"Oh my god...." Azra whispered, his hand resting on Quinn's shoulder. "I can't believe this is happening.... I've been recruited!"
Quinn rolled his eyes, clearly not so interested in being given an offer to join a guild. This was his second offer after all, and he had to reject the first one. But now, he was wondering what Emilia would say, now that he agreed. Shit.
Ares pushed the doors wide open, carrying them into a large hall that had benches on its sides. There was a clipboard that was mounted on the wall, written in bold letters: Missions.
This all felt like a game.
Lilith, being the third person to be selected, was oblivious to the fact that she was the only girl at the moment. Her curling brown hair was brushed backwards, falling down her shoulders in time to reveal a blemish on her neck — a deep purple shade, it looked like it had was born out of split paint.
But her only interest at the moment, was Quinn.
She had seen many people, people who had power but this guy....he was fascinating in a rather silent way. And she wanted to understand the nature of his magic. To learn his secrets. Get as close as she could to him, if she was going to bring him down.
"Are we the only ones?" Lilith broke the silence as they walked to the front. Ares, feeling irritated already by the mere presence of these teens, just gritted his teeth and ignored them. Of course they weren't the only ones.
There's no way he was ever going to do anything with a bunch of teenagers, especially those that weren't as strong as he wanted.
Quinn finally spotted movement with the corner of an eye, and that made him freeze for a moment, quickly turning his head in time to stare at Emilia. Her pink hair fell smoothly along her neck, brushing against her shoulders whilst her hands were clutched at her back, outlining her physique. A silver earring glinted from her ear, reflecting the light that tore through the windows. The sun did a good thing of highlighting her golden features, and expressive blue eyes.
Quinn cleared his throat, brushing a hand on his hair to put it in place, before he fixed his collar. He looked Azra, quickly asking, "How do I look?"
Azra, clearly a bit lost, widened his eyes. "What do you mean, how do you look? You look like the same guy I just walked in with."
"No..." Quinn said, holding a smile that left his set of white teeth exposed. "...how do I look?"
"Pretty good, I guess?" Azra said.
"Good." Quinn took a deep breath, turning around and facing the girl at the corner. Without hesitation, he walked towards her, his chest raised, his chin held high. Azra, who never took his eyes from Quinn, shifted his eye to where he was heading...and a grin spread across his face the moment he noticed who it was. Emilia. A noble. He whispered, "Now what do you think you're doing?"
Quinn stopped just behind her, clearing his throat intentionally to attract her attention. She quickly turned around, her eyes wide for a second before she placed a hand on her chest in a gesture. "You creep." She said, pouting her lips. "You almost gave me a heart attack."
"S-sorry." Quinn said. "Wanted to actually surprise you, not give you a bloody heart attack."
Emilia kept staring at him for what felt like a minute. Quinn gulped, his Adam's apple gliding along his neck. Heat slowly warmed up his cheeks, forcing him to take a step back. "Uhm. E-Emilia? W-What are you doing?"
"I'm trying to see through you, dummy." She said, narrowing her eyes more. She took a step closer, grabbing his hands in a firm grip. "I read that if most men who can't handle a simple eye contact, are sly. Mischievous. Something that needs to be disposed of. And I'm having a feeling you might be fitting into this categories."
"I'm not mischievous!" Quinn said. "And would you please let me go."
"Why? Can't handle a little contact?" Emilia's lips stretched into a smirk. "Wait a minute. You're a virgin, aren't you?"
Quinn felt like cold water had been spilt on his face. His eyebrows lowered, clearly not interested in what she was saying. "And I wonder why you care about such things."
"No reason really," Emilia lowered her voice, letting go of his hands before she clutched her hands down at her waist. Her arms squeezed her boobs enough, they jiggled for a moment, forcing Quinn to stare at them. "I was just thinking that since I like you..." She melted into a smile, her eyes staring into his. "...you might want help with that."
Quinn gasped, cutting the distance between them, his hands gripping her shoulders and gluing her in place. Heat burned through his cheeks, his eyes sparkling with interest. "Y-YOU WOULD DO THAT!!!!!?"
Just then, a third voice interrupted them. It was Lilith, her footsteps as gentle as they could as she approached them with a smirk on her face. "If it isn't the new uprising couple."
Quinn removed his hands from Emilia, turning around in time to stare at Lilith, who stood behind them, a hand on her hip. He said, "We are not a thing."
"Doesn't look like it." Lilith said. "Other wise your face wouldn't be so red!"
Emilia, who had been silent for quite a while now, finally broke into a terrible grin. Her hand met Quinn's, her fingers wrapping around his as she held him firmly. Quinn felt heat washing all over him, forcing him to quickly look at her, asking, "W-what the—"
"What do you care, Lilith?" But Emilia cut him before he could say anything stupid. She raised his hand to her chest, pressing it against her boobs. They were fluffy alright. He felt it. "Might you by any chances be aiming to hook-up with him?"
Lilith chuckled, rolling her eyes in mockery. "Me? Hooking up with him? I have better standards, Stark."
"So please tell me, what has forced you to come from the other side of the Hall, just so you could join us....." Emilia said. "Don't think I don't see through you. I do. And I always will. If I were you, I'd stay away."
Lilith flinched. "Is that a threat, over a boy?"
"I guess, you can call it that." Emilia said. "Now, I suggest you get out of my sight before I do something that'll make you jealous."
"Something like what?" Lilith held a grin.
"Something like throwing both of you in detention." Ares snapped their attention in the blink of an eye. They all turned, facing him. He was standing a few feet from them, his eyes stern, teeth gritted in utter disappointment. "I brought you here so that we could work together, not fight or argue under my watch." His eyes went on Quinn. "Winter!"
Quinn felt a shiver race down his spine, but he quickly slid his hand off Emilia's clutch. "Sir, Yessir!?"
"Get away from these vipers..." Ares said.
"Vipers!?" Emilia flushed. "I'm not a viper!"
Lilith giggled. "Oh c'mon Emma.... We both know it's in our nature, so there's no need trying to hide it. No one cares."
