Su Feng carefully examined the small Pokémon Egg. Though icy to the touch, he reasoned that was normal for an Ice-type. The delicate blue patterns hinted at a visually striking Pokémon inside, but without more clues, its identity remained a mystery.
After a moment's hesitation, he gently placed the Egg back in the hollow tree, covering it with weeds to conceal it.
Maybe its parents left it here temporarily. They could return any minute.
With a final glance at the hidden Egg, Su Feng adjusted his backpack and called Haunter over, ready to ascend the summit.
[Wait, you're just leaving the Egg?]
[I wanted to see what hatched! Baby Pokémon are adorable.]
[Feng's not the type to take it. Imagine the parents' panic if they came back to find it gone.]
[Exactly. Pokémon are intelligent—they must've had a good reason to leave it here.]
Warmed by his audience's empathy, Su Feng pressed onward. The path to the summit was barren, nothing but endless snow.
Thirty minutes later, he reached the peak—but instead of the blizzard's mythical source, he found two Pokémon locked in a tense standoff.
Reacting swiftly, Su Feng pulled Combusken and Haunter behind a rocky outcrop, signaling for silence.
On one side: a dragon-like bird with cottony wings (Altaria). On the other: an ethereal, ice-dusted moth (Frosmoth).
[Whoa, that moth's gorgeous!]
[The blue bird's hilarious—is that a scarf or its wings?]
[A moth vs. a bird? Bold strategy.]
[Shouldn't birds hard-counter bugs?]
[They seem evenly matched somehow…]
"Altaria and Frosmoth," Su Feng whispered.
"Altaria, the Humming Pokémon. Dragon/Flying-type. Its sky-blue wings resemble clouds, and its songs are legendary."
"Frosmoth, the Ice Moth Pokémon. Ice/Bug-type. Its translucent wings scatter diamond-dust scales. The 'scarf' is actually its arms."
[Wait, a Bug fighting a Dragon?]
[RIP moth. Dragons OP.]
[But why's a bird part Dragon? That's weird.]
[Ice wrecks Dragon and Flying. Frosmoth's got a shot!]
"Not so fast," Su Feng cautioned. "Frosmoth's also weak to Flying. It's a glass cannon against Altaria."
"Altaria's fluffy wings cushion damage. Even with the type disadvantage, it can tank hits."
"This is a battle of endurance vs. burst. Altaria's favored, but Frosmoth has home-field advantage…"
As he spoke, the two Pokémon clashed.
Altaria shot skyward, then divebombed as a blue comet—Brave Bird.
Frosmoth retaliated with a Blizzard, plunging the mountaintop into a deadly storm.
The sudden cold forced Su Feng to duck. This blizzard… it's familiar.
But Frosmoth alone couldn't have caused the earlier storm. Something else is at play.
Undeterred, Altaria tore through the icy maelstrom and slammed into Frosmoth, sending it crashing to the ground.
As the blizzard faded, Frosmoth struggled up, gathering energy for another attack—only for Altaria to strike first with Dual Wingbeat, nearly knocking it off the cliff.
Standing victorious, Altaria scoffed.
"You think this is enough to serve that one?"
