The passage glowed, guiding Isla and Kai upwards. Isla touched the amulet, its warmth comforting. Kai tested the blade, feeling its power.
They emerged into the chamber where they had found the stone, now lifeless. "What now?" Isla asked.
"We need to find a way out," Kai said, his eyes searching the shadows.
They discovered a hidden crevice and squeezed through, entering a dusty corridor. The air was thick with decay.
They followed the corridor until they reached a heavy door. Kai pushed it open, revealing a vast, cavernous space.
A single shaft of moonlight illuminated a network of tunnels. They had returned to the chasm's edge, to the labyrinth beneath the sanctuary.
But now, they were armed with the amulet, the blade, and the strength forged in the heart of the fire.
"Ready?" Kai asked, his eyes meeting Isla's.
Isla nodded, her grip tightening on the amulet. "Together."
