Thane descended, his eyes burning with ancient power. "Fools," he hissed, "you cannot defeat me."
Isla, amulet glowing, stepped forward. "We will not let your darkness win."
Kai, blade raised, echoed her resolve. "We will stop you, no matter the cost."
Thane laughed, a chilling sound. "Cost? You know nothing. I sacrificed everything for power."
He gestured to the swirling shadows. "Humanity, compassion, my soul. I gained dominion."
"Darkness and despair," Isla countered.
"Order and control," Thane retorted. "Free from the chaos of free will."
"A world without hope," Kai said, anger in his voice.
"Hope is weakness," Thane sneered. "Delusion. True power is control."
He gestured, and shadows coalesced into monstrous forms. "Prove your courage," he challenged, "or kneel before me."
Isla and Kai braced themselves, the amulet and blade their only defenses against the encroaching darkness. They knew they were outmatched, but they would not yield. They would fight for hope, for light, for the world they knew was worth saving. The battle was about to begin.
