Chapter 58 - I am the one who will 'Remain'

Chapter 58

Ark just watches him calmly, but he still has a nagging feeling that something is not how it's supposed to be. His patience is also starting to run out. He thinks that he can also miss a little bit of fun and see for himself the truth about what really happened on Earth when they visited.

So he does just that. He goes inside his mind. Of course, S'kaib has defenses raised to protect his mind, but Ark just goes through them like a ghost, not even disturbing the barriers. S'Kaib is still walking towards him, but the deeper Ark goes inside his mind the slower the time moves—or the thoughts are just so much faster that this is the side effect that it brings.

In reality, Ark just watches S'kaib as he walks towards him, but he moves so slowly that it gives the impression he almost stops completely. But Ark, inside his mind, has already found the memories he has of Earth's visit. He dives into them like jumping into water.

He appears right next to S'kaib and watches everything like a spectator. He looks around and sees some teacher-like persons, inside a big garden. They are around a table beneath a big garden house that is only a roof held by four big stone pillars, and they are teaching the little S'kaib about how they found the Earth and how they watched it for a few years. And they think it's perfect for their plan. So they plan to send a few to meet the Earthlings.

Then the memory changes and now S'kaib is inside a big throne room where a man sits on the throne, and S'kaib watches him from below. He hears the man speaking with a few generals:

"How long until the portals are ready?"

One of the generals answers:

"Only a few days, Your Highness. Our army is ready to be deployed anytime. They won't even know what hit them. They will lose their planet, and they will become our reserve of bodies for whenever we need them."

Then the man on the throne nods and says:

"It's good then, because I need to change this body soon."

Then the memory changes again. Now he is outside training his mind powers. Then he sees the soldiers and some slaves running towards the square inside the palace. He also starts running, and when he reaches there, he sees one of the generals flying in the air and saying something:

"There are only a few hours until the portals will be online. Whoever wants to see the other side can come and watch the conquering on the hologram outside the portals. There the soldiers will have cameras, and we will be able to see everything."

S'kaib smiles and runs towards his father's and mother's chambers. He plans to go with them to see the conquering taking place in real time.

But when he reaches there, he can't find anyone. He thinks, 'Strange, where are father and mother?'

Then the memory changes again. Now he sees how one of the generals kill his father and mother, and says:

"I'm sorry, Your Highnesses, but I can only listen to the Celestials. They want this planet, so we can only give it to them."

Then he runs outside and hears something about how the Earthlings killed their people and destroyed the portals. They won't be able to cross anymore. There won't be any conquering anymore. Then he hears a scream and sees everyone running towards the place where his parents were killed.

Then Ark goes back to reality. Now he understands what was wrong. He says:

"So you need to change your mind to new bodies if you want to keep on living. That's why you needed the Earth—for an unlimited supply of bodies to pick from. And I think the reason your people lose control is because the body is rejecting the mind. And weaker minds are overloaded immediately and they become beasts controlled by their body's instincts."

S'kaib just stops, shocked. He just freezes in place.

Ark smiles and says again:

"So, I can take that as a yes. Your people are just some leeches that preach about prospering together. All is only a lie."

S'kaib then says angrily:

"How do you know all that?"

Ark just smiles, and then he makes a magic circle in front of him and an eye forms in front of it. A red eye that looks like a dragon eye, but far more evil-looking and an aura that makes even the dark beings tremble. When this eye appears, it starts to move left and right. Then, all of a sudden, the dead bodies start to rise up. Then they start flying towards S'kaib.

In a few seconds, they reach him and start to attack him, but he just raises his axe and slashes in a circle around him, and every zombie is cut in two, then sent flying by the wind made by the axe.

A circle is cleared around him. Then he forms mind weapons of all kinds—swords, spears, axes, lances, arrows—that start flying towards the dead bodies. In a few seconds, they make minced meat out of them. Then his remaining slaves and bodyguards and beasts start to kill the zombies. That frees him to attack Ark again.

He starts running towards him. When he is about 50 meters away from him, he makes some knives again behind him that he sends forward. He throws the axe above him, then he makes the spikes from the back of his hand grow like knives.

The flying mind knives reach him in a second. Ark just makes a magic circle in front, then the knives fly inside. Immediately another circle appears behind S'kaib. Now the knives are flying towards him from behind. Then he sees Ark running towards him. He just dismisses the mind knives and starts punching towards Ark, but before his punch connects, Ark just disappears.

He feels something behind him, and before he manages to do something, he is sent flying towards the left side. In that moment, Ark kicks his head from the side, and that makes him almost lose his head. If his armor wasn't there, he would be dead right now.

He flies for a few hundred meters, but then he hits something hard—a magic circle with an Earth Wall stops him. His body almost becomes a pancake, his armor saving him again.

But not without injury. Some of his ribs are broken, and his left hand hangs next to him, also broken.

Then he gets up with a little bit of effort, and he sees how Ark walks towards him slowly. For a moment, he wants to turn back and run. But before he manages to do something, he sees Ark in front of him. With his punch almost in his face, he raises his hand in a hurry, trying to protect his head. But when the punch connects, it breaks the other arm also. It continues towards his head. He is again hit, and his head hits the Earth Wall behind him.

That breaks his head armor. It splinters into small pieces like glass. Then blood starts pouring from his wounds. But the next moment, he is again punched and a few teeth fly. And again, he hits the Earth Wall behind him, which makes his brain shake like someone's teeth in negative twenty degrees with no clothes on.

That makes his mind lose every power that it has. Right now, he is like a child in front of a lion. He slides on the Earth Wall and falls on his butt. His head falls down, and a puddle of blood forms beneath him in seconds. He tries to raise his head, but he lacks the strength to do even that.

Ark looks at him from above and says:

"Don't worry. You won't be alone where you are going. Your leech people from your planet will soon follow you."

Then Ark's eyes start to turn red. He fires his laser. And in a few moments, S'kaib's body becomes just a molten mess.

Then Ark turns towards the rest of the enemies, and thousands of magic circles form all around him. In a few moments, millions of monsters start to come out. Some are like wyverns, some like werewolves, some like scorpions, some like spiders, some like beastmen, some like cyclops. Almost every kind of monster.

Then, from being last, Ark starts to move up towards the first place with the kills. The others look at him like he is a monster.

Then he also flies into the middle of enemies and starts to kill even more. The others look at one another and know that they need to do something about Ark.

But before they manage to do something, a new wave of enemies appears—now led by a woman that has vines instead of hands, and on her neck are flower petals the size of car doors. Her eyes are completely green with a flower-shaped iris. And her hair is vines with flowers bloomed on them that are two meters long. Her lower body is tree roots. And her clothes are leaves that cover only the important places.

The others say immediately:

"Ark, you take care of that plant woman. We will deal with the rest."
