Dai Mubai, with a pair of twins in his arms, was on his way to check into a hotel. When he saw Zhu Zhuqing, and then Chen Yuan and Ning Rongrong, his eyes turned bloodshot, and his breathing quickened. The resentment and anger in his heart were palpable.
Zhu Zhuqing refused to say a word to him, instead choosing to stay close to Chen Yuan and Ning Rongrong. This made Dai Mubai feel as though his head was adorned with a lush, green meadow.
Judging others by his own standards, Dai Mubai knew exactly what kind of person he was. Seeing this scene, he assumed Zhu Zhuqing was just like him.
Although he no longer dared to provoke Chen Yuan and Ning Rongrong, the situation between him and Zhu Zhuqing made him unable to resist issuing a threat:
"Zhu Zhuqing, don't forget your identity. Our fates have long been sealed. Don't think that by clinging to another man, you can kick me aside and break free from these chains alone."

He reached out and took Ning Rongrong's hand. Her hand was soft and delicate, making it hard to let go. When Ning Rongrong looked at him, he gave her a reassuring smile before turning to Zhu Zhuqing and saying:
"Zhuqing, if you want to clarify things, go ahead. If you don't want to, I'll just send him away so he doesn't ruin our meal."
As Zhu Zhuqing heard these words, her gaze fell on the sight of Chen Yuan and Ning Rongrong holding hands. Chen Yuan's thoughtfulness and care were evident at all times. In comparison, Dai Mubai was a scumbag—no, even worse than a scumbag.
She stepped forward, wanting to set the record straight. Dai Mubai's malicious slander had filled her with utter disgust. Her voice was melodious but carried an icy chill:
"Dai Mubai, I'm not as despicable as you think. But you're even more vile than I imagined. So, you still remember our identities? Then tell me, what have you been doing all these years?"
"You fled the family, leaving me alone there. You came to this remote little place thousands of miles away, spending your days frolicking with various women. Have you been having fun?"
Dai Mubai, as if provoked, shoved the twins aside. The twins, seeing the situation, decided to save face and walked away without a word.
Their departure went unnoticed. Dai Mubai's face darkened as he said:
"If you hadn't refused to even speak to me, why would I have gone out to have fun? Besides, how are you any different from me?"
Zhu Zhuqing's chest heaved with anger. She hadn't expected Dai Mubai to be so shameless. Clenching her teeth, she said coldly:
"If I don't talk to you, you go out and find other women? Is there anything in your head besides women? Can't you control your lower half? You're so obsessed with those things—have you ever thought about cultivating? You've sunk into depravity, and that's what I hate most about you."
"You're weak, spineless. You don't even have the courage to stand in front of me and protect me. Yet you expect me to treat you kindly? You know our future fate, but you don't dare to fight against it. You're a coward."
"I don't care how many women you have. With our backgrounds, it's impossible to have a monogamous relationship. But if you had the courage to fight alongside me, if you died in battle, I would follow you. If you succeeded, even if you took my sister and made us both serve you, I wouldn't say a word against it."

Without another glance at Dai Mubai, she turned and walked back to Chen Yuan and Ning Rongrong. She bowed slightly and said softly:
"I'm very sorry you had to witness that. If my presence is causing trouble for you, I'll leave now."
Chen Yuan replied with ease:
"Don't worry. It's good to clear things up. Let's go eat now. If that guy shows up again, I won't give him a chance to speak. Explanations are only given once. After that, it's just harassment."
Ning Rongrong's eyes sparkled with a smile. She only needed to compare Dai Mubai to Chen Yuan to see the vast difference between people.
She let go of Chen Yuan's hand and stepped forward to link arms with Zhu Zhuqing. The two girls whispered to each other as they walked ahead.
Chen Yuan followed behind them. No one paid any more attention to Dai Mubai. He was like a stray dog on the side of the road, completely unnoticed.
