Chapter 77 - Su Feng: Am I in Danger if I Meet a Froslass?

As expected, the courier sent to retrieve the documents was none other than Jin, the ever-diligent soldier.

Old Chen had tasked him with collecting Su Feng's classified materials. Though Jin didn't know the specifics, Old Chen's seriousness hinted at their importance.

"Hey, you're here."

Su Feng opened the door to find Jin standing at attention, clearly having gone straight from one mission to another.

Shaking his head at Jin's workaholic tendencies, Su Feng tossed a thick folder from the shoe rack.

Jin fumbled to catch it.

"Careful, that's important," Su Feng teased.

Jin's eye twitched. If it's so important, why'd you throw it like trash?

"Want to come in for a drink?" Su Feng gestured to the cola on the table.

"...No thanks."

"Alright, see you around."

The door slammed shut, nearly hitting Jin's nose.

Jin: "…"

Back inside, Su Feng checked his phone. The next livestream location had been decided: the snowy plains near H City.

"Snowy plains, huh…" Su Feng murmured, feeling a mix of excitement and apprehension.

As a southerner, he'd rarely seen snow, let alone the vast, white landscapes of the north.

Preparing for the extreme cold, Su Feng exchanged points for a lightweight thermal suit and other survival gear.

The next morning, he boarded a high-speed train to H City, arriving five hours later.

Stepping off the train, a wave of icy air hit him. After a taxi ride to the outskirts, Su Feng trekked an hour into the snowy wilderness before launching his drone and starting the stream.

[Timer's up! 58 hours, 6 minutes, 29 seconds since the last stream. Even a workhorse wouldn't rest this long!]

[What kind of stalker keeps track like that?]

[Is this the snowy plains? Feng's efficiency is unreal!]

[Wait, is it snowing? It's spring!]

[Yep, snowing. When it's cold enough, rain turns to snow. Not unusual.]

Su Feng looked up, noticing the light snowfall.

"Hey everyone, I'm Su Feng, your average Pokémon educator and part-time trainer."

"As you can see, I'm in the snowy plains near H City. It's remote—I'm not even sure where exactly. If something goes wrong, rescue's unlikely."

"But don't worry. I'm a seasoned explorer with survival skills. I won't recklessly endanger myself."

"Oh, and don't try this at home. Even pros shouldn't."

It's freaking cold.

Rubbing his hands for warmth, Su Feng trudged deeper into the snow.

[Perfect for reaction images!]

Su Feng: "…"

You guys are relentless.

Turning to Combusken and Haunter, he asked, "You two really not cold?"

"Combusken!" Combusken thumped its chest, invigorated by the harsh environment.

"Gastly~" Haunter, being gaseous, seemed unfazed.

Satisfied, Su Feng pressed on.

"Any guesses what Pokémon live here?" he asked the chat.

[Polar bears? Penguins?]

[Fun fact: Polar bears are in the Arctic, penguins in the Antarctic. They don't overlap.]

[In Japanese folklore, there's a snow woman called Yuki-onna. Wonder if Feng'll meet her.]

[This is a material world! No such thing as ghosts!]

[Uh… Pokémon defy nature too. Your point?]

Su Feng chuckled. "Human snow women? Dunno. But Pokémon have Froslass."

"Froslass, an all-female species, supposedly freeze men and Pokémon into ice sculptures and drag them to their caves."

"Though they're picky—only handsome guys are targets. So you're all safe."

He paused, frowning.

"Wait… does that mean I'm in danger?"
