Hello, everyone. My name is Katherine, and my friends call me Kat. My childhood sweetheart, Zoro, yes, as in the Pirate Hunter turned pirate, calls me his Pretty Kitty. I must admit that our friends can't stand it all these years later. I would like to take you back to how we met.
At 10, I was heading home when I ran into a green-haired boy with blue eyes about the same age. I held out my hand to help him up. "I'm sorry for that. I wasn't looking where I was going." My face started to turn red just looking at him. What is this feeling that I'm feeling? He's actually kind of cute.
The boy smiled and took my hand. "It's alright. What's your name? I'm Rorono Zoro. But everyone calls me Zoro." In that moment, I felt like something about either his gaze or his demeanor was oddly comforting. His eyes were just hypnotizing to look at.
I turned my head away for a moment, unable to speak. "M..my name is Katherine, but you can call me Kat. I have to go, sorry." I ran the other way, not wanting him to know that I had gotten a crush on him.
Zoro ran after me. "Hey, Kat, wait!" Where is she going? She's cute, I wonder if I'll see her again. He thought.
I got home and ran past my parents into my room, closing the door. I took my pillow and started giggling into it. I had met the boy I would spend the rest of my life with. A few hours later, my mother knocked on my door.
My mother had brown eyes and brown hair. She wore a green dress with flowers on it, and her hair was up in a long braid. "Kat, is everything ok?"
I nodded. "Yes, mother. I ran into this boy. His name is Zoro, he's super cute."
My mother laughed. "Has my daughter found her prince charming at such an early age? I think this is just a child's crush, honey. You'll get over it. Now help with lunch."
I looked away from her. It might be a crush now, but I know what I feel is real.
My mother brushed my hair out of my face. "I'm teasing you, honey."
I giggled and stood on my bed. "One day, Mother, we'll grow up strong and sail the world."
"Now, that would be something. Let's head into the kitchen to make lunch."
I nod. "Yes, mother." I followed her into the kitchen to help her with lunch. My father came home later to eat with us. While helping my mother with lunch, all I could think about was Zoro. Although I was just a kid, he had a personality that was calming.
My father also had brown hair and blue eyes. He worked as the town's doctor. I sat down next to him. "Father, do you think that one day, you could take me to work with you? I want to learn how to be a doctor like you."
My father laughed. "Daughter, you are too young at the time to be a doctor. You have big dreams, Kat. I encourage you to have big dreams. You can do anything, set your ideas too."
I smiled. "Yes, sir." I finished lunch and headed out to play with my friends.
My mother looked at my father. "Honestly, William, I can't stand it when you bring our daughter books on weapons."
"Come now, Sasha. You know as well as I do that she has a gift for weaponry."
A few days later, I made my way to the local school to learn about swords and how to use them. Once I got prepared to take my stance against another student, I heard a familiar shout. I looked up and saw that it was Zoro. Is he learning how to be a swordsman too? I turned away, blushing.
My friend, Dave, poked me in the shoulder. "Hey, are you ok?"
I nod. "Yeah, I'm fine."
Dave grinned. "Are you blushing?"
"Stop it, Dave, you're so mean."
Dave paused for a moment. "Hold on a second, your in love with Zoro? All the girls like him."
I blinked. "How did you find out?"
Dave smirked.
While walking with Dave, heading towards our favorite hangout out I spotted Zoro smirking. I smiled and headed towards him while Dave wasn't looking. "What's going on? What's with the smirk?"
Zoro took my hand and, saying nothing, showed me one of his favorite spots. "So, what do you think?"
"Oh, Zoro, it's beautiful."
He smiled, still holding my hand. "I figured this could be the spot where we meet in private."
I rested my head on his shoulder. "I'd like that." Something about where we just felt right. Just the two of us. By the time we left, I already thinking of meeting him here again.
