We have been ordered to wait on the ship until Primus Kelan and a select few go to retrieve new steeds and mules for our journey. In the meantime, they gave us: makeshift tents, bedrolls, satchels and carrier bags to relocate our belongings and pack only what we need. The rest are to be discarded.
I sense that during an arduous expedition through the unexplored breadth of what lies beyond. I do not see the value of keeping fine fabrics or expensive sets of Jewellery. But the jewels can come in handy if we come across a community of sorts, and I can barter them for needed goods.
My weapons are always with me. Twin daggers rest against my thighs, their sheaths snugly strapped to my skin, the familiar weight reassuring. My quiver is slung across my back, the arrows nestled securely. An extra strap hooks diagonally across my chest, holding my bow in place, its spiked end angled safely away from my head.
