Chapter 49 - A Breakthrough in Medicine and a Rift Between Siblings

Yang Mo scoffed, his voice dripping with disdain. "I hooked up with Lingy Luo for money? I stole Li Xia's jewelry for money? I returned to the Lynn family for money? Is that all you think I am? Are you satisfied now? Satisfied enough to leave me alone?"

Seeing Yang Mo quicken his pace to leave, Lin Shing hurried after him once again. "Yang Mo, brother, don't be stubborn. I'm only saying this because I don't want to see you suffer. The Ling family is already facing bankruptcy—you'll have no future if you stay with her. You need to think about yourself. Come back to the Lynn family. It's the best choice for you. With our family's wealth and influence, your future is limitless."

Yang Mo halted. Lin Shing saw her chance and pressed on eagerly. "If you return as the young master of the Lynn family, Father will publicly announce your identity. You can have anything you want. Famous families in Jinghai City will be at your feet. You'll be able to choose your own path and live without worry!"

Yang Mo turned around, his piercing gaze making Lin Shing freeze. "I really don't understand how the Lynn family raised you. Is money and power all that matters to you? Do you not see anything beyond status and wealth? It's honestly shameful."

Without waiting for a response, he turned and walked away, his steps quick and resolute. Lin Shing remained rooted in place, unable to comprehend his rejection. In her eyes, she had done nothing wrong. She was thinking of his future, guiding him toward a life of privilege and success. Why couldn't he understand that?

She had been raised to believe that connections mattered above all else. The Lynn family only associated with those of equal status. The poor and struggling were beneath them. This was the world she knew. It was only natural for her to assume Yang Mo should embrace the same principles. But she had never stopped to consider what he truly wanted.

Lost in thought, she was startled by the sudden ringing of her phone. Snapping out of her daze, she answered.

"Shing, are you still at the hospital? Hurry to the company lab!" The voice on the other end was filled with excitement. It was Lin Jindong, her father. "We've finally succeeded! The last ingredient for the trauma cream has been perfected."

Lin Shing's heart skipped a beat. "Dad, are you serious?"

"Of course! Hurry back. We're preparing for the final experiment."

Hanging up, Lin Shing's mind raced with excitement. If the trauma cream was truly completed, it would be a revolutionary breakthrough in the medical field. The Lynn family would rise to even greater heights, and their pharmaceutical empire would expand beyond anything they had imagined. Their company could go public, multiplying its value dozens of times over.

Determined, she rushed to her car and drove to the Lynn Pharmaceuticals headquarters. Flashing her access card, she swiftly entered the underground research facility—one of the family's best-kept secrets. Over the years, they had poured immense resources into this lab, hiring renowned medical experts to work on high-priority projects, including the trauma cream. Now, after years of research and tens of millions in funding, it was finally coming to fruition.

As she stepped into the lab, she saw her father, Lin Jindong, surrounded by researchers clad in white coats. They stood around a table, holding a glass test tube filled with a thick, black substance.

"Come, come! Take a look!" her father called out excitedly.

Lin Shing approached and peered at the dark, pasty liquid inside the tube. "This is the trauma cream? It doesn't look like much."

Her father chuckled. "Don't underestimate it. We just completed testing, and the results surpass anything currently on the market. The composition matches the formula recorded in the ancient texts. We estimate that it's 80% accurate to the original."

Lin Shing's eyes gleamed. "Then we need to start biological testing immediately. If it works as expected, this will be a game-changer!"

"Exactly!" Lin Jindong nodded, his face flushed with excitement. "I've already sent someone to retrieve the lab mice. They should be here any moment."

Years of hard work were finally paying off. Developing this trauma cream had been a long and arduous journey. The Lynn family had invested heavily, sparing no expense to uncover the ancient formula's secrets. Now, they were on the brink of success.

A researcher entered the lab, carrying a cage filled with test mice. "Mr. Lin, the specimens are ready. What are your instructions?"

"First, make a small incision on one of the mice. Apply the trauma cream and observe the effects. Time the healing process and document any changes."

"Understood."

The researcher carefully extracted one of the mice and, using a sterilized scalpel, made a precise cut on its leg. The tiny creature squealed in pain, thrashing against the handler's grip.

"Quickly, apply the trauma cream!" Lin Jindong ordered.

The researcher spread a thin layer of the dark paste over the wound, then gently placed the mouse back into its cage, setting it under multiple surveillance cameras. Everyone in the lab held their breath, their eyes locked on the small creature. The next few hours would determine the fate of their research—and the future of the Lynn family.

Lin Jindong let out a deep breath, filled with anticipation. "Now, we wait."
