Chapter 34 - New alliances

Den clenched his fists, his rage still burning. He had lost to Kael.

Hook lay on a stretcher, barely conscious as Matthew treated him.

Den gritted his teeth and slammed his fist against the wall.

"I will kill that man."

Suddenly—

SCREAMS ECHOED.

Den turned his head.

The guards near the base's border were being slaughtered—one by one.

He walked toward the scene, unfazed.

As he approached, he saw a lone figure standing among the bodies.

The figure stepped forward, revealing her face.

Den's eyes widened.

"Liu…?"

It was their old classmate.

"Why are you here?" Den demanded.

Liu smirked, her tone playful yet sharp.

"Oh, Den… I just wanted to join forces with you."

Den observed her carefully.

She had changed—her presence felt even more dangerous than before.

But she wasn't alone.

Liu tilted her head.

"There's someone else."

Den raised an eyebrow. "Who?"

Liu chuckled.

"A man—stronger than anyone you've fought before."

"But… he's in prison."

Den's eyes narrowed. "A prisoner?"

Liu nodded.

"Yes. He was locked away for years because he was too dangerous. If we free him… he'll be the perfect addition to our forces."

Den crossed his arms.

"Who is this man?"

Liu's smile widened.

"His name is Victor."

Munfa lay on the bed, his body still weak, but his eyes were sharp.

Luz stood beside him.

Munfa took a deep breath.

"Luz… I found out the truth."

Luz tilted his head. "What truth?"

Munfa looked at him seriously.

"That man… Kael… he really was my best friend."

Luz's expression darkened.

Munfa continued.

"He never died."

"And more than that… he was the one who killed Bin."

Luz's fist clenched at those words.

Bin had been a legend—a warrior whose death changed everything.

Everyone believed Malakar had killed him.

But now—

Luz exhaled slowly, calming himself.

No use getting angry.

He looked at Munfa.

"I see."

Munfa turned to the two men who had saved him.

His eyes widened slightly as he finally recognized them.

"You two… saved me from death."

Jed gave a small nod. "Yes, we did."

Luz stepped forward.

"Munfa, let me introduce them properly."

He pointed to the swordsman.

"This is Jed. He's known for his mastery in swordsmanship."

Then he gestured toward the muscular fighter.

"And this is Marcus. A martial artist, just like Ino."

Munfa nodded.

Before they could speak further—

A soldier ran into the room, panting.

"Luz!"

Luz turned sharply. "What is it?"

The soldier's face was pale.

"Someone has broken into the—"

He stopped, hesitating.

"The what?" Luz pressed.

The soldier gulped.

"The… the prison."

Luz's eyes narrowed.

This wasn't just any prison.

It was the one built for Victor—a man so powerful that keeping him locked away was the only option.
