Chapter 1 - Unnamed

One day, Mizuki was walking and chatting with the hero's party, who were discussing an upcoming trip to a dungeon. It was night time.

"Can I come too?" Mizuki asked, his eyes wide with curiosity.

"Are you sure you want to come?" the healer asked, casting a concerned glance her way.

"Yeah, I'm sure. Why?" Mizuki's voice was light, but her curiosity was clearly piqued.

"But you've never been in a dungeon before," the healer said. "It's dark, cramped, and... scary."

The party's barbarian grinned mischievously. "Yeah, it's a real nightmare. You sure you're up for it, kiddo?" His tone was teasing, but Mizuki could hear the underlying warning.

"Yes, I am!" Mizuki huffed, then added, "I've been practicing my sword skills with the hero. So yes, I'm ready!"

The hero nodded in agreement, adding, "He's been training hard with me."

"No, I won't allow it," the healer said firmly, cutting them both off.

"But—" Mizuki started, but the healer interrupted him.

"No buts. I won't allow it," she repeated, her voice unwavering and determined.

The hero sighed, his brow furrowed. "Let him go," he said, though his voice held a note of uncertainty.

Mizuki's eyes flared with frustration. "Why do you treat me like a child? Just because I'm younger doesn't mean I'm helpless!" He took a step forward, his cheeks flushed with anger.

"No, we do not!" the healer exclaimed. "It's just that I don't want you to die!"

"Why the hell do you care so much for me?" Mizuki asked, curious as to why she cared so much for a boy she had only met months ago. It's not like they spoke much aside from the casual "How was your day?" or "What's for lunch?" Yet, she acted like a mother. Well, I don't really know the feeling well since I've only known the streets all my life. So how would I know the feeling of the warmth of getting hugged tightly or even a simple good morning or welcome home from anybody.

"Well, it's… complicated," the healer said, clearly not wanting to continue the subject. The other party members all looked at Mizuki, almost as if they didn't want him to speak any longer. Mizuki got the hint, huffed, and ran off, mad that they didn't want him to do anything until he was ready.

Mizuki was only 15, while the others were older. The hero was about 21, the barbarian was about 24, the necromancer was about 18, and the healer was young compared to the others—she was 16, just barely older than Mizuki.

The hero is a tall, blonde man with dark green eyes. He is the hero who is supposed to kill the demon king. The barbarian is a tall, muscular figure with black hair and red eyes. The necromancer is a dark-haired, purple-eyed, pale-skinned beauty who likes the color black.

The healer is different. She is a beautiful, well-nourished beauty, respected among her party members. She is like the mother of the party and a genius in her art, even among the best of divine magic users. Her rank is high and powerful. The healer is a Jack of Hearts, which is one of the highest ranks. She is so close to becoming part of the strongest in the world.

The barbarian of the party is the third strongest, but compared to the necromancer, he is weak, since the necromancer can summon thousands of monsters if you give him a minute. The number one flaw for the barbarian is that his agility is bad.

For the necromancer, it's the time it takes to summon. For the healer and the hero, it's that they are too nice and don't know the brutal truth of the world—they are naive.

While Mizuki has average looks, he's like a one-time NPC that appears when he's young and once again when he's old. He has black hair, dark brown eyes, is skinny, and pale. He thinks he is an NPC, which he isn't. He also has a crush on the healer. "I mean, who wouldn't?" Mizuki thought to himself.

'Compared to them, I'm just normal,' he said, clearly jealous, and thought to himself, 'It's unfair that they are strong and look good, but me, I'm weak and look average.'

'I even believe that the healer, known for rejecting everyone, likes the hero,' but this thought, he didn't want to be true.

He was walking through the woods when he encountered a goblin. The goblin looked as ugly as ever and Mizuki slayed him easily since he was 4 of diamonds while the goblin is still a spade.

Then Mizuki saw many more eyes, about 20 more goblins, all of them clearly about to attack him since their eyes looked blood thirsty.

The goblins attacked him, but Mizuki swung, hit one, then hit the other one. But then, the other hit him. Mizuki let out a scream of pain. He quickly shook off the goblin who was biting him and struck its head.

He got bit from all sides, his limbs ripped apart, but his regeneration kicked in. Because if there was one thing that he had all of the heroes beat in, it was his self-regeneration. He healed almost instantly. But the goblins kept biting and ripping, and he kept healing and healing. The pain was so much that no words left his mouth. His mind focused on the pain—he forgot to fight back.

And then, all of the goblins, their stomachs full, left.

The floor was wet from the tears Mizuki dropped. His hair looked different—changed from black to white.Mizuki on the brink of insanity .

Mizuki got up. Every step he took, his body felt as if knives were cutting off every one of his limbs. He went back to his house, where the party was staying.

He opened the door and was greeted with the sight of the necromancer looking straight at him, not knowing what had happened. The others were at the dungeon.

Mizuki then spoke and said, "Aren't you supposed to be in the dungeon?"

The necromancer said tiredly, "No, they didn't let me go since it was for the heroes' training."

Mizuki sighed and said, "Well, I'm going to bed."

As he was walking up the stairs, a hand grabbed him. It was the healer, who had just gotten back and looked concerned for him. The necromancer turned on the light and saw his state. Both hurried to him, concern etched on their faces.

"What happened?" The healer asked as the necromancer went to go get the other members.

The other members came into the room and took one look and understood what had happened.
