Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: The Doomsday Demon Wolf

Apart from these few subordinate gods, several offspring of the Demon Wolf had also arrived—all Sequence Two angels. Among them was Gorzlat.

However, no one dared to cause trouble at this moment. The Doomsday Demon Wolf had already slain more than one of its own children.

All the subordinate gods and angels ascended the mountain quietly. At the summit stood the temple of the Doomsday Demon Wolf.

Amanisis passed through a layer of mist, and suddenly, the scene before her opened up.

This place was an architectural wonder, grand enough to be considered magnificent even in later eras. Inside, countless giants, elves, and other extraordinary beings lived. Palaces, cooking smoke, marketplaces—this was the domain of a god!

The moment they set foot inside, the entire city-state fell into silence.

Every living being froze, lifeless, their bodies turning in unison. Hollow eyes locked onto Amanisis and her companions.

"Olmir! War!"

The divine oracle echoed from every mouth, gradually converging into a tidal wave of sound that swept across the mountains. Every creature in the region heard the terrifying decree.

Countless lower-tier extraordinary beings exploded into blood mist, dyeing the mountains crimson. From the depths of the temple, an aura of violence and destruction began to awaken.

In the eyes of the four great subordinate gods, darkness stirred deep within the grand temple. The frenzy and bloodlust in that abyssal presence caused even their mental states to waver.

The God of the Dead fared better, as they were not directly suppressed.

The Dark Demon Wolf and Antigonus shed writhing spirit worms, which twisted, burst, and turned into light particles before returning to their bodies in an endless cycle.

Amanisis exhibited the same phenomenon. Her body seemed on the verge of transforming into a pure eight-legged demon wolf, with darkness and hidden forces surging within her. Her form was becoming shrouded in secrecy, while the spirits under her dominion howled and shattered!

Yet at this moment, Amanisis displayed signs of madness.

Of course, it was all an illusion. Her mind remained stable—she would never reveal a flaw here.

At times like these, if you don't act a little crazy, how can you blend in?

"Angorwid! Sunia Solem!"

These were two ancient gods who had fused multiple pathway materials. Though they were somewhat more controlled than the Doomsday Demon Wolf, they were equally ruthless and insane.

In the depths of the temple, two blood-red, frenzied eyes flared open. Behind the darkness, another power churned, peering into fate itself.

However, this surge of destiny only drove the Doomsday Demon Wolf into deeper madness, intensifying the aura of destruction.

For the ancient gods of this era, war and slaughter were routine. The subordinate gods and angels remained unfazed, waiting quietly.

The presence of fate continued to stir. The spirit world descended, making the entire city-state appear surreal. Marionettes exploded one after another, dissolving into the spirit world.

The Doomsday Demon Wolf had claimed the Fool pathway, wielding partial authority over fate. Naturally, it was attempting to foresee the outcome of this battle.

All the angels lowered their heads, awaiting the Doomsday Demon Wolf's command.

Amanisis's gaze remained calm and tranquil, devoid of unnecessary emotion.

"Roar!"

After an unknown length of time, the Doomsday Demon Wolf let out a furious howl from within the mist, releasing a strange power.

Amanisis's eyes turned blank. She stood there, confused, as if she had forgotten her purpose for coming here.

Her instincts struggled, trying to form a defensive stance, but some underlying suggestion prevented her from resisting.

The others were affected as well. Antigonus stared blankly at the marionettes of his father, thinking they would look more elegant if they were hung up.

The God of the Dead gazed at the sky, seemingly contemplating the deep philosophical question of whether a phoenix truly counted as a bird.

Gorzlat looked at the back of the Goddess of Misfortune and began doubting himself. Suddenly, he found this enemy—who blended human and demon wolf aesthetics—not so detestable after all.

Creatures other than the angels fared even worse. They lost all intelligence and sense of self, becoming mindless fools.

However, this power was unstable and could not last long. In the next moment, the subordinate gods and angels regained their consciousness, bowing their heads in reverence, not daring to express the slightest dissatisfaction.

This was the Doomsday Demon Wolf's dominion over "Deception"—an incomplete authority, but terrifying enough for these subordinate gods and angels.

Amanisis's pupils shrank sharply, but she concealed all emotions, quickly restoring her usual calm demeanor.

"March toward the Giant King's Court!"

The Doomsday Demon Wolf's eyes, brimming with madness, swept over all the subordinate gods and angels. Fortunately, the wolf was merely insane, not foolish—it did not attack them.

These angels still needed to gather "cannon fodder" for this war. They could not die just yet.

"Glory to Destruction!"

All the subordinate gods and angels spoke with deep respect and withdrew.

The Doomsday Demon Wolf's crimson eyes continued to gleam within the mist. Ancient gods were simply mad—but at the very least, they retained a sliver of reason, even if they had no need for it.

"Sea of Chaos!"

The Doomsday Demon Wolf's gaze remained maniacal as it looked toward an unknown place above the spirit world.

"Source Fortress!"

These were the two perceptible sources of power at present.

The Sea of Chaos lay deep within the earth; those who entered would be tainted. The Source Fortress hung above the spirit world, yet it remained elusive.

"We cannot let Angorwid and Sunia Solem have any chance!"

A flicker of rationality surfaced in the Doomsday Demon Wolf's mind. But in the next instant, it plunged back into madness. Its body, hidden beneath the mist, crumbled and reformed repeatedly. Spirit worms wailed incessantly, and illusory tentacles lashed at space itself.

"Source Fortress! Source Fortress!"

This unattainable desire only drove the Doomsday Demon Wolf further into insanity.

Previously, the Dragon of Fantasies and the Elf King had been in the same predicament. But now, with the power of the Sea of Chaos surging, they had an opportunity.

Yet the Doomsday Demon Wolf still could not reach it!

The urge for destruction burned hotter than ever, and the entire Divine Kingdom of Destruction was suffused with a terrifying will.

Amanisis ignored it all, evading several demon wolves before returning to her own temple, where she concealed herself completely.

Only then did her emotions truly erupt.

"Doomsday Demon Wolf..."

Amanisis's emotions fluctuated, her intent to kill surging. Only in a place like this did she dare to entertain such thoughts.

The authority of Deception was nearly inescapable for her in her current state. At any moment, she could be stripped of her wisdom, losing the calmness she relied on the most.

"Soon!"

Her emotions quickly settled, and upon reflecting on herself, she noticed something different.

"My emotions have become richer..."

She chuckled softly. This was not necessarily a bad thing. She had not been in this world for long—memories from just yesterday remained the clearest in her mind.

After some time, the Goddess of Misfortune emerged from her temple once more, clad in battle armor, gripping a massive scythe. Under the cover of night, she led an army of extraordinary beings from the Darkness pathway to march on the Giant King's Court
