Chapter 23 - The Healer's Burden

Lyra Sinclair's POV

I ducked as another burst of golden light shot across the cabin, breaking what remained of the windows. The force knocked me to my knees, my medical bag spilling onto the floor.

"Amara, please!" I called out. "You need to control it!"

Amara stood in the middle of the room, her body pulsing with that strange triple-colored light—wolf gold, witch blue, and fae silver. The marks on her skin glowed brighter with each wave of power.

"I can't stop it," she gasped, her voice echoing weirdly. "It hurts!"

Elias hovered close, desperate to help but afraid to touch her. The last time he tried, the energy had thrown him against the wall.

I crawled toward my spread herbs, grabbing the small pouch of purple flowers. "Breathe through it," I directed. "Like I showed you before."

Amara's eyes—those strange, tri-colored eyes—locked on mine. She nodded, trying to follow my breathing rhythm.
