Chapter 9 : White Blaze Awakens
The heavy rain poured over the school rooftop, its relentless rhythm drowned by the deafening silence in Goro's heart. He knelt beside Ryusei, his best friend, who lay motionless with blood seeping from his wound. The black figure stood nearby, a cruel grin on its shadowy face, reveling in the despair it had caused.
Goro's hands trembled as he touched Ryusei's chest, feeling the faintest trace of life still within him. His heart pounded, his body shaking with fury. "No… No… You're not dying on me, Ryusei," he whispered, his voice cracking with grief.
Then, something inside him snapped.
A surge of energy, hotter than the sun and heavier than the moon, exploded from within Goro's core. His body erupted in radiant white flames, brighter than anything the dark figure had ever seen. The sheer force of the energy rippled through the surroundings, shattering windows and sending powerful gusts through the school. His eyes glowed pure white, his hair flickering like burning stardust. His very existence radiated raw celestial power.
The black figure took a step back, its sinister grin replaced by shock. "What… What is this?! This shouldn't be possible!" it snarled.
Goro's voice echoed through the storm, calm yet filled with a divine intensity. "This… This is the White Blaze Form."
The dark entity roared and lunged at him, but Goro moved like lightning, dodging effortlessly. His speed was unreal—one moment he was in front of the enemy, the next he was behind it. With a clenched fist, he delivered a Lunar Punch straight to its gut. The impact sent the creature flying across the rooftop, crashing through steel railings and embedding it into the concrete wall.
But Goro wasn't done.
Before the dark figure could react, he dashed forward, his body shimmering with celestial energy. He spun mid-air and delivered a Lunar Kick, the force of which cracked the ground beneath them. The figure howled in pain as Goro's attack crushed its ribs, sending dark mist spilling from its wounds like blood.
Goro landed gracefully, gazing at his hands in awe. His entire body was glowing, his fists pulsing with an unimaginable power. "So this is what I've become…" he muttered.
The black figure struggled to rise, its remaining strength fading. "You… You shouldn't have this kind of power yet…"
Goro's expression hardened. "And you shouldn't have hurt my friend."
He raised his hands, forming a Lunar Field—a powerful gravitational force that locked the enemy in place. The black figure thrashed, but it couldn't move.
Then, with a burst of white flames around his arms, Goro slashed forward with his bare hand, unleashing Lunar Slash. A crescent-shaped energy wave shot forward, slicing through the entity's left leg in an instant. The creature screamed as its leg disintegrated into dark mist.
Still trapped in the Lunar Field, the figure looked up in terror as Goro clenched his fist one last time. "Let's finish this," he said coldly.
With a final burst of power, he struck down with an Ultimate Lunar Punch, a move so powerful it sent shockwaves through the entire school building. The black figure was obliterated, its body disintegrating into the night sky like fading embers.
Silence filled the air. The storm had stopped. The rain had ceased.
Goro exhaled, his glowing aura dimming as he fell to his knees, exhausted. He turned toward Ryusei, who was still unconscious. He reached out and shook his friend. "Come on, idiot. Don't die on me now…"
To his relief, Ryusei groaned and opened his eyes weakly. "Damn… Did you actually get stronger, or did I just get weaker?" he muttered with a pained smile.
Goro chuckled, wiping his face. "Guess we'll never know."
As the night returned to peace, an unseen presence watched from afar, smiling in the shadows. The battle was only beginning.
