Chapter 6 - The Shred Mark

Lisa shut her eyes tightly and didn't flinch; she had no idea if Klaus was angry or just being his normal self because, unlike other creatures, she couldn't feel his emotions.

"You wish to break the deal?" He questioned, and she nodded without thinking twice; she just wanted out.

"But we are married," he reminded her, and her brows furrowed; she didn't remember attending any wedding.

"You have my blood in your system, and that's for eternity." Klaus added, and Lisa turned to face him.

"How about a new deal?" She proposed, and he had a curious look; he was curious to know what her little brain came up with this time around.

"If you let me go, then I will stop worshipping the moon goddess and worship you, but I won't be your bride."

Klaus chuckled, "For all these years you couldn't wolf out, and you still worshipped some moon goddess?" He asked, wasn't that being stupid? Having faith in some goddess who made you an outcast?

"I am a wolf, and one day I will be able to wolf out," she said with gritted teeth, and Klaus simply nodded before he walked to the door.

"You are mine, Lisa Moonstar, so get used to it."

"I want to leave; I will never be stuck with a monster." Lisa scolded, and Klaus stopped in his tracks.

A monster?

He had saved her from those rogue wolves and was willing to ruin her enemies, but she called him a monster?

"Is that so?" He questioned, and Lisa nodded.

She just wanted to leave.

Alpha Davin was sick; he needed her… Only she could care for him.

"You love him that much?" He asked, and Lisa thought for a while; it's true she was upset a while ago.

But that's it.

Davin was the only man she ever loved; she believed they shared this special bond that no one could explain.

"Till we meet again, Lisa Moonstar," he muttered beneath his breath, because he cherished her… He will let her go.

It was better now than later… After all, he was just a monster to her, and they were both also not compatible.

*

Lisa flickered her eyes, but her eyelid was just so heavy to open.

"Lisa, wake up," she heard a familiar eagle call out, and her eyes opened up.

Her gaze met with Jim's, her little eagle friend. "Oh my…Jim, I missed you." Lisa chuckled and say up, before scanning the place.

The last thing she remembered was having a conversation with Klaus, and now she was here, at the entrance to her pack.

"Why are you here, Lisa?" Jim asked; for a moment, he thought the demon king had fed on her… After all, they loved blood as much as vampires.

"You abandoned me." Lisa snorted when she remembered how he had fled away and let her deal with the demon king alone.

"I am sorry."

"Anyways, I need to see Davin. So help me check if there are guards ahead." Lisa pleaded, but Jim landed on her shoulders.

"Why would you want to go back there? You were rejected."

"Fine, don't help me." Lisa snorted and shrugged her shoulder, shooing him away.

She stood on her feet and headed into the pack while taking cover from the trees, but there were no guards.

"How come there are no guards? What if the rogue wolves chose to get in?" Lisa snorted; now Davin was sick, and the guards mishandled their job.

After walking for a while, she got to the city and noticed everyone staring at her, but they didn't approach her and kept whispering amongst themselves.

She ignored them and headed for the palace; after all, Davin was the only one she wished to see.

After walking for a while, Lisa stood before the palace and examined the place, which was once her home.

So she knew better than to go through the main entrance.

After she succeeded in getting in through the garden door, she walked down the corridor heading to Davin's chambers before a voice broke through the air.

"Halt!" It was an order from the new Luna, Sia, who approached Lisa with a deep frown.

"How dare you show up here?" Sia questioned, and Lisa rolled her eyes.

"Don't act surprised. I am sure you knew I was going to show up to check on Davin."

Sia burst out in laughter, and this got Lisa confused. What was funny?

"Davin was right, well… Do whatever you wish," Sia said before she walked past Lisa, who had a dull look.

She thought she was going to get into a fight with Sia.

So why did she just leave?

Whatever!

Lisa hurried to Davin's chamber and slowly pushed the door open. Davin stood shirtless beside the window, and his gaze quickly diverted to the door.

"Lisa," he called, and her gaze softened before she hurried towards him and hugged him tightly.

"I was so worried. How are you feeling right now?"

Davin broke the hug and grabbed Lisa's wrist and yanked her to his side with his pupils all white.

"Why did it take you so long to show up?" He scolded her, and her brows furrowed; she wasn't following up.

"You…you chased me out of the pack," she reminded him, and he let out a loud snort.

"And I don't regret that one bit… Now that you are here, the rituals will finally be carried out."

Silent

Lisa raised a brow. What rituals?

"Alpha Davin, the witches are here," a guard announced from the door. Once they spotted Lisa, they quickly called the witches who needed Lisa's blood to complete a ritual for Alpha Davin.

"Witches? Davin, why are there witches in the pack?" She questioned worriedly; those creatures were pure evil and only knew how to manipulate people.

"Take her." Davin pushed Lisa to the ground, and the guard hurried and grabbed her.

"Leave me… What's going on?" Lisa burst out in tears while trying to free herself from the guard's grip.

"Davin, please…" Lisa kept pleading as she was being dragged out of the chambers, and all he did was stare at her with a smile.

"Leave me." Lisa kept scolding the guard, but he paid no attention to her.

Soon they arrived at the cell; he pushed her into one of those and closed it. "I am sorry, Luna," the guard apologised before he left.

Lisa kept banging her fist on the iron doors. "Let me out of here… Let me out, cowards"

"No one will let you out," a tiny voice said from behind, and Lisa turned to find a mouse.

"I only came to see Davin because he was sick. So why is he treating me this way?" Lisa fell to the ground in tears; she was just worried about him.

"He wasn't sick… It was just a strategy to get you to come to him," the mice replied, and Lisa frowned. Was that true?

"His new bride told him he could be more powerful if he got the Shred mark on his body, but in order to have one, he needs to perform a ritual."

The shred mark? Wasn't that a forbidden mark?

"And they need some of my blood for the ritual." Lisa finally understood the plan; the witches must have asked for her blood as one of the requirements.

"They said your descendants created the mark so only their blood could activate it and no Lisa… They don't need some of your blood. They need it all."

Lisa palmed her face and tried to hide her tears…

He wanted her dead.

"He doesn't care about me." Lisa pulled her hair in frustration; she was stupid.

So stupid.

"I… I broke my deal with the devil just so I could return to him, but he wants me dead?" Lisa had a pale look before the mice quickly ran to the other angle once he noticed a shadow.

It was Sia and some guards. "You look good in there." Sia chuckled, and Lisa stood on her toes.

"And you think you won't?" Lisa fired back, but Sia snorted.

"I am a Luna and deserve some respect," she said, flaunting her Luna necklace.

"And it's only right that I try to make my husband the strongest in the world…so that's why you are here."

"The Shred mark will kill him." Lisa scolded, and Sia shrugged her shoulders.

"I had no idea," then she burst out into laughter.

"The rituals will soon start, so why don't you sit still and reminisce on your stupid life decisions and finally come to terms with the fact that you will be dying as an idiot?"
