When Mia returned, she saw Lucas still sitting in the ward. She couldn't understand what the man was trying to show by his insistence on staying with her. She frowned the moment she saw him waiting. "Really, I will be fine on my own."
"I didn't say that you wouldn't be fine."
She stared at him, drumming her nails on her thighs as the nurse pushed her back inside. Once she was settled on the bed, Mia turned to look at the man who was still sitting on the chair and shrugged. "Fine if you want to waste your time by staying here; I have nothing to say, Mister Lucas."
When the man didn't say anything. Mia sighed as she took the pain relievers from the nurse and popped them in her mouth. She swallowed them in a gulp and made a face, only to smell something that smelled really awful. She sniffed the air and turned to look at Lucas before asking, "Is it just me, or does the room smell like it has been raided by a dump truck?"
