How delusional are you?
That was a question many would answer differently from not at all, to completely, but Nitrian had a different perspective.
Sitting on his couch in the living room, he laid back with his head on the armrest as a smile consumed his face.
Surrounding him was a neatly clean room, as he let out his laughter.
"Hahaha, Sister Leveling is peak, fr. Bringing me back to when abridged was just it. The things I would do if I had a system or some other way to become powerful and reach the top, that would be the best!" His chuckle ended as he sighed in reprieve.
Before he continued scrolling and found another post.
[You will die in 5 minutes if you don't share with all your friends and family.
Also, answer the question, how delusional are you?] The odd post caused him to stop to get a good look, narrowing his eyes before rolling them.
"Me? I guess it depends, though I think I'm extremely delusional sometimes, most of the time I'm not at all…. Hmmm, yeah, when it comes to different topics the answer is different. Anyway…" Nitrian said to himself upon thinking about the question.
Even then, it was a post even millions upon millions of likes, and hundreds of thousands of comments.
"Urgh… Shouldn't creepy nonsense posts like this get taken down? What's the app's content safety team even doing? This has millions of…" Just as he was speaking something odd happened.
Right before his eyes, the likes, comments, repost numbers, and so on, all started going down at a fast pace like a count down.
"Hmmm… What is this?… Is this what it looks like when it's getting taken down?… No, if that was the case it would just freeze the like number and be impossible to save…" To test this he presses the save button and it doesn't work, so a sigh escapes his mouth.
Paying this oddity no further mind, scrolled past it, but no matter how many times he slid his finger across the screen, nothing happened.
"Did my phone freeze? It just keeps crashing more as the years go by, if I wasn't so broke I would just buy a new one…" He then tries to close the app, and it doesn't respond, then he attempts to turn it off by pressing the on/off button and waiting.
However nothing happened, his phone was not responding at all even though the vision was just playing.
Then he saw something odd, the weird message on the screen was gone, and it was all pitch black now, and he then looked at his hand with a frown as he felt something.
Sticky
Looking at his hand holding the phone, there was a sticky black substance slowly but surely covering his fingers…
"What?!… This has to be a weird dream… Right?!" He jumped off the couch so fast he slipped and fell ass-first onto the ground, his hand still glued to his phone, but worse much worse, it was growing.
By now his hand had been fully covered in some form of black sludge, some slime that was grimy, almost tar-like.
"Let go of me!" He scrabbled himself up, and dashed to the kitchen, as he tried his best to pull it off, but it wasn't coming off.
Every pull, made it grow!
Quick in his swift movement, Nitrian put his hand on the sink and turned on water in the maximum heat, pouring it on his hand and phone not even trying to save his precious pocket companion at all.
The water was quickly absorbed, and he jumped off back pull his arm off the sink just as it reached the end of his forearm.
What? Now? Call the police? An ambulance? There was no house phone, and he was alone at home.
"The neighbors! Someone's gonna call them for me!" Not wasting any time, he immediately got up and ran to the front door but things only got worse from there.
Instead of showing down, or going at the same pace, it got faster, much faster.
The moment he stepped foot in front of the door, he already had the black sludge covering him up to the neck and right leg, half of him was gone to it at that point, it was already cutting him down the middle.
"Damn it! I should have called for help Immediately!! HEL-…" His mouth was also lost, and at that time weakness consumed him, and he fell to the ground as the advance further quickened and his face was soon all that was left.
Finally freed from his hand, the phone fell in front of him, and he could see it, still playing the same pitch-black video from the post just as his last piece, one remaining eye was about to be consumed, and he could see a singular hand make way out of his phone before it shot up, and took his form.
"I have found a great vessel, worry not. I will take care of things while you fulfill your new duties. Child Of All And None." Those were the last words he heard before it all went dark.
