Damian found it very interesting to provoke the two girls.
Nene also noticed Damian's behavior of not paying attention in class but said nothing. Damian's culinary skills were very high, and perhaps his theoretical knowledge was also very good.
Nene simply ignored him and looked at the content on the blackboard.
She was still cold, so the situation wasn't very good for her. Besides being myopic, her current position wasn't ideal—not particularly in front—and some areas couldn't be seen clearly due to the reflection of the light, being blocked by the person in front of her, or being erased too quickly.
Nene sighed silently. She was thinking about what to do when she suddenly noticed something out of the corner of her eye. When she turned her head, she saw Damian pointing to a spot next to her notebook.
"Um?"
Damian said warmly, "Can you give me your notes?"
"Yes…"
"You can just listen to the class. I'll write everything for you. I didn't bring a notebook myself. I'll take a picture of your notes when class is over."
Nene was stunned for a moment, and before she could react, she saw that Damian had already taken her pen and notebook.
This warmed her heart. Damian must have noticed she was having trouble, so he thought of using this method to help her. She had seen that Damian was on his phone the whole time—how could he suddenly want to take notes?
Nene hadn't cared about someone like this in a long time, especially over such small things.
Seeing Damian taking notes while listening carefully, she sighed in relief and turned her head to focus on the class.
When class ended, the students left in a hurry. No matter where you are, any student is happy when class is over, especially if it ends early.
Nene was still silently sitting next to Damian, looking at him. His eyes were clear, and there was a slight smile on his face.
When Damian finished writing, Nene said softly, "Thank you…"
Before Nene could finish speaking, she saw Damian take out his phone, snap a picture, and then return the notebook to her, saying with a smile, "Thank you, Kinokuni-san."
"Eh? No... no... I should be the one thanking you..."
Damian smiled, stretched, and said, "Ahh~ finally done. So, Kinokuni-san, thanks and see you next time! Remember to take your medicine and rest well. I wish you a quick recovery. Arrivederci."
Damian stood up as he said goodbye, put on his headphones, slipped one hand into his pocket, and walked out while looking at his phone.
Nene was the only one left in the classroom. She came back to herself after a moment, looking at the notes in her notebook, which even highlighted key points. Nene stared at them for a while before reaching out and gently touching the notebook, then closed her eyes and softly said, "Thank you… thank you…"
Nene closed her notebook and was about to leave when she saw a boy appear at the classroom door.
She looked at the young man and didn't say a word, continuing to gather her things. The boy looked at her for a moment before approaching, sitting in the chair in front of her with a gentle smile and saying softly, "I see you haven't left yet, Nene."
"I'm already leaving. Why are you here?"
"I was passing by, so I decided to check in."
Nene continued packing her things without saying a word. Her head was lowered, so her expression couldn't be seen, but she was tidying up a little faster than before.
"Why are you wearing a mask? Did you catch a cold?"
"I'm fine."
Nene was still speaking in a monotone, but the boy didn't mind and said with a smile, "Come on, I'm sure you'll become one of the Elite Ten this semester. Wear warmer clothes and take care of your health."
"I know that. You don't have to remind me."
Nene left with her bag in hand.
The young man smiled as he walked away. He was used to it.
"The transfer student…"
"Damian Gray, right? It seems the competition for an Elite Ten seat just got tougher."
At an intersection, a girl with purple hair holding a stuffed rabbit and a red-haired girl with a lollipop in her mouth while playing with her phone were waiting at the stop.
"Ah, Rindō-chan, here comes Damian."
"Eh? He's so slow…"
Rindō looked at Damian as he approached the intersection and half-pouted, saying, "You're so slow! What were you doing?"
"I was actually paying attention in class to get good grades."
Momo said quietly, "I don't believe that."
"Eh? Really, if you don't believe me, look—I even took notes."
"Huh?! Are you really studying?!" x2
They had planned to meet here after class. They would wait for each other at the intersection and walk back together. They walked toward the dorms, chatting and laughing. This scene stirred envy in many onlookers, both men and women.
In a classroom far away, a blonde woman dressed in a short skirt—hardly giving the impression of a teacher—slammed the desk and shouted, "Enough! Get out of the room!"
"Ah!"
The beautiful blonde was about to leave when she heard someone shout, "Natsume-sensei! Why are you so normal today?!"
"Pfft..." xN
Becky raised her head and said, "Huh? I've always been normal."
"You're really weird today. What's going on?"
One of the girls tilted her head and said, "Yeah! Usually you shout things like, 'Grow up and marry me already! Hurry up and marry me! The basement in my house is super comfy…' and so on. Why are you so quiet today?"
Becky looked at the students, then waved her hand and said, "You brats, your dear Natsume-sensei already has a man she likes. It was love at first sight!"
"Huh?!" xN
"What? Can't I have a man I like? He's tall, handsome, and the food he makes is delicious! He's also very kind!"
Everyone looked disgusted, and one of the boys whispered, "That Damian guy is seriously unlucky…"
"Um…" xN
"Guhehehe… Um? NO! I'll definitely get Damian-kun! Then… we'll live a happy life together! Ahh~ I already miss him."
"Um…" xN
Becky suddenly remembered something and said coldly, "If Damian-kun ever comes to this school, and any of you try anything with him…"
She pulled out a fruit knife from nowhere and tilted her head slightly, smiling at them. Everyone swallowed hard and nodded in understanding.
Everyone sat silently in the classroom, not knowing what to make of it, listening to the occasional eerie giggle coming from the hallway, and trembling.
"Damian, or whatever your name is… I hope you live a happy life while you still can… My condolences."
"Amen…" xN
