Chapter 6 - the fascinating history and methods of goblin hunting

There was a time when normal goblins existed, but after the merging of two worlds, one goblin mistakenly drank the blood of a high-ranking monster(the Devsuna)which caused a strange reaction.

The goblin developed red ears and surprisingly began to think and make decisions (that was the time when the goblins became intelligent). Soon enough, other goblins also started to drink the blood of different monsters, and they too experienced mutations.

However, some goblins' mutations were so cruel that they began to eat their own kind without any concern, as if their brains were completely rotten. Due to their mutations, the goblins started producing many different kinds of power stones, leading other races to hunt them nonstop; masses to collect more stones than others. This almost led to the extinction of intelligent goblins, although some survived.

Now, there are only 100 intelligent goblin out of 10,000 normal goblins. Most of the intelligent goblins began to live in isolation from other species, retreating to the depths of the forest.

The Night Shade Tribe is one of these isolated groups.

In the beginning, the Night Shade Tribe had good relations with many tribes , exchanging valuable poisonous herbs for goods.

But in the end, they were caught up in their fate when rumors started circulating about the 'Old Soul Ghost Forest.'

As of now, they only maintain good relations with three races.

**Returning to the present moment…**

Fig was in the crib to prevent any future incidents.

Note: Rakan is 23 years old, the chief is 136 years old, and Rakan's father is 125 years old.

Fig: 'aba Ababa ba baabba' (Fig was enjoying the company of many goblins who came to see him).

The chief: 'Brother, have you seen any human baby excited after seeing us?' He was confused; he thought calming Fig would take a few days, but Fig was surprisingly calm and was enjoying their company (´⊙ω⊙`)!

Rakan's father: 'Ha hahah, brother, just stop being worried and see how he is playing with us. Have you seen his sparkling eyes? I am now thinking, was Rakan also this cute when he was a baby?' His face was continuously smiling, even if he wanted to stop.

Fig's cuteness had already worked like magic and captured the hearts of Rakan's father and many others in the tribe. It was to the extent that they were not going outside to hunt; they just wanted to see him all day.

The sunset had already passed.

The chief: 'Now, now, everyone go back to your houses; it's already bedtime for the baby.' He had enough of people coming to his house; while leaving, everyone was cursing the chief.

Though everyone was happy seeing Fig, there was one person who was not happy, and that was Rakan.

All the people were so busy seeing Fig that they ignored Rakan's presence.

In Rakan's house:

Rakan: 'Come on, father, please don't let the people come near Fig! If they keep coming, how will I ever make Fig my right-hand man? Please do something.' He was on the verge of crying because his subordinate was slowly being taken away from him.

Note: Even though Rakan was rough and tough in front of everyone, his heart was like that of a 12-year-old child.

The Night Shade Tribe was always good at hunting; they had many techniques and traps.

One of them involved goblins using their colors to hide in bushes, waiting for their prey (horn rabbits) to come.

Mostly, goblins waiting in bushes use Night Shade Spear Art as their main technique. When the horn rabbits come, the goblins would rustle the bushes; most rabbits will run toward the plain area to escape.

Before they enter the plain field, they must encounter the last hurdles. The goblins (who have mastered the assassin style with their main art being Night Shade Dagger Art) lay in wait on top the tree branches, ready to strike.

Note: Horn rabbits are their only source of food.

Fun fact: everyone in the tribe had known that the baby was called "Fig" because when Fig teleported to the forest he had a handkerchief with his name on it.
