**

Black Rock City at night remained lively.

It wasn't until close to midnight that the commotion gradually faded.

In the southern part of the city, nestled in a secluded corner, stood a peculiar-looking building.

This was Gu Te's residence in Black Rock City.

Hidden in the shadows, two figures draped in black robes blended into the darkness, their gazes locked onto the strange-looking building ahead.

These two were Wei Yang and Ye Xian'er.

At this moment, Wei Yang lifted his head, glancing at the moon, which was beginning to tilt toward the horizon. He then listened carefully, noting that the streets were gradually growing quieter.

"It's time." Wei Yang spoke, turning to look at Ye Xian'er.

Beneath her cloak, Xian'er gave a slight nod. With a flick of her wrist, she produced a small jade bottle.

Seeing this, Wei Yang instinctively took a step back.

Not because he was afraid of Xian'er, but because he was afraid of what she was holding.

Xian'er tilted her head slightly and shot him a look—she might have even rolled her eyes at him.

Wei Yang could only give an awkward smile, flashing a row of white teeth in the darkness.

With a soft hmph, Xian'er opened the bottle's lid.

Immediately, something invisible seemed to drift out, though to the naked eye, nothing could be seen in the darkness.

In reality, the substance escaping the bottle was a faintly colored mist—so faint that it was nearly imperceptible. It was a special formula that Xian'er had prepared specifically for tonight's operation.

She circulated her Dou Qi, guiding the delicate mist from the bottle as it silently floated toward the peculiar building ahead.

Without making a sound, it seeped through the gaps in the windows and door cracks, infiltrating the interior without a trace.

Moments later, Xian'er sealed the jade bottle and whispered, "Brother Yang, it's done."

Wei Yang stepped closer and asked in a hushed voice, "Xian'er, are you sure this will work? That guy isn't just a Da Dou Shi—he's also a Tier 3 alchemist. If we can't knock him out silently, and he makes even the slightest commotion, we'll have to make a run for it."

Xian'er reassured him softly, "Don't worry, Brother Yang. This mist is completely colorless and odorless. Once it disperses into the air, it will enter his body through his breathing, and he won't notice a thing before he falls asleep."

Wei Yang nodded in approval, finally putting his mind at ease.

This was the terrifying power of a Poison Master.

Especially an owner of the Woeful Poison Body.

Against an ordinary Da Dou Shi and Tier 3 alchemist, her poison should work flawlessly.

And this was precisely why Poison Masters were feared and despised.

Why did Wei Yang instinctively step back when Xian'er took out the jade bottle?

Because Xian'er was now a Nine-Star Da Dou Shi, and the poisons she concocted were already strong enough to pose a threat to him. His body reacted out of instinct—a natural survival response.

After all, the last thing he wanted was to fall victim to the mist himself before the mission even started.

That would be a spectacularly humiliating failure.

"Xian'er, when do we go in?" Wei Yang asked.

Beneath her cloak, Xian'er shook her head and whispered, "We still need to wait a bit. The mist takes time to fully disperse before it naturally fades away."

Her tone carried a hint of amusement. Clearly, she was in a very good mood. "Before it evaporates, if you charge in recklessly, you'll end up poisoned too."

Wei Yang rubbed his nose and fell silent.

This little girl… Now that her strength was catching up, she was getting cocky.

"Hehe." Xian'er giggled, clearly pleased with herself.

Wei Yang turned away and pretended not to hear her, shifting his gaze back to the peculiar building.

For some reason, an indescribable emotion crept into his heart.

His little Xian'er had grown up.

She was about to step out from under his wing and stand on her own.

He felt proud, satisfied, and happy—yet at the same time, a little… lost.

The Woeful Poison Body was truly a cheat.

She was growing way too fast!

His sense of achievement from nurturing her had diminished drastically.

In the blink of an eye, she was about to reach Dou Ling.

It wouldn't be long before she caught up to him, and eventually surpassed him.

Talent? In the face of a physique like hers, it was practically meaningless.

Wei Yang even felt a strange sense of relief, chuckling at himself—thank goodness he hadn't met Qing Lin before this.

Otherwise, wouldn't he have to endure a double dose of humiliation in the future?

Getting outshined by not just one but two younger girls?

Though… the idea of clinging onto their thighs and enjoying the easy life wasn't exactly unacceptable…

After waiting quietly for a while, Ye Xian'er finally tugged at Wei Yang's sleeve and said,"Brother Yang, we can go in now."

Wei Yang took a deep breath, shaking off the messy thoughts in his mind. Grasping Xian'er's small hand, he said, "Let's go."

The two of them stealthily approached the building, where Wei Yang whispered, "Xian'er, be careful when we get inside. I've heard this guy likes setting up all kinds of weird traps in his place."

"Mhm." Xian'er nodded seriously.

Wei Yang unleashed his soul power, threading it through the door's crevices, and unlatched the bolt from inside.

With a soft push, the door creaked open.

But before they could step in—

A violent gust of force surged forth, carrying a dense cloud of black powder, exploding out of the pitch-dark room!

The unexpected ambush made both of them instinctively retreat a few steps, their expressions turning serious.

Just as the black powder was about to burst out of the doorway—

Wei Yang raised his hand.

But before he could act, Xian'er stepped forward instead.

"Brother Yang, let me handle this."

With a casual wave of her palm, a powerful suction force radiated from her hand.

In an instant, the cloud of black powder, which had been raging toward them like a tidal wave, was completely drawn into her palm, rapidly condensing into a small black sphere.

Xian'er lowered her gaze, bringing the sphere of black powder close to her nose for a sniff. Then, without hesitation, she pulled out a small jade bottle, sealed the substance inside, and stored it away.

"Brother Yang," she explained, "this black powder isn't lethal, but if it touches your skin, it'll make you itch like crazy."

Wei Yang muttered under his breath, "Tch, that old bastard really is a freak."

They hadn't even stepped inside yet, and the guy had already given them a taste of his paranoia.

"Hmph." Wei Yang snorted and took a step forward, his powerful soul force sweeping through the interior.

A few soft clicks and snaps echoed from within before he retracted his soul power.

"Let's go. I've already disabled all the traps inside." Wei Yang smirked.

So this old man liked playing tricks with hidden traps?

Too bad. Now it was his turn to get outplayed.

Pulling Xian'er along, he stepped into the house.

Inside, the place was a complete disaster.

Filthy, cluttered with junk, practically a garbage dump.

A damp, musty stench lingered in the air, making both of them instinctively wrinkle their noses and hold their breath.

With a wave of his hand, Wei Yang silently closed the door behind them, bolting it shut.

His gaze swept over the chaotic mess, and he shook his head.

"What a slob. Let's go."

Carefully avoiding piles of trash, the two of them navigated through the disorderly room.

Step by step, they ascended a set of rickety wooden stairs, which looked one step away from collapsing.

Along the way, Wei Yang used his soul power to disable any hidden traps in their path before they could be triggered.

Finally, after making their way up, they reached the top floor.

At the end of the dimly lit corridor, a wooden door stood quietly.

"We're here."

The room beyond was dead silent.

Wei Yang grinned, took Xian'er's hand, and stepped forward.
