Chapter 24 - The power of past descendant

Luz had endured the trials of the Minoan Maze, defeating the powerful Minotaurs that guarded its secrets. Wounded and exhausted, he pressed forward, determined to find what he came for.

Finally, after what felt like an endless journey, he reached the center of the maze.

There, floating in the air, was the Astral Crystal.

It pulsed with a radiant glow, almost as if it was alive. The moment Luz laid eyes on it, he could hear it calling his name.

"This… this is so powerful," Luz whispered, stepping closer. "Like the power of a god…"

Suddenly, ghostly figures appeared around him. The spirits of past Light Descendants, watching him silently. Then, one figure stepped forward—the First Light Descendant himself.

"You must be Luz," the ancestor said, his voice echoing through the chamber. "The final Light Descendant."

Luz stared in awe. He had read about this warrior in ancient texts, but now he stood before him.

"Use this power to stop the darkness," the First Descendant continued. "But understand the cost… once you use it, you will die. Your soul will be absorbed into the crystal, just as ours were."

Luz swallowed hard. He had expected this power to come with a price, but hearing it confirmed made his heart heavy.

The First Descendant lifted his hand, revealing a vision. Luz saw Den and Hook approaching the maze's entrance.

"Den is not in Biringan. Now is your chance," the First Descendant said. "Take the crystal. Return to Biringan. Take back the city and put an end to the darkness."

Luz clenched his fists. This was it. His only chance to reclaim what had been lost.

"Put the crystal into your chest once you return," the First Descendant instructed. "It will take time to activate, but when it does, you will wield a power beyond anything you have ever known… even if only for a short while."

The past Light Descendants slowly faded, their final words lingering in the air.

"Good luck, our descendant."

Luz took a deep breath. He reached out, grasping the Astral Crystal in his hands. The energy surged through him, making his whole body tremble.

"I will not fail," he said.

With that, he turned and ran, heading straight back toward Biringan.

Meanwhile, at the entrance of the maze, Den and Hook arrived.

Den placed his hand against the massive stone door, grinning.

"I was right. Luz was here."

Hook cracked his knuckles. "Then let's move. If he found something, we need to take it from him."

They rushed inside, navigating the maze with speed. It took time, but eventually, they reached the center.

Den's eyes widened. The Astral Crystal was gone.

"Damn it!" Den growled. "He took it!"

Hook sighed, shaking his head. "So, what now?"

Den clenched his fist.

"We go back. Luz is heading to Biringan… and this time, I will make sure he dies."
