Wei Chen arrived at Feng Zhi's office with a stack of freshly printed papers. "President Feng, the background check is ready," Wei Chen reported cautiously.
Feng Zhi browsed through the papers, his eyebrows lifting in amazement. "A model?" he muttered under his breath.
Wei Chen continued, "She resides in Green Vine Estate and doesn't live with her parents."
Feng Zhi's eyes glinted with amusement. "Interesting," he said lowly. "Her private number and other important information are contained in the documents."
Feng Zhi suddenly ordered, "Prepare the car; we leave for the ancestral mansion at once." Wei Chen quickly exited the office to prepare the car.
Feng Zhi sat, staring at the beautiful picture of the lady. She looked like a flower, shining brightly without blemish.
The car stopped in front of the ancestral mansion. Feng Zhi stepped out, his hands tucked in his pockets. The butler, Wang She, greeted him.
Feng Xiang sat in the living room, reading the daily newspaper. He wasn't surprised to see Feng Zhi.
"Grandfather," Feng Zhi called smugly.
Feng Xiang dropped the paper and settled his eyes on Feng Zhi. "Why have you come here?" he asked, feigning surprise.
Feng Zhi scoffed at the question. "I suppose Wei Chen delivered my message yesterday."
Feng Xiang's temper flared, and he threw the paper to the floor. "How audacious! Sending your secretary to me, Feng Zhi, you lack respect!"
Feng Zhi ignored the outburst. "I've finally found a match. It's what you've always wanted."
Feng Xiang stared, surprised, and asked, "Feng Zhi, are you serious?"
Feng Zhi continued, "You should send a proposal to Old Master Ling this evening."
Feng Xiang sat numb, surprised by Feng Zhi's sudden interest in Ling Bao's granddaughter.
Meanwhile, Ling Mei received a call from Ling Bao. "Grandfather, good morning," she greeted.
Ling Bao invited her to breakfast, which she accepted. She arrived at the ancestral mansion and was greeted by the butler.
Ling Bao smiled warmly. "Mei Mei, you should spend more time with Grandpa. You know I'm getting old."
Ling Mei knew where the conversation was heading. Soon, Ling Bao would complain about her being single and refusing to give him grandchildren.
Ling Bao asked, "Mei Mei, how do you feel about going on a date?" Ling Mei knew her grandfather's tricks and wasn't planning to fall for them.
Just then, Ling Bao announced, "You have a date with Young Master Feng this evening."
Ling Mei stared, dumbfounded. "Date...with...Young Master Feng?" she stuttered.
Ling Bao smiled widely. "Exactly, Mei Mei. You hit a big shot."
Ling Mei felt her heart contort with anger. Her grandfather had set her up on a blind date with Young Master Feng.
"Grandpa, don't you love me anymore? I can't go on a date with Young Master Feng," she wailed.
Ling Bao stared, surprised. "Mei Mei, you have to go. Do you want Grandpa to lose face?"
Ling Mei knew she had no choice. She had to attend the date and not doing so would make her grandfather lose face.
Ling Bao made her stay in the mansion all day, canceling her appointments. He was determined to make sure she attended the date.
