{Music Recommendation: On his Knees ~ Danny Elfman}
"Look at Jenna, embarrassing herself. Tch," a young man spat and walked away.
Rhane watched the man walk away, his two hands behind him. He had wanted to follow the man, but Jenna fell from her chair with a loud crash.
"Mistress," Mabel held Jenna up, "Are you okay?" she asked worriedly, her eyes moving towards the gathering of Maidens at intervals.
The event had begun, but Mabel had been quick to see Jenna struggling with a wine jar. She couldn't ignore it, but also she didn't want to miss her only chance of getting married either.
"Let me," Rhane intervened, holding Jenna's waist steady.
Mabel didn't let go immediately, "I need to take her home...she's drunk." The girl chewed her nails.
"The first young man is about to hand over his hairpin," the young woman hosting the event announced.
Mabel tapped her feet nervously on the ground, her eyes darting from Jenna to the gathering.
"My lady, why did you have to drink today? Can I go home and return before all good men pick their wives?" she contemplated, a line of worry forming on her face.
Rhane smiled, a quick curl that disappeared almost immediately. "I will take Master home," he suggested.
"She's drunk and you're a man," Mabel groaned, then her eyes lit up.
"Anne!" she snapped her fingers, "I'd almost forgotten you're not a man- I mean you're a man but don't remember how to be a man."
Mabel rubbed her palms together as if thanking her stars.
"If anyone can take Master home without a worry, then it's you Anne." Mabel finally let go of her mistress.
"I trust you and I'm so glad you're not a man!" Mabel slapped her mouth, "Not that I'm glad you're not a- like you don't remember you're a man...if that makes sense." Her voice became low.
Rhane picked up Jenna effortlessly, "I'll be going now."
"Thank you Anne, I'm so happy you're on our Lady's side." The girl didn't waste any more time; she ran into the crowd to join others.
Rhane looked around, everyone was busy with cheering and booing the men who were working so hard to look attractive to the women. He quietly left with his master who was mumbling something in her half sleep.
It didn't take long before they arrived at Jenna's house. Rhane entered her room and placed her on the bed, using the blanket to cover her body, but Jenna stood up abruptly.
Rhane raised his brows, shocked by the sudden movement. "Master?"
Jenna looked around her, she rubbed her forehead where a headache was now rising.
"Ow....I'm back home." she muttered, stretching her back. "I thought I wouldn't leave that place anytime soon."
Rhane chuckled, he got down on his knees and took Jenna's leg, removing her shoes. His movement gentle and his fingers grazing Jenna's ankle softly.
"Why do you do things you don't like, Master?" Rhane asked. He dropped the first shoe on the ground and massaged Jenna's leg.
"Anne...." Jenna uttered the name so softly like she didn't even open her lips. "Why are you so good to me?"
Rhane hummed, he pushed his fingers into Jenna's toes and rubbed. "Because it's you..."
Jenna sighed, her cheeks still flushed red. "I already guessed you'd say that." She moved back, adjusting her body on the bed to rest on the pillow.
"Don't you have other things that interest you...you only talk about Master this..." Jenna slurred, still feeling the strong liquor kicking in. Even when she opened her lips, words felt heavy.
Rhane stopped massaging her toes, and he smiled. His eyes on Jenna's leg, "I love hunting..."
"Ow....," Jenna nodded, she rubbed the back of her head, her eyes slowly closing.
Rhane placed the leg he had massaged on the bed and began working on the other one.
"Master...do you pray?"
Jenna scoffed, opening her eyes only to close them again. "Once...and it was never answered." She looked up to the ceiling and smiled.
When she looked down, Jenna saw how careful this man was with massaging her leg. He wasn't rough despite his palms being large enough to twist her leg. He paid attention to details and he knelt before her like she was some kind of goddess.
Jenna found herself melting. She wasn't scared of the man in front of her. Even though he was bigger in size than her husband, she wasn't terrified.
In the past, she would be hiding from men like these. The scars on her body enough to tell of what she had experienced, but right now...it felt different. Jenna moved forward and touched his hair, pushing them back so she could see his face clearly.
"I don't know..." she slurred, placing her hands on the sides of his face.
Rhane let go of her leg, his eyes on Jenna's face, then he trailed down to her lips then back up.
"If it's because I'm drunk or the night is too airy, but you look very dashing tonight... my handsome fool."
Jenna pressed her lips, shaking her head slightly. "I shouldn't be doing this...I can't use a man without his memory," she muttered, taking away her hand, but Rhane held her hand to his face.
"Master's hands feel warm," he confessed.
Jenna swallowed hard, the feeling came rushing back. The one where she had seen his body and felt the urge to chase a release. She moved her face back, then leaned closer, staring at his lips.
"C-can I kiss you?" she asked, her anxious eyes darting from Rhane's eyes down to his lips. She didn't wait for his response, and she captured his lips.
Jenna's small hand cupped the big face of Rhane, and she licked his lower lip then sucked with her eyes closed. Jenna snaked her tongue into his own, controlling the kiss that started from something slow then passionate. Wrapping her arm around his shoulder, Jenna grazed her tongue against his own and sighed.
Realizing herself, Jenna gasped and moved back. Her face had turned white with fear.
"I- what did I...have I done?" Jenna stammered, her eyes moving from Rhane's lips to his eyes. The hazel eyes that made her feel lost yet safe. She forgot even her own name when she looks at him for long.
"I- I'm so sorry...I shouldn't have."
Rhane shook his head, his lips and the corner of his mouth already painted with Jenna's mussed lipstick.
"I already told you...my body belongs to Master."
Jenna's breath hitched, and her stomach turned like it did a flip or something. She grabbed his face closer, making him stand and she kissed him hungrily.
Just for tonight...Jenna thought to herself as the young man climbed the bed, his knee making a dent on the bed. Jenna wanted to cherish this feeling she hadn't felt in a long time. Just for tonight. Even if it came at a cost, a cost of being selfish. And a cost of being embarrassed the next day.
Jenna wanted to have it all.
