Chapter 45 - The Unlucky Doctor

Curse the Doctor?

But where exactly is he right now?

Qiu Bai closed his eyes slightly. After a brief moment, a smirk crept onto his lips.

"Found you."

He moved toward a secluded corner of Liyue Harbor. Given how chaotic things were, walking out openly wasn't an option.

With a single thought, his figure vanished.

Liyue – Lingju Pass

Dottore, clad in his signature raven mask, held a talisman-like object in his hand. However, instead of the usual divine aura, it radiated an eerie black mist.

After seemingly completing his investigation, he turned and led his Fatui subordinates toward Liyue Harbor.

"Now… it's time to collect that thing."

A twisted grin spread across his face as he threw his arms wide, cackling maniacally.

"The Vortex God, Osial—suppressed beneath the sea by the Rock Spears—will soon be fully unleashed!"

"With Liyue stripped of its two Archons, how will they possibly contend with such an ancient deity?"

"What a fascinating experiment!"

The Fatui agents and Mirror Maidens behind him shuddered at his words.

They hadn't expected him to be this insane!

According to their intel, they were only meant to partially release the Vortex God while keeping it restrained by the Rock Spears.

But a complete release?

Could Liyue Harbor even withstand such a catastrophe?

Liyue wasn't just the most prosperous nation in Teyvat—it was also home to many key merchants from Snezhnaya.

What would happen then? Would their own people be caught in the chaos?

And what about the Tsaritsa's orders?

Their mission was simply to seize the Gnosis, nothing more.

Had the Doctor even considered these consequences?

And that talisman in his hand—could it really fully unseal Osial?

The Fatui agents exchanged uneasy glances, their bodies trembling.

Only a Cryo Fatui Skirmisher stood at the back, completely oblivious—absentmindedly swiping at a passing butterfly.

"This lunatic actually wants to fully release Osial."

Hidden among the Fatui, Qiu Bai observed the deranged Harbinger with a cold gaze.

"System, scan Dottore's status—and that talisman he's holding."

"Ding! Since the system owes the Host, scans will no longer require Origin Energy!"

Name: Dottore

Title: Second Harbinger of the Fatui, Snezhnaya

Status: Most twisted and insane segment, dispersed across multiple timelines

Power Level: Low-tier Archon Level

Gender: Male

Weapons: Twin Spikes

Item: Evil Eye Taboo Talisman

Formed by fusing 100 Evil Eyes with the Tsaritsa's power.

"Wait, what?! Archon-level strength?!"

Qiu Bai was momentarily stunned. He hadn't expected a mere segment of Dottore to be this powerful.

"But… whatever. Doesn't change a thing."

A smirk tugged at his lips. The talisman meant nothing to him.

"The real question is… how should I curse him?"

Then, as if struck by inspiration, his eyes gleamed.

A devious idea surfaced in his mind.

His smirk deepened.

In an instant, his body transformed.

Long hair cascaded down his back, his frame grew slender, and his clothing shifted—he had taken the form of a woman: Qiu Xue.

With another thought, he teleported to the path where Dottore and the Fatui were approaching.

There, Qiu Xue lay sprawled on the ground.

Her flawless, snow-white thighs were fully exposed, and her delicate feet were bare. A dark purple bruise marred one of her ankles.

Her hair was disheveled, her face smudged with dirt. Tears glistened in her eyes as she trembled weakly.

Even a Geo Slime passing by would probably slap on its armor out of sheer instinct.

"This should look pitiful enough."

"Now, let's see who takes the bait."

A sly glint flashed in Qiu Xue's eyes as she lay in wait.

Before long, Dottore and his Fatui subordinates arrived.

The moment the Fatui soldiers spotted her, their eyes lit up.

Dottore, meanwhile, stroked his chin, scrutinizing her curiously.

Then, in a soft, trembling voice, Qiu Xue pleaded—

"Honorable officers… I sprained my ankle… Could you help me?"

Her large, teary eyes shimmered as she gazed at Dottore and the approaching Fatui.

She blinked.

Waiting.

Watching.

For them to fall into the trap.

The Cryo Fatui Skirmisher at the back of the group hesitated when he saw the pitiful young woman on the ground. His simple, honest nature made it hard for him to ignore her plight.

"Pretty big sister, are you alright? Do you want me to carry you?"

His deep, sincere voice rang out as he stepped forward, genuinely concerned for Qiu Xue's well-being.

"This voice… why does it sound so familiar?"

"Wait a minute… isn't this the Raspberry Cryo Skirmisher?"

Qiu Xue's mouth twitched slightly. This particular Fatui grunt was surprisingly considerate—definitely not the usual type.

Before she could respond, a Pyro Musketeer from the Fatui Vanguard scoffed, shoving the Cryo Skirmisher aside.

"Get lost, you fat fool! A beauty like this—"

"Should be carried by a true gentleman like me!"

Wearing a disgustingly lecherous grin, the Pyro Musketeer rushed forward, eyes gleaming as he ogled Qiu Xue.

Before she could even react, his hand was already reaching out to touch her.

Her expression turned icy—she was just about to drop the act entirely…

SLAP!

The Mirror Maiden standing nearby stepped in and smacked the Pyro Musketeer across the face!

The crisp sound echoed through the air as the man staggered backward, clutching his cheek.

With her long legs and commanding presence, the Mirror Maiden strode forward, stopping right in front of Qiu Xue.

"Miss, allow me to carry you."

"Our destination is Liyue Harbor anyway, so we can escort you along the way."

Pressing a hand to her chest, the Mirror Maiden spoke with genuine sincerity.

After all, not every Fatui soldier was completely devoid of discipline.

Qiu Xue glanced up at the woman standing before her—

Her figure… her height… her legs… her chest…

She gulped.

For a split second, she almost forgot why she was even here.

"Alright~ Big Sister," Qiu Xue cooed sweetly.

"Thank you so much!"

She flashed the Mirror Maiden a brilliant, radiant smile—so dazzling that the Mirror Maiden herself blushed.

The woman hesitated for just a moment, flustered, before reaching out to help Qiu Xue up.

But before she could, a deep, commanding voice interrupted.

"Wait."

Dottore stepped forward, his masked gaze fixed on Qiu Xue.

"Miss, what are you doing out here in such a desolate place?"

His magnetic voice carried a hint of suspicion.

"So he suspects me already?"

"Makes sense… it is strange for someone to be out here alone."

Qiu Xue had already anticipated this scenario.

Adopting the most pitiful expression she could muster, she looked up at him with tearful, innocent eyes.

"Officer, I was out picking herbs and got lost on my way back…"

"Then I tripped on a rock and twisted my ankle. It hurts so much—I can't even stand."

Her voice trembled slightly as she gazed up at him, helpless and fragile.

Dottore tilted his head slightly, considering her words.

Then, after a moment, a refined, gentlemanly smile curled at the corner of his lips.

"I see. Picking herbs… and you sprained your ankle?"

"Miss, allow us to escort you back."

"It's far too dangerous out here for someone like you."

With that, he knelt on one knee and extended his hand toward her.

Qiu Xue didn't hesitate.

She took his hand.

The moment their hands touched, an invisible black aura flowed from Qiu Xue's fingertips.

The curse seeped into Dottore's skin, slithering up his arm, traveling unseen to the crown of his head.

By the time the process was complete, Qiu Xue's lips curled into the faintest, most imperceptible smirk.

And then, without a hint of suspicion, Dottore helped her to her feet.
