Everyone was still gathering themselves from the shock when Blair walked down to her secretary. She had not joined them for long, but now she could see the motive behind her actions.
"You covered up so well, we could barely tell," her voice rang. The eyes that had earlier been on Jason now shifted to Emilia Tarrant. Making Jason the primary suspect was only a ploy to get the real culprit, and Emilia showed herself without holding back. At the sight of the bullet, others were scared and moved backward, but she stood with a wide grin, her eyes beaming with pride.
"Did you think we would be stupid and not tell you the key used that night was yours?" Emilia took a step back, but Blair doubled it, creating an even tinier breathing environment for her.
"I treated you well. You were hired to do a job and not try to ruin my company," she hissed. Emilia chuckled. Her hands let go of the files and the keys. She didn't need any of it.
