Rayan trudged home, his heart heavy with the weight of his recent dismissal from Suro Industries. As he stepped through the front door, he knew he would have to break the news to Sarah - the woman who had stood by him through thick and thin.
He found Sarah in the kitchen, preparing dinner. "Hey, you're home early," she said with a warm smile, her eyes sparkling with affection. "How was your day?"
Rayan took a deep breath, the words caught in his throat. "Sarah, I... I lost my job today."
Sarah's expression shifted instantly, her brow furrowing with concern. "What? How? What happened?"
Rayan recounted the events of the day - the reprimand from his manager, the confrontation with Billiard, and the unceremonious termination of his employment. As he spoke, Sarah's face darkened, her lips pressed into a tight line.
"So, let me get this straight," she said, her voice laced with frustration. "You were caught slacking off, wasting company time on your own personal projects, and then you had the audacity to mouth off to the CEO? Rayan, how could you be so careless?"
Rayan winced at the harsh tone, his shoulders slumping. "I know, I know. I got carried away, and I let my frustrations get the better of me. But this job was killing me, Sarah. I couldn't keep going on like that, trapped in a cubicle, living someone else's dream."
"And now what? What are we supposed to do?" Sarah's voice rose, the strain of uncertainty evident. "We have bills to pay, a lease to uphold. How are we going to survive without a steady income?"
Rayan reached out to her, but she recoiled, her eyes glistening with tears. "Don't, Rayan. Don't try to sweet-talk your way out of this. You've put us in a terrible position, and I'm not sure I can keep living with your stubbornness and reckless behavior."
Sarah turned away, her arms crossed protectively over her chest. "Maybe it's time for me to find a new place to live, a new lover who isn't so determined to burn down everything we've built together."
Rayan's heart sank, the weight of her words crushing him. "Sarah, please, don't leave. I know I messed up, but I can fix this. I have a plan, a way to turn things around. Just give me a chance, please."
But Sarah shook her head, her resolve unwavering. "I'm done, Rayan. I can't keep waiting for you to figure it out. This is the last straw." With that, she stormed out of the apartment, slamming the door behind her.
Rayan stood there, alone in the silence, his dreams of a brighter future crumbling around him. He had lost everything – his job, his stability, and now, the woman he loved.
