Kaylee was alone for about an hour or so before someone came inside with an ice pack and a silver platter with items on it. Kaylee had managed in the meantime to lie down on the sofa before hearing the doors open again.
Immediately, she opened her eyes, but was slow to raise and see who it was. She was hoping it was Ivaander again, but once she did rise, she saw it was people she didn't recognize.
The feeling of relaxation turned into unease again, as the people entering had reddish bloodshot eyes. That looked like demonic energy.
However, they didn't seem to be looking at Kaylee like they wanted to hurt her, instead, they placed the silver platter down, which had bandages, medicine, and ointment on the plate.
" We are here to attend to your wounds. " The woman would tell Kay.
" Yes. So please— don't resist us. " The other would speak, who was a male this time, but he looked much younger than the older butler male that Kaylee had seen.
Kaylee was now extremely confused, just how many people lived in this manor? What's more puzzling, was who actually owned this place.
Kay didn't know what to do, but she knew that Ivaander was the only one who she trusted. If Ivaander sent them to do this, then she would trust he sent people to actually help.
This time Kaylee would nod without hesitation and give them the okay. The two individuals walked over towards Kaylee, and helped unbutton and remove bandages here and there.
Over time, Kaylee would winch, somewhat hiss from the pain and treatments. Though they seemed to be working rather quickly. She didn't see as many bruises and scars like before.
The male had even put some special ointment on her neck because the swelling seemed to be going down much better. After they finished, they even sat with her for a while.
After at least twenty minutes, the woman would get up from a chair and walk over towards Kaylee.
" How do you feel now? " She would ask her.
Kaylee, seeing the woman, would nod and then feel inside her throat that she had more room to reply.
" I.. I'm a bit better.. " She would say back.
The male, hearing her, would toss down a book he had been reading, and uncross his legs to walk over to the two.
" Yeah. Well. Don't strain your vocals. Try to make small words as much as possible. That way, your throat has more room for breathing. " He explained.
Kaylee would nod towards his words, and watch as the woman would grab the other's hand. It would seem the two of them were perhaps a couple? That is what Kay assumed.
She didn't know for sure; all she knew was that she was lost, didn't know how far she was from her apartment, didn't know the surroundings, and was definitely with unknown people who looked strange. They were mainly pale, and also didn't seem to like to socialize much.
Immediately, the two walked off, but not before Kaylee got up and tried to speak to one of them.
"Can … one of you tell me - where am I?" Kaylee would question.
The two looked at one another with a glance, almost as if asking the question themselves Should we. Kaylee watched carefully and saw the girl unlock her hand with the male and approach Kay.
Kay quietly stood there, before the lady would be within an inch of her. Kaylee sees the woman's puzzling, and uncanny features more clearly. Her eyes were the most intriguing but she looked rather young.
Almost as if she were a teenager, and had long blonde hair with a short flurry dress that looked like it was handmade. Her head tilted a bit at Kaylee, and then became straight again before replying.
"We cannot tell you."
"Why? I– I won't like…. Tell anybody…." Kaylee tried to speak before the male in the back would intervene.
"We already know that. But that's not what Sapphire means…."
At least Kaylee was able to put a name with a face, as the male had pointed out that the woman who was before Kaylee was a woman named Sapphire. She looked calm and collected as she nodded in response to the male's comment.
"That shall be up to Yami to decide."
"..... Yami?" Kaylee said with a confused tone, an arch of a brow, and a puzzle of expression plastered against her face.
"Who's Yami?' She would ask for her first inquiry.
The two, both Sapphire and the male, looked at one another, a bit shocked, and also stunned in a response of uncertainty. It wasn't until this moment that they realized that Ivaander didn't share his actual name with this woman.
Sapphire looked back at the male, who had solid short black hair, cut on the sides, with sharp, narrow eyes almost similar to Ivaandar's. The male cocking his head a bit at Sapphire, as she shrugged.
"I mean– should" Sapphire was about to speak, before the male overspoke with her remark before she could finish.
"No." He would say towards her, in a monotone and firm tone.
Sapphire turned back to Kaylee, and she watched the two converse for a brief moment, as she saw Sapphire look back at her. Sapphire sighed and shook her head.
"He is…. Someone you will eventually meet. But that is not important now, what's important is that you get some more rest, and eat the soup Devin and I have delivered to you."
Kaylee mentally took note of that name as well, she now had two names to match with the faces of these people, who could potentially be her enemies or allies. Kay glanced behind her at a table that had the medication and the silver platter on it.
Noticing another with a bowl covering holding other items, she assumed it was the food. Kay shifting her eyes to and from, contemplating her thoughts, and the next form of word choice.
It wasn't until Devin spoke up this time, and quickly approached Sapphire, gently tugging on her waistline, covering her.
"Let's leave her to eat, hm?" Devin remarked to Sapphire.
Sapphire nodded with no argument, as Kaylee looked on and noticed how fast Sapphire seemed to be in agreement. It was almost like watching someone be in awe of someone. It wasn't until Kay realized in that instant that she felt that way with Ivaander sometimes.
Finally, the two, both Devin and Sapphire, would leave the room once more, leaving Kaylee alone. The doors closed behind them, as Kaylee continued to paste in the living quarters for a while.
She pondered more about that unknown person called Yami. She didn't know who that could be or why both Devin and Sapphire seemed to be dismissive all so sudden. Kay sighed, while running her hand through her hair a bit and sat down on the sofa.
Tapping her foot against the soft black rug beneath her, she stopped and looked up at a grand clock. Seeing now that the time was 2 PM, Kaylee thought that at least she knew the time frame.
It wasn't the best help, but it was something she could go off of for the time being. She didn't even know where her personal belongings were, or where they could be stashed. Kay was definitely hungry, though, as she walked over to the platter and took the top off.
Seeing that the plate consisted of mashed potatoes, steak, and some green beans. It most certainly looked eye-pleasing, but she wasn't sure if this food was tainted. Kay was now paranoid and on high alert with any and everything.
She didn't know if she should take the risk, but hearing her stomach growling, she didn't know what other options were there. She closed her eyes and hoped that once she ate, nothing bad would happen afterwards.
Kaylee took the plate, fork, and knife that came with it and sat back down on the sofa. Putting the plate in her lap, she would sigh and begin to start to cut her food up. In the meantime, her eyes wandered around as she chewed the food, admiring the sensory.
Then it dawned on her that she should try and take a look around the place if she could. If she was going to be alone for the time being, what better way to try and get to know these people than to go looking right?
