Travis appeared midair, hovering high above the foreign world beneath him. His sharp gaze scanned the landscape, taking in the rolling forests, winding rivers, and distant mountains. Compared to Bleach's universe, this world felt less formidable—its power system structured differently. Yet, there were still strong opponents here, warriors skilled in their own right.
A smirk tugged at his lips.' The world of Naruto. '
Naruto's story was one of perseverance and ambition, centering around a young, determined ninja striving to become Hokage. Along the way, he faced trials that tested his very soul, like the legendary battle against Pain. But while Naruto's struggles shaped him, Travis had no such obstacles—no one here could rival him.
Still… that didn't mean he couldn't have fun.
His senses expanded, locking onto the familiar presence of the Hidden Leaf Village. Without hesitation, he propelled himself forward.
Fshhh—
The wind howled around him as he streaked through the sky, a blur too fast for the human eye to track. The trees beneath swayed violently, leaves scattering in his wake as he cut through the air like a comet.
In mere moments, he materialized on the path leading to the village gates. Towering wooden doors stood ahead, their surface carved with intricate markings, a testament to the village's long history. The familiar scent of earth and chakra lingered in the air, bringing a nostalgic thrill.
However, Travis did not arrive in the same era as Naruto. Instead, he found himself in the time of Minato and Kushina, when they were still young and their relationship was just beginning to bloom.
Why this particular time period? The answer was simple—Kushina Uzumaki.
'I've always liked her feisty vibe. Might as well make her mine,' Travis mused, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. His crimson eyes glowed faintly as he considered his next move. 'First, I need to establish myself as an important ninja in the Leaf. At this moment, Hiruzen is still Hokage… I should write myself in as a shinobi with status. That'll keep things smooth and avoid unnecessary questions.'
With that settled, he stepped forward, his figure blending seamlessly into the environment as he walked along the open path leading to the village. Towering trees flanked both sides of the road, their leaves rustling in the gentle breeze. Sunlight peeked through the gaps, casting shifting patterns on the dirt path beneath his feet.
As he neared the entrance, two guards came into view—both unfamiliar faces, not the ones from the original series. Their eyes brightened the moment they spotted him.
"Hey, it's Travis! How was the mission, man?" one of them called out, grinning.
"Pretty successful," Travis replied smoothly, adjusting the strap of the weapon pouch on his waist. "I need to go see old man Hiruzen and report everything to him."
"Gotcha. We won't hold you up, but we should grab some drinks sometime," the other guard suggested, his tone friendly.
Travis exhaled through his nose in mild amusement. "I'm never free, but I'll see what I can do. Peace." Without slowing his stride, he walked past them and into the bustling village.
The streets of Konoha were alive with activity. Vendors called out their latest deals, children ran through the alleys laughing, and shinobi moved about on their daily routines. As he passed, many villagers greeted him with warm smiles, some even giving him respectful nods.
It was no surprise—after all, he had written himself into the history of the village as a hero.
'Now… time to meet that useless-ass Hokage they call Hiruzen,' Travis thought, a smirk creeping back onto his face as he made his way through the village.
Travis walked through the village at a steady pace, hands in his pockets as he took in the surroundings. The familiar layout of Konoha, with its traditional wooden buildings and narrow streets, was just as he expected from the series, though experiencing it firsthand was something else entirely. The scent of grilled meat and fresh bread wafted from a nearby food stall, and he caught snippets of casual conversations from the passing villagers.
Despite the peaceful atmosphere, his mind was focused on his objective. He didn't come here to sightsee—he had plans, and those started with setting the groundwork for his status in Konoha.
As he reached the Hokage Building, he didn't bother announcing himself and instead pushed through the entrance with ease. The receptionists barely looked up when they saw who it was.
"Travis-sama, the Hokage is currently reviewing mission reports, but I'm sure he'll make time for you," one of them said with a polite nod.
"Yeah, he better," Travis muttered under his breath, striding forward.
When he reached Hiruzen's office, he didn't hesitate to push the door open without knocking. The old man sat at his desk, pipe in hand, surrounded by neatly stacked papers. His aged eyes lifted toward Travis, showing no surprise at the sudden intrusion.
"Travis," Hiruzen greeted, exhaling a thin trail of smoke. "I take it your mission was a success?"
Travis stepped forward, resting a hand casually on his hip. "Of course. You didn't send me out expecting failure, did you?"
Hiruzen chuckled, shaking his head. "No, I suppose not. Still, it's always good to hear the details from the man himself. Have a seat."
Travis remained standing. "No need. The mission went as expected. Enemy forces eliminated, information retrieved. If you need a full report, I'll have one written up, but you already know how I handle things."
The Hokage studied him for a moment before nodding. "Indeed. Your contributions to the village have been invaluable, Travis. Konoha is fortunate to have you."
Travis smirked. 'Damn right.'
"Now then," Hiruzen continued, setting his pipe down. "Was there anything else?"
Travis leaned slightly forward, his gaze sharp. "Actually, yeah. I want a higher-ranking position. Something that gives me more influence. If I'm going to keep protecting this village, I should have the authority to make decisions that matter."
Hiruzen regarded him carefully, his expression unreadable. "You've certainly proven yourself, but such promotions aren't given lightly. What exactly do you have in mind?"
Travis folded his arms. "I'm not asking to be Hokage, old man. I just want enough pull to move how I want without constantly needing clearance. You know I get results."
The Hokage sighed, rubbing his temple. "I'll consider it. However, these things take time—"
"You don't need time," Travis interrupted, his voice unwavering. "You already know what I bring to the table. Just make it happen."
Hiruzen exhaled slowly, his gaze meeting Travis' for a long moment. Finally, he gave a small nod. "Very well. I'll see what can be arranged. But remember, influence comes with responsibility. I trust you won't abuse it."
Travis smirked. "You don't have to worry about that."
'That's exactly what I'm gonna do.'
With that settled, Travis turned on his heel and left the office, a sense of satisfaction settling in.
Now, onto the next phase—Kushina.
