Chapter 169: Time and Space Disaster
It wasn't that the elite soldiers of the Longteng Army were overreacting—this was completely normal.
Any human who had set foot on the battlefield had witnessed the horrific sight of their comrades being devoured.
So when they realized Jiang Tian's ability, there was only one thought in their minds.
Nothing must happen to this child!
His talent was simply too great.
Just like now.
The special cafeteria was heavily guarded by Longteng Army soldiers, stationed at the doors, the hall, and even the entrance of the kitchen.
Despite the intoxicating aroma wafting from inside, they stood their ground, sharp-eyed and alert, ensuring nothing threatened Jiang Tian.
To them, Jiang Tian was now a national treasure—his safety was paramount.
Anyone who dared to harm him would have to step over their dead bodies first.
As Jiang Tian continued processing the Ice Crystal Bird, Xue Ruyan stood beside him, watching curiously.
"Student Jiang, how are you planning to cook this dish?" she asked.
Jiang Tian was meticulously plucking the ice-blue feathers from the creature's body. The sharp, crystalline quills shimmered like finely honed daggers, their edges razor-sharp.
But Jiang Tian ignored their sharpness, plucking them by hand as if they were nothing.
Xue Xiao, who was observing, instinctively wanted to warn him—but she stopped herself.
Jiang Tian wasn't bleeding.
He was holding the Ice Crystal Bird's blade-like feathers with his bare hands, yet there wasn't a single cut or scratch on him.
Her frown deepened.
She knew exactly how sharp those feathers were, especially considering this was a Level 2 alien genius.
But Jiang Tian?
He plucked them effortlessly, as if plucking fruit from a tree.
"I'm planning to cook it spicy," Jiang Tian answered Xue Ruyan.
Xue Ruyan nodded. "So you're adding flame fruit?"
"Exactly. While we need a cold-natured dish, we still have to consider the taste," Jiang Tian explained.
"The more stimulating the flavor, the better the effect."
As they continued discussing, Xue Xiao found herself watching in awe.
It was such a bizarre sight.
Two young, brilliant human warriors, standing over an alien corpse, discussing how to make it delicious.
It reminded her of something.
How many times had she witnessed alien races mocking humans, debating which body part to eat first?
How many times had she felt rage, humiliation, and helplessness?
And yet, here it was—reversed.
Humans were now the ones discussing how to devour an alien.
The very thought sent a chill down her spine.
Soon, Jiang Tian finished plucking the feathers, revealing the bare flesh of the Ice Crystal Bird.
Looking closely, it was strikingly similar to the Fire Feather Tribe, though with slight differences.
"Student Xue, record this and send it to the experimental class group," Jiang Tian instructed.
"Have them come over and learn a little."
Xue Ruyan nodded, setting up her mobile phone on a tripod.
Meanwhile, Zhang Mou and the others put down their work and gathered around.
"This is the Ice Crystal Bird Tribe," Jiang Tian began, placing the alien's naked body on the table.
"I've done a quick examination. It's similar to the Fire Feather Tribe, but there are some key differences from the Flame Bird Tribe."
As he spoke, he picked up his knife.
"Now, I'll show you the decomposition process step by step."
"First, we remove the internal organs."
Jiang Tian slid his hand into the Ice Crystal Bird's torso, following the spine until he reached beneath the collarbone.
Then, with a swift pull, he extracted the trachea.
The wet schlurp sound made some of the students flinch.
"Next," Jiang Tian continued, "we locate the pleura and connective tissues beneath the chest cavity. Let's open it up."
With a deft movement, he sliced the flesh, exposing the esophagus.
Another pull—and out came the gizzard and part of the liver.
"See? When handling internal organs, move quickly and decisively," Jiang Tian instructed.
"Don't be sloppy, or the blood from the organs will contaminate the incision site, ruining the meat quality."
Then, he took his knife and, with a single clean stroke, separated the bird's butt.
Finally, he cut along the seams, effortlessly breaking down the entire Ice Crystal Bird into perfectly portioned cuts.
Although he moved slower than usual—explaining each step in detail—his movements were still fluid.
Xue Xiao, watching from the side, had an odd expression.
Jiang Tian was incredibly strong.
It was no wonder he had single-handedly broken the legs of the freshmen during the entrance exam.
This was a Level 2 Ice Crystal Bird, a creature with an exceptionally durable body.
Yet Jiang Tian decomposed it effortlessly, as if cutting tofu.
And then a terrifying thought crossed her mind.
If Jiang Tian wielded a kitchen knife on the battlefield—
Wouldn't the Ice Crystal Birds be butchered like food in the middle of combat?
While Xue Xiao was lost in thought, Jiang Tian lifted the fully dissected Ice Crystal Bird and reviewed it with the class.
Then, he instructed them to return to their tasks while he began cooking for his master's wife.
But at that moment—
BOOM!!!
A violent explosion erupted, shaking the entire campus.
The deafening roar reverberated through the air.
Instantly, the campus-wide alarm blared, drowning out everything else.
Every face in the special cafeteria turned pale.
"Stay here! I'll check it out!" Xue Xiao ordered before bolting out of the kitchen.
Then—
Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!
Phones across the kitchen vibrated simultaneously.
Jiang Tian pulled out his phone—his screen flashing red.
A map automatically opened, displaying a single bright red dot.
Around it, red ripples pulsed outward in expanding waves.
His eyes narrowed.
He knew exactly what this meant.
A time-space disaster.
The space-time gate at Hongwu University's new campus was about to fully activate.
