Chapter 93 - The Might of Legends

[Sorry, I didn't catch that earlier. Did the streamer just say it could freeze an entire large city in an instant?]

[If my ears aren't playing tricks on me, that's what it sounded like.]

[Hahaha, fake, this has to be fake! The streamer's just making things up!]

[Another one's lost it. Take them away.]

[Feng, it's not that we don't want to believe you, but what you're explaining this time is a bit too unbelievable.]

Su Feng scratched his head. The audience's reaction was within his expectations. After all, the power of Legendary Pokémon was something hard to accept unless witnessed firsthand.

However, he felt it was necessary to clarify things about Legendary Pokémon.

"Ahem, I know it's hard for you to believe in the existence and power of Legendary Pokémon, but what I'm saying is the truth."

"Legendary Pokémon aren't just about possessing immense power. They also bear responsibilities like protecting the world, maintaining balance, and safeguarding both humans and Pokémon."

"For example, Kyurem. If humanity and Pokémon face a crisis capable of destroying the world, it will forcibly fuse with the other two Legendary Pokémon representing ideals and reality to fill the void within its body, transforming into two even more powerful forms."

"Once it gains sufficient strength, it will protect the ideal world that humans and Pokémon strive to achieve in the future. That's why Kyurem is also known as the Chaos Dragon bridging ideals and reality."

[Ideals and reality? There are Legendary Pokémon representing such abstract concepts?]

[Kyurem can get even stronger? Could it plunge the entire world into an ice age?]

[Honestly, that's downright terrifying. What if one of these deities gets pissed off one day? Are we all doomed?]

[A crisis so dire that even Kyurem has to intervene? Is the world about to end?]

[Mom, Earth is too dangerous. I want to go back to Mars!]

Realizing how much his words had shaken the audience, Su Feng quickly tried to reassure them.

"But there's no need to worry. Most Legendary Pokémon are very friendly toward humans. As for the more malevolent ones, they're usually in a deep slumber, with another Legendary Pokémon constantly monitoring them to prevent their awakening and potential harm to the world."

"Beyond that, there are Legendary Pokémon revered as incarnations of the earth and sea, others said to have brought sunlight and moonlight to the world in legends, and even those that control abstract concepts like time and space."

"These Legendary Pokémon are just as powerful as Kyurem."

"However, they're like myths—rarely appearing in public view. Some people might never encounter a Legendary Pokémon in their entire lives."

[That makes sense. Kyurem might be scary, but it communicated normally with the streamer, and the fact that the streamer is unharmed proves it doesn't harm people indiscriminately.]

[Aside from this encounter, there really aren't any other news or online records about Legendary Pokémon.]

[Wait, is it possible that we've actually encountered Legendary Pokémon before but just didn't recognize them?]

[Huh, you might be onto something.]

[Come to think of it, when Pokémon first appeared, if these Legendary Pokémon had acted freely, humanity wouldn't have stood a chance.]

[Thank goodness our country, Long Guo, stopped the war with Pokémon early on.]

[All we can do is wish those countries still fighting Pokémon the best of luck.]

"Exactly. Everyone, just go about your lives as usual. If the sky falls, there'll be taller people to hold it up."

Seeing the audience calm down, Su Feng breathed a sigh of relief. If his explanation about Legendary Pokémon had caused widespread panic, the guilt would've been unbearable.

However, he didn't plan to delve deeper into Legendary Pokémon. A detailed discussion could easily take days.

"Whew~ It's getting late. Time to head back."

Clutching the Pokémon Egg in his arms, Su Feng began ascending the ravine.

"If you ever encounter a Legendary Pokémon capable of human speech, it's best to communicate with reverence. You might receive unexpected rewards."

"If you learn of a Legendary Pokémon's whereabouts, don't spread the news carelessly. They dislike being disturbed."

"The power of Legendary Pokémon is beyond what ordinary Pokémon can match. Even if you have strong Pokémon partners, never provoke them, or you'll face the consequences."

"..."

Su Feng spent the entire journey explaining precautions when encountering Legendary Pokémon. After an hour of trekking, he finally made it back above ground.

"Going uphill is way more exhausting than going downhill," Su Feng remarked with a sigh.

The snow on the ground was gradually melting, and the spot where the withered tree had stood was now a massive muddy pit, its roots torn out.

Glancing at the Pokémon Egg in his arms, Su Feng thought for a moment and decided to take it home to raise himself, no matter what Pokémon was inside.

Two days had passed since he found the Egg, and there'd been no sign of its parents. He didn't know whether it had been abandoned or if its parents were in some dire situation that kept them away.

Besides, if its parents were truly responsible, they wouldn't have left it unattended for two whole days, right?

Cradling the Egg, Su Feng slowly made his way down the mountain.

Perhaps due to the melting snow or the aftermath of the avalanche, Su Feng spotted many Ice-type Pokémon on his way back.

"That round, rolling Pokémon is Spheal. They usually move by tumbling around. Pretty cute, huh?"

"Those white worm-like Pokémon are Snom, the pre-evolved form of Frosmoth. Since mountains rarely have plants, they've adapted to derive nutrients from snow. They especially love fresh, fluffy snow right after a snowfall. If you come out just after snow falls in the mountains, you'll likely see them."

"Oh? Those over there are Sneasel. They're very cunning Pokémon, even hunting in teams. They particularly enjoy stealing eggs, so they don't have the best reputation among Pokémon."

"Those are Delibird. The bag they carry is actually their tail. They have a habit of sharing food with humans and other Pokémon, making them very popular in icy regions. Plus, if you're ever stranded on a snowy mountain, Delibird will share their food to help you."

As if hearing Su Feng's introduction, a Delibird looked up and spotted him. Waddling like a penguin, it approached and pulled out a frozen fish from its bag, offering it to Su Feng.

"It thinks I'm a stranded survivor."

Su Feng couldn't help but laugh.
