All the wizards from Gryffindor fell silent at that moment, as if they had heard something unbelievable.
In this eerie silence, someone started to shout, and then a thunderous cheer erupted, resounding throughout the auditorium.
The wizards from Gryffindor had calculated that their house now had the highest points among the four houses, and their cheers grew louder and louder.
Light, Ron, and Hermione lifted Harry Potter up, who was looking at Light with a conflicted look, and cheered together.
Neville was so flustered that his face turned red, struggling to deal with the crowd that rushed over to hug him.
In contrast, Slytherin was eerily quiet. They all watched silently as the students from Gryffindor kept making a ruckus, as if the noise in the world had nothing to do with them.
Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff both clapped with smiles on their faces to express their congratulations, but without too much excitement.
When the noise in the auditorium subsided a little, Dumbledore continued.
"This means we need some changes!"
Headmaster Dumbledore waved his hand, and the green - and - silver decorations in the auditorium instantly changed to red and gold!
The green and silver banners symbolizing the Slytherin serpent disappeared, replaced by the red and gold Gryffindor lions.
Meanwhile, on the professors' platform, Professor McGonagall, who usually had a serious face, was now beaming with smiles and kept shaking hands with the surrounding professors.
Professor Snape forced a smile to deal with Professor McGonagall.
After the cheers faded away, Headmaster Dumbledore raised his hands and shouted, "Now, let the dinner begin! Enjoy this magnificent dinner to your heart's content!"
Countless delicious dishes appeared out of thin air on the four long tables! Light, who had been starving for a long time, started to gobble up the food.
After the main course, he had desserts. Light ate the little cakes with satisfaction and began to think about where he should go during this summer vacation.
After the banquet ended, Light and the other three went back to the Gryffindor common room together.
On the way, Hermione started chatting about her summer vacation plans and told Light and the other two to write to her during the holidays.
After the three of them said goodbye to Hermione and returned to the dormitory, Ron and Harry Potter both felt a little melancholy.
Ron thought that he would have to face the dominance of his three older brothers when he got home, and he felt unaccountably unhappy.
Harry Potter was conflicted because he felt he had stolen Light's glory and annoyed because he had to return to that cramped stair - closet and that hopeless home.
Light comforted Harry Potter, who didn't want to go back, and suddenly felt that Old Dumbledore's scheming was really terrifying.
Bringing a love - starved child into a world full of blessings and honors to teach him the meaning of protecting friends and the school was cruel yet effective.
Not long after the dinner, the notice to leave school was delivered to every wizard's hand as the owls flew around!
It stated when they should set off to return to the Muggle world and warned that young wizards were not permitted to use Spells during the holidays, or the Aurors from the Ministry of Magic would arrest them.
After reading the notice, Light didn't care about the latter part at all. The Aurors from the Ministry of Magic were just a joke.
Basically, they're just like the policemen in mystery movies, just showing up at the scene to make a token appearance.
As for the tracking strings, that's even more of a laughingstock! They're easily interfered with. Unless there are no Magic Power reactions around, the tracking strings won't send out any signals.
They're only good for restricting Muggle wizards.
In the dead of night, lying in bed, Light finally made up his mind. He wouldn't go back to the orphanage. Instead, he'd head straight for the black market in the wizarding world and pull off a big heist.
After dawn, after breakfast, the young wizards, just as they had on the way here, boarded the small boats on the Black Lake under Hagrid's lead.
While queuing to board the boat, Light specifically asked Hagrid how to get to Knockturn Alley. Hagrid hesitated slightly but still told him the way.
Light, happy to get the information, boarded the boat with a smile on his face. At the same time, as if remembering something, he slowly dipped his hand into the lake water! But this time, there was no reaction or strange feeling.
In the sunlight, without the stumbles and fears they had on the way here, the young wizards quickly boarded the Hogwarts Express.
Light, Harry Potter, Hermione, and Ron happened to occupy a carriage. The four of them chatted and laughed all the way.
The scenery outside the train window kept shifting. The wilderness gave way to the countryside, and high - rise buildings loomed closer.
With the whistle of the train going "woo - woo", the train pulled into King's Cross Station and stopped at Platform Nine and Three - Quarters.
Most of the young wizards took off their wizard robes and changed into their own clothes.
After the four of them got off the train with their luggage, Light walked up to the wall and experienced the feeling of passing through it again.
In the crowded station, a large number of the young wizards' parents were waiting. A few of them were wearing black robes, but no Muggles cared.
"Ron, over here!"
A slightly portly, red - haired middle - aged man seemed very experienced. He quickly found Ron among the young wizards and waved and shouted.
"My family is over there. I'm going first! Come to my place when you're free." After saying that, Ron pushed his luggage and squeezed into the crowd.
Harry Potter was soon picked up by the unhappy Dursley couple. After saying goodbye to Light, Hermione was also picked up by the Granger couple.
After most of the young wizards were picked up, the crowd thinned out a lot.
Seeing this, Light picked up the suitcase that only held a few clothes and followed the crowd out of the station.
After leaving the station, Light walked along the crowded commercial street and finally stopped in front of a shabby and small bar.
The Leaky Cauldron is one of the intersections between the wizarding world and the Muggle world. Even during the day, there were quite a few people drinking and chatting.
Light walked straight up to the bar owner, took out a Galleons and tossed it to him, saying, "Hagrid recommended me. I want to go to Knockturn Alley!"
The middle - aged man who was wiping the glasses stopped what he was doing, took the Galleons, looked at Light and smiled, "I remember you. You came here with Hagrid and Mr. Potter before."
"Yes, I need to go to Knockturn Alley to take care of something!" Light replied according to the information Hagrid had provided.
"Follow me!" The owner put down the glass and led Light to the fireplace. He took out a handful of Floo Powder from the box above the fireplace.
The bar owner scattered Floo Powder into the fireplace. The powder was ignited by Magic Power and turned into little glimmers of azure light! The bar owner turned around and nodded to Light.
"Knockturn Alley!" Light went up to the fireplace and said upon seeing this.
The azure light in the fireplace turned into blue flames, which swept towards Light.
Light didn't make any move and let the flames envelop him. Then he felt a violent shake. His whole body felt as if it had been stuffed into a washing machine and was rolling constantly.
After a dizzying series of rolls and transformations, when Light finally felt steady again, the scene before his eyes was completely different.
"Looks like I'm here!"
