world, daring to say anything. For the number one beauty of Jiangzhou to marry a waste like you is nothing short of an insult."

"Now that you mention it, I remember something," the bald man said mockingly. "That woman known as Jiangzhou's number one beauty CEO—I think her surname is Qin, right? Rumor has it that five years ago, she was defiled by a security guard and then married him. That security guard wouldn't be you, would it?"

"Brother Qiang, you're absolutely right. That woman is Qin Dayong's daughter, Qin Xi. But she's just a cheap woman with a bit of looks—how does she deserve the title of number one beauty?" Fang Yue added with a spiteful laugh.

Yang Chen's eyes flashed with a cold glint. "Slap her!"

*Slap!*

As soon as he spoke, a black figure suddenly appeared beside Fang Yue. Before anyone could react, a loud slap echoed through the room.

Everyone turned in shock to see a young man standing next to Fang Yue, who had just been sent flying by the force of the blow.

The scene stunned the entire room!

After striking Fang Yue, the young man calmly walked back to stand behind Yang Chen, silent as a shadow, waiting for his next command.

This young man was none other than Ma Chao, Yang Chen's most loyal subordinate and inseparable brother.

Yang Wei's face darkened. He hadn't even noticed how Ma Chao had appeared beside Fang Yue.

Though he had no real feelings for Fang Yue, she was still his woman. To have her slapped in public like this was a direct insult to him.

"Do you know who I am? How dare you hit my woman!" Yang Wei narrowed his eyes at Ma Chao.

But to his further humiliation, Ma Chao didn't even glance his way.

"If I hear anyone insult my wife again, a slap will be the least of their worries," Yang Chen said coldly, his gaze sweeping over Yang Wei. The temperature in the room seemed to drop several degrees.

His eyes then returned to the bald man. "Now, let's talk about you hitting my dad."

The bald man's eyes narrowed slightly, a flicker of unease in his heart.

In all his years at the Nightless City, he had never met a young man like Yang Chen—someone he couldn't read.

Though Yang Chen appeared calm, the bald man could sense the fury simmering beneath the surface.

And the powerfully built young man standing behind Yang Chen only deepened his unease.

When he first heard Yang Chen had come to bail him out, Qin Dayong had been thrilled. But now, seeing Yang Chen demand an explanation from the bald man, he was terrified.

"Yang Chen, shut the hell up!" Qin Dayong roared. "Just pay the money and let's go! If Brother Qiang hit me, I deserved it. How dare you ask him for an explanation?"

Yang Chen ignored him, his eyes fixed on the bald man, waiting for his response.

"Kid, you really think you can walk into the Nightless City and make demands?" The bald man's anger flared. This was his territory. If he let Yang Chen walk away without consequence, how could he maintain his reputation?

"Yes, I demand an explanation," Yang Chen replied firmly.

"You bastard! Shut your mouth!" Qin Dayong was livid. "If you want to die, don't drag me down with you!"

He lunged at Yang Chen, but Ma Chao intercepted him, gripping his wrist.

"Take my dad home first," Yang Chen ordered.

"Yes, Brother Chen!" Ma Chao replied, pulling Qin Dayong away.

Qin Dayong, eager to escape, didn't resist.

"You think the Nightless City is a damn marketplace? Come and go as you please?" The bald man's fury erupted. "Stop them!"

At his command, over a dozen burly men rushed forward.

What happened next stunned everyone. Ma Chao didn't break stride, holding Qin Dayong with one hand and throwing punches with the other. Every man who charged at him was knocked to the ground with a single blow.

By the time Ma Chao and Qin Dayong reached the elevator, all the men lay motionless on the floor.

The bald man's heart pounded. One punch had taken down his strongest men. Was this even human?

His gaze shifted uneasily to Yang Chen. That terrifying fighter seemed to obey this young man without question.

"Who the hell are you?" the bald man gritted out.

Yang Chen replied coolly, "You already know."

"Brother Qiang, this bastard is just a useless son-in-law putting on an act. Don't let him fool you," Fang Yue spat venomously, her left cheek swollen and bleeding.

The bald man wasn't having it. He turned on her and snarled, "Shut the fuck up! One more word, and I'll end you."

Fang Yue nearly wet herself and clamped her mouth shut, though her eyes burned with hatred for Yang Chen.

Yang Wei frowned. Though his pride was wounded, he knew better than to speak up. In Zhou City, he might be someone, but here in Jiangzhou, no one would give him face.

"Kid, this is my turf. Rules are rules. Your father-in-law owed money and didn't pay for a week. I could've crippled him, but I didn't. That's mercy. Don't push your luck. Pay up and leave, and I'll let today slide," the bald man said, his tone softening slightly.

The crowd was stunned. Since when did the infamous Bald Qiang compromise?

"Debts must be paid. That's only right. Don't worry—the money's on its way," Yang Chen said with a cold smile.

"Your father-in-law still owes me a million," Yang Wei interjected.

Yang Chen shot him a disdainful look. "Patience. What's owed will be paid."

Just then, the elevator doors opened, and a black man walked in.

Under everyone's watchful eyes, he approached Yang Chen and bowed slightly. "Brother Chen, the money's ready."

Yang Chen nodded, then turned back to the bald man. "Last chance. Are you sure you won't give me an explanation?"

"Kid, don't overstep. If the money's here, pay up and get out," the bald man snapped, though Yang Chen's calm demeanor unnerved him.

Yang Chen gave Samba a look. Understanding, Samba made a call. "Bring the money in!"

*Boom!*

The moment Samba hung up, a deafening crash shook the Nightless City, followed by the clanging of metal and a chorus of screams.

"What the hell was that?" The bald man paled. That sound was unmistakably a massive collision.

Yang Chen smirked and walked to the glass railing, looking down at the first floor. "Relax. Just paying the debt."

Everyone rushed to the railing. What they saw left them gaping.

A truck had plowed into the first-floor lobby, its cargo bed tilted, dumping countless one-yuan coins onto the marble floor.

In an instant, the entire first floor was covered in a sea of gleaming metal.
