Chapter 69 - The Reckoning on Downtown Street

After hanging up the phone, Green Hair smirked with newfound confidence. Le Dagger was not like their small-time gang; he was a real triad member. When he said he'd handle things, he meant it. Even if something went wrong, Le Dagger had connections to get him out of the police station in no time. With his arrival, Green Hair was sure everything would go their way.

"Kid, you heard that, didn't you? My big brother is on his way. Now, I'm giving you one last chance—kneel down and kowtow to my brothers, and we'll let this go," Green Hair sneered, his arrogance swelling.

Yang Mo, however, was unfazed. Le Dagger… could it be the same guy I beat up last time? he thought. Even if it was, it didn't matter. Yang Mo wasn't afraid. He might look thin, but he had strength. Before, when he needed money to eat, he worked at construction sites, carrying bricks. And besides, he had already secretly called the police. They should be arriving soon. There was no need to panic.

"Oh? Then let me give you a chance as well," Yang Mo said calmly. "Now, kneel down and apologize to us, then compensate us for our losses, and we'll let this matter go."

Green Hair blinked in disbelief before bursting into laughter. "Did I hear you right? You're really looking for death, aren't you?" He pointed at Yang Mo and spat on the ground. "Originally, I was gonna let you pay up and be done with it, but since you clearly don't know what's good for you, I'll make sure you never open shop here again!"

Ishu, standing behind Yang Mo, looked at the gangsters in disgust. "You're all nothing but hooligans," she snapped.

"Hey, hey, little sister, don't be so mean," one of the thugs chuckled. "Why don't you come with us? We'll show you a good time."

"Get lost," Yang Mo said flatly. "It's fine. They won't be laughing much longer."

A few minutes later, the sound of a motorcycle roaring through the street signaled Le Dagger's arrival. A furious voice rang out as he dismounted. "Green Hair, you better not be messing with me! Where's my money? If you don't pay up today, don't blame me for teaching you a lesson!"

At the sound of his voice, Green Hair brightened up. Finally, his reinforcements had arrived. He quickly pulled out a cigarette and ran up to Le Dagger, lighting it for him like a devoted follower.

"Big Brother, you're finally here! I was just about to collect the money to bring to you, but this brat refuses to pay," Green Hair explained, gesturing toward Yang Mo.

Le Dagger took a long drag from his cigarette, exhaling slowly. "Oh? I'd like to see which fool dared to cross my little brother—" He turned his head, locking eyes with Yang Mo. Instantly, his heart dropped.

Him? Again?!

The last time they met, Le Dagger had been caught harassing a student at the school gate. Yang Mo had beaten him within an inch of his life. He still bore the scars—deep cuts on his arms and stomach, painful reminders of the encounter. The memory alone made him shudder.

Green Hair, oblivious to his boss's reaction, continued his taunts. "Kid, it's too late for regrets. Get on your knees and kowtow!"

Without warning, a loud smack echoed through the street. A bright red handprint blossomed across Green Hair's cheek as he stumbled backward in shock.

"Wha—Big Brother… why did you hit me?" he stammered, clutching his face.

Le Dagger's voice trembled. "I told you to kowtow."

Green Hair blinked. "Huh?"

"I said, get on your knees, now!" Le Dagger barked, his face pale.

Confusion morphed into horror as Green Hair finally processed the situation. "B-Big Brother, do you know who this kid is?"

Le Dagger scoffed. "Do you? You don't listen, do you? Was your stay in the hospital last time too short? Are you that eager to go back?"

The surrounding crowd murmured in astonishment, their eyes darting between Yang Mo and Le Dagger. It was clear now—this wasn't just any street fight. This was a reckoning.
