Chapter 81 - Childe: So Where's Morax?!

Paimon was utterly confused at this moment. She had no idea what Jiang Chen and Lumine were talking about. Lumine had already started pinching her cheeks hard.

"What are you doing?!"

"Let go, let go, Lumine, you're hurting me!"

"What did I do to you?"

"Stupid Lumine, how could you treat me like this?!"

You didn't even explain what I did wrong. Now you're just bullying me. Sniff, sniff, Lumine is so mean.

"Hmph!"

"You look like the god who stopped us from leaving back then."

"Tell me, do you have any connection to her?"

As she spoke, Lumine's expression suddenly darkened.

"Or are you her?"

This last sentence sent a shiver down Paimon's spine.

"No!!"

"I'm not, I didn't, don't talk nonsense!"

"Paimon is not a god!"

"And I never stopped you, Lumine!"

False accusations are easy to make. Lumine, stop messing around. Don't stir up trouble.

Seeing Paimon's reaction, Lumine snorted.

"You better not be."

Lumine huffed. After bullying Paimon for a while, she finally stopped. Lumine didn't dwell too much on Paimon's identity. The current Paimon was just fine. There was no need to overthink things.

While the two of them were fooling around, Jiang Chen quickly drafted a simple plan and handed it to Ganyu.

"Take a look?"

Hearing Jiang Chen's words, Ganyu hurriedly took it and began flipping through it. What Jiang Chen had written was more like an outline, but it clearly pointed out the various benefits that developing mechanical vehicles could bring. After a quick glance, Ganyu's eyes lit up.

"This is great!"

"I'll hand it over to Ningguang."

With this, Ningguang would know what to do next. There were many things involved, but it could also bring in a lot of money. If these mechanical vehicles were successfully developed, they could even be sold to other nations. The potential benefits were immense.

"Set up the mechanical workshop directly in the Guili Plains."

"Make sure to mention this to Ningguang."

"In the future, that area will be developed into an industrial city."

Jiang Chen gave Ganyu some instructions. The vehicles produced in the early stages would be for their own use. Later, production could be moved to the Guili Plains. Building a city from scratch was no simple task. There were many factors to consider. Once the city was built, it would need its own industrial chain, right? Relying solely on funding from Liyue Harbor? That clearly wouldn't work. Neither Jiang Chen nor Ningguang would be happy with that. So, preparing an industrial chain for the area was a top priority. It had to be done. The mechanical vehicles were Jiang Chen's first step. In the future, various mechanical technologies would flourish, and the technologies of his previous world would be recreated in this world through alchemy and mechanics.

Hearing Jiang Chen's words, Ganyu was momentarily stunned.

"Alright!"

"I understand."

Ganyu would relay Jiang Chen's ideas to Ningguang. At the same time, she realized that Jiang Chen was planning to establish an industrial chain in the Guili Plains. After discussing this with Jiang Chen, Ganyu left. She would go and inform Ningguang about these matters.

Lumine glanced at Jiang Chen and then spoke up with anticipation:

"I'm really looking forward to seeing all the technologies you'll bring to life."

"Although the methods are different, this is like entering modernization, right?"

Mentioning this, Lumine felt incredibly excited. Just imagine, if Jiang Chen developed the world to that extent, how spectacular it would be. Every aspect of life would be affected, right? In the future, she could travel to any nation she wanted. And if networks and such were developed, wouldn't it be easier to find her brother? Lumine was fully supportive of Jiang Chen being a civil servant here.

After spending some time in Jiang Chen's office, Lumine left. Ningguang had gifted Jiang Chen a house, and there were many things that needed to be arranged. Lumine was currently staying there as well. Now that she had some free time, she decided to go back and organize the house. With this in mind, Lumine and Paimon went out to shop for supplies.

While Jiang Chen and the others were busy with their respective tasks, Childe was also working hard to gather information. Morax had appeared, but then he disappeared again. This left Childe extremely frustrated. Damn it, he needed that Gnosis! But now Morax was nowhere to be found? This was ridiculous! If he couldn't find Morax, how was he supposed to complete his mission? Unlike in the game, where Morax's "death" made it easy for Childe to find his remains, the current Morax was very much alive. He had simply retired. Because of this, Childe was having a hard time locating him. He could only order the Fatui to search everywhere for Morax. The Millelith had also noticed the increased activity of the Fatui recently. Naturally, this didn't escape Zhongli's notice.

At the moment, Zhongli had just asked Childe to help purchase a batch of wood. He was in a rather good mood. He glanced at Childe, pondering how to get him to release Osial. Childe was searching everywhere for him, but he had no idea that Zhongli was right beside him. If this continued, Childe would probably try to force him out, right? Childe had already created the Sigils of Permission. All that was left was for him to use them. However, there was no rush for now. Take it slow. This wallet couldn't be discarded just yet. Let him keep busy for a while. Thinking this, Zhongli happily sipped his tea. He was in a great mood.

Childe, on the other hand, was feeling quite troubled. He was currently in his office at the Northland Bank, reviewing the latest reports. He hadn't found Morax. Similarly, the Fatui in Mondstadt hadn't located Barbatos either. This was incredibly frustrating.

"Off to a bad start."

Childe sighed. This was too much to handle. The news wasn't good. If this continued, things wouldn't work out. Thinking this, Childe frowned. Should he really use the Sigils of Permission? If he did, the Fatui would have no room to maneuver in Liyue. He didn't want to resort to that unless absolutely necessary. For now, Childe was stuck in a dilemma. What should he do? After some thought, Childe decided to keep searching. No matter what, he had to keep looking. Especially in the mountainous regions of Liyue. He hoped to find traces of Morax there.

Looking up at the window, Childe realized the time. Hmm, it's about that time. Let's go find Mr. Zhongli for some fun. The thought of Zhongli made Childe feel a bit frustrated. Mr. Zhongli spent way too much money. Recently, Childe had noticed that his funds were being stretched thin. He hoped the Treasurer wouldn't come after him for this. All of this was for Her Majesty the Tsaritsa! Spending a bit more money might make it easier to find Morax, right?
