Claude could not keep track of time; he did not know if it was day or night, for everything felt different. His body was weak, and his mind was in chaos. But like the obedient and dutiful person she was, she sat patiently and watched. Her puppy eyes stared, but rather than their once-cute appearance, they brought fear.
"Don't… kill me," Claude murmured in his dazed state. He feared death, but the figure before him did not seem willing to grant that wish.
"Come now, darling. You're not ready to join us… yet." Alice's voice dripped alongside the water droplets. The air was tense, and so was his body. Claude tried backing away from her touch, but his body was caught between the wall and her.
"No… please." His voice cracked, his hair stood on end, and his skin paled.
