ASHER
I couldn't believe what had just happened until I heard the door slam.
I stood there, frozen, staring at the door like it was some alien being I had just shared an intimate kiss with.
My fingers brushed against my lips as the last few seconds replayed in my head like a scene on loop.
I could hear the sound of my heartbeat…loud, frantic. If anyone else were in the room, they'd probably hear it too.
At first, I was just observing her. Her feet had started to shake, and she clutched her chest like she was having a panic attack.
I wanted to hold her and make sure she's fine, when she did it…
One moment I was worried about her…
The next one, I was clearing my desk, losing my mind, pulling her closer for a kiss.
Yeah, my heart just skipped a beat again.
I don't think I can hold this.
Nooo.
It was like my wolf was released and a thousand butterflies had burst out of their cage all at once.
I have never felt this before, not this hard. Not this real.
