Chapter 120 - The Dangerous Volcanic Zone

"Let's stop here." Su Feng gently patted Gengar's back.

They had arrived at the base of the volcano. Though Gengar could have carried him further, Su Feng preferred to hike up slowly—both to document the journey and to introduce any Pokémon they encountered along the way.

Gazing up at the towering peak, Su Feng murmured, "I wonder if we'll actually find Moltres."

The volcanic terrain stretched endlessly before him, rivers of exposed magma sluggishly inching forward, their surfaces bubbling violently. Toxic fumes hung thick in the air, and the occasional spatter of molten rock hissed against the ground. Even a single droplet could inflict catastrophic burns.

This volcano had appeared alongside Pokémon, filling a geological gap in China's landscape.

Before ascending, Su Feng geared up—donning a heat-resistant suit, gas mask, and goggles from his backpack. The system-provided gear fit perfectly, flexible enough for strenuous activity yet impervious to extreme conditions.

He released Combusken first. The Fire-type perked up instantly, the scorching air energizing it like oxygen to a flame.

With everything set, Su Feng launched his drone and began the stream.

"Hey everyone, long time no see!" He waved at the camera.

The early viewers were regulars, but with international newcomers tuning in, Su Feng reintroduced himself. Despite the mask, his voice came through clearly, filtered by the system.

[How long is "long"?]

[86 hours, 14 minutes, 09 seconds. Now 10.]

[Creepy timekeeper's still here.]

[Is this China?]

[Extreme biomes host deadly monsters. This guy's insane for venturing here.]

[Feng-ge! More Poké Ball giveaways, please!]

[Got a Premier Ball! My Slowpoke loves it!]

[Only a standard Poké Ball here…]

["Only"? Try getting NOTHING.]

[What's a Poké Ball?]

[Where even is this? Barren wasteland…]

[Didn't you see the preview? It's a VOLCANO.]

"Correct." Su Feng's voice echoed slightly through the mask. "I'm at the foot of N City's volcano, here to document its Pokémon ecosystem—and maybe spot the Legendary Moltres."

[That golden bird from the eruption footage?]

[Yep. Feng-ge ID'd it in the comments.]

[Magma's 1000°C+. Surviving that? Legendary indeed.]

Su Feng chuckled. "You'd be surprised. Plenty of non-Legendary Pokémon thrive in such extremes."

"Take Magmar, for instance. Their baseline body temperature is 1200°C. To them, magma's a lukewarm bath—sleeping in it is routine."

[Sleeping in LAVA? How?!]

[Carbon-based life shouldn't survive that… but this is Pokémon logic.]

[Ghosts exist, so lava naps are whatever.]

[Ghosts? What ghosts?]

Su Feng sighed at the confused foreign comments. Couldn't Arceus recruit more global ambassadors?

Pulling out a trekking pole, he tossed his backpack into his shadow for Gengar to safeguard. The pole wasn't just for climbing—it probed the ground ahead, testing for hidden magma pools disguised by ash. One misstep could melt his boots instantly.

Two hundred meters in, the first wild Pokémon appeared: a small, Doberman-like creature with white markings circling its legs and muzzle. It tilted its head, studying Su Feng curiously.

[Is that a puppy? So cute!]

[Love dog/cat Pokémon! Zero resistance!]

[Those white bands—are they accessories? Tamed?]

"Nope. Those 'accessories' are natural body markings," Su Feng explained.

"This is Houndour, a Dark/Fire-type dubbed the 'Dark Puppy Pokémon.' Don't let its playful looks fool you—it matures into a fiercely loyal and powerful companion."
