Chapter 122 - Foreigners: What Are You Even Talking About...

Su Feng blinked. "Magmar?"

The Slugma nodded eagerly. "Gurgle! (Yes! Magmar knows everything! We always ask it for help!)"

Su Feng was surprised. He hadn't expected a "teacher" figure among the volcano's Pokémon. Compared to the clueless Slugma, this Magmar sounded far more reliable.

The Slugma stared at him expectantly.

Su Feng hesitated. While giving it another Poké Puff wasn't a big deal, he didn't want to overfeed the childlike Pokémon. "Sorry, I'm all out," he lied.

The Slugma didn't seem disappointed. "Gurgle~ (That's okay! Good luck finding Moltres, human!)"

With that, it resumed its slow crawl toward the magma.

"What a sweet kid," Su Feng murmured. If Slugma could store Poké Puffs, he'd have gifted it a whole bag.

[What did it say?!]

[Is this guy… talking to the monsters?]

[Feng-ge, where can I buy those treats? My kid wants to try!]

[Yeah, how do you bribe Pokémon so easily?]

Su Feng paused. He'd given Old Chen the Berry Blender blueprints but hadn't shared any recipes.

"Tell you what—when I get back, I'll publish some Poké Puff recipes. You'll just need a Berry Blender to make them."

"Fair warning, though: They're tricky to perfect. Buying premade ones might be easier."

The Chinese viewers cheered. The foreigners, however, were lost.

[What are you even talking about...?]

Following Slugma's directions, Su Feng soon spotted two Magmar sprinting in panic—one carrying a Magby.

He intercepted them. "Excuse me, are you Magmar, the one who knows everything?"

"Mag? (A human?)" The Magmar hesitated but brushed past. "Mag. (Later. We're busy.)"

"Wait—are you taking Magby to a doctor?" Su Feng called out.

"Mag! (Out of the way!)" The Magmar growled.

"Mag. (Honey, hurry! The forest Chansey might still be there!)"

Despite their urgency, they carefully avoided touching Su Feng—their 1200°C bodies could kill a human instantly.

Su Feng shouted after them: "I might be able to help!"

The Magmar couple froze.

"If I'm right, your child has a severe fever and flu, right?"

The female Magmar glanced at her mate. "Mag. (He seems to know what he's doing…)"

"Mag! (I'd rather trust Chansey!)"

"Mag! (But Chansey left months ago! The forest Pokémon won't even let us in!)"

The male Magmar's shoulders slumped. She was right. Venturing into the forest would be disastrous—their heat would ignite the trees.

Finally, he bowed his head. "Mag! (Human… name your price. Just save our child!)"

"Price later. First, let me see Magby."

Su Feng's heatproof suit—rated for 1500°C—allowed him to approach safely. The Magmar recoiled in shock.

"Mag! (Stay back! You'll burn!)"

"Relax. I'm fine."

After a tense moment, the female Magmar gingerly passed Magby to Su Feng.

A specialized thermometer revealed Magby's temperature: 800°C—200°C above normal. The little one shivered violently.

"Hold it close. Keep it as warm as possible," Su Feng instructed.

"But… shouldn't we cool it down for a fever?" the mother asked.

"?"

Su Feng stared. "Who told you that?"

She looked at her husband.

The male Magmar: "…"
