Chapter 95 - Chapter 95: Exclusive Potion

Dusk had fallen. Outside a big cottage on the periphery of the Forbidden Forest, ten Thestrals invisible to ordinary people were standing on the open ground in front of the house.

Standing in front of ten large boxes, Light looked at the six unsuccessful Boggarts. Then, he turned to Hagrid and asked, "What should we do with them?"

Hearing Light's question, Hagrid grinned and said, "They'll stay with the Thestrals and spend their entire lives together!"

Hagrid said this simply and honestly, with the light of expectation and blessing shining in his small eyes.

Seeing Hagrid's expression, Light knew that these Boggarts were going to settle in the Forbidden Forest.

"The Forbidden Forest will be even more dangerous now! This should be my fault, shouldn't it?" Light couldn't help but shake his head silently.

Shaking off his chaotic thoughts, Light looked at the four successful boxes and murmured to himself:

"Next, we just need to wait for them to successfully give birth to their young!"

Hearing Light's murmur, Hagrid also nodded in agreement. Then, he changed the topic:

"Don't get too excited just yet. This is the birth of a new species, and there are still many things to keep an eye on."

Looking at the Thestrals leaning against each other, a question popped up in Light's mind, and he asked Hagrid:

"Does it have to be done like this? Can't it be simplified?"

Hagrid, who was about to lead the Thestrals back, heard Light's question and replied in a low voice:

"No, it can't. Regarding magical creatures, the combination of the two is more of a special ceremony. This can endow the newborns with more life force!"

Hagrid said in a low voice, but there was still a glint of wisdom in his eyes.

After Hagrid arranged the Thestrals and Boggarts, Light said goodbye to him and rushed back to the castle just in time before dinner.

This wonderful experience of the day made Light, who hadn't gone wandering at night for a long time, have a good night's rest instead.

The next day, in the Potions classroom, which was extremely dim as the sunlight was blocked by the curtains.

Professor Snape had returned to his usual self. He no longer paid attention to Light but stared at Harry Potter constantly, waiting for him to make a mistake so that he could unleash his venom.

This also made Harry Potter suffer a great deal. He felt so awful that he barely managed to get through the Potions class, and twenty points were deducted from his house.

After the class, Professor Snape flew silently past Light like a bat, left a note on his desk, and then disappeared from Light's sight.

Light picked up the note and saw that there was only one sentence on it!

"Come to my office at six o'clock tonight!"

After reading the message, Light couldn't help but raise his eyebrows. 'Here it comes, my experimental data.'

Spending the whole day nervously, Light arrived at Professor Snape's office on time.

Taking a few deep breaths, Light calmed his excited nerves before knocking on the office door.

Knowing that Professor Snape didn't have the custom of inviting people in, Light pushed the door open and entered the office right after knocking.

There were no lights on in the office. It was as dim as ever, but somehow one could still see everything around clearly.

"Good evening, Professor!" Light greeted Professor Snape with a big smile on his face.

Professor Snape didn't respond. He just coldly demanded, "Now, cast the Expecto Patronum spell!"

Hearing this, Light didn't hesitate at all. He took out his wand and began to cast a spell.

Countless silver light spots spurted out from the tip of the wand and finally transformed into a bird-shaped virtual image, constantly flying around Light.

"Have you never practiced? Why are you still like this after so long?"

Although Professor Snape showed no expression on his face, his tone was clearly full of dissatisfaction.

"Hahaha! I've been busy preparing for the Magical Creature Transfiguration these days. I don't have that much time, you know!"

After withdrawing the Expecto Patronum, Light scratched his head and explained with an apologetic smile.

Professor Snape didn't say a word. He turned around in a cute and proud manner and walked to the corner of the office. Then he took out his wand and gently tapped the wall.

Where the wand had tapped, the wall disappeared and turned into a storage box.

Under Light's eager gaze, Professor Snape took out a thick file from the storage box.

Looking at the file in his hand, Professor Snape pondered for a moment and then handed it to Light, who was longing for it.

Before Light could open the file, Professor Snape spoke first, "Your direction is correct! It's just a bit difficult."

Hearing what Professor Snape said, Light stopped trying to open the file and directly asked, "What difficulties are there?"

Professor Snape seemed to be organizing his words. After pondering for a moment, he expressed his opinion.

"The potion itself is fine, but the ritual to be used in conjunction with it is a bit tricky!"

"What do you mean?"

Seeing that Light still looked confused, Professor Snape continued to explain.

"Fermenting the potion is not a problem. Just like you planned, bury it in a place isolated from the outside world and wait quietly!"

"The most crucial part is the ritual that goes with the potion. The difficulty lies in the fact that the ritual required for each potion is different."

Hearing this, Light understood what Professor Snape meant.

"That means each potion is customized, and the ritual varies from person to person."

Knowing that Light understood his meaning, Professor Snape went on.

"Right. During the ritual designed for the potion tester, their state is very unstable. They can only barely complete the original design, and things are likely to go haywire!"

"From this, we can infer that each potion has its own ritual. At least until there are enough cases to perfect it, that's the way it is!"

Light could tell what Professor Snape meant, which was to tell him to wait.

Even though Professor Snape showed no expression, Light could feel his concern from his words.

The problem was that he couldn't stop now. In the short term, [The Horcruxes, the diary] was hiding in the dark, ready to cause trouble at any time.

In the long run, the method to endow Muggles with [Magic Power] may cause a sudden problem at any moment. After all, death can only restrain those who fear it.

Neither Garcia nor John seemed like the kind of people who were afraid of death.

Although all those things were just rumors without actual cases, the [wizarding world] wasn't scientific and didn't follow common sense.

After thinking for a long time, Light took a deep breath and bowed deeply to Professor Snape, but he didn't say a word.

Seeing this, Professor Snape also understood what this boy was thinking.

"Do as you like. You've got what you want. Leave!"

Professor Snape didn't try to persuade him and just issued an order to leave!

After respectfully saying goodbye to Professor Snape, Light left the office.

"What do you think, Severus?"

In the dim office, an old man with a white beard suddenly appeared.

Professor Snape looked at Headmaster Dumbledore, who had suddenly appeared. Without showing any surprise, he said unhappily,

"Can't you say something different when you appear? Why do you always ask me what I think!"

"Well, I can't help it! I'm really curious about what you think," Headmaster Dumbledore replied, trying to smooth things over.

"I don't have any special thoughts. Isn't his decision also within your expectations?"

"Who did you arrange to test the potion? How did you calculate the design of the ritual?"

Professor Snape cut off Headmaster Dumbledore's further questioning and then asked him instead.

"Designing the ritual according to the requirements is difficult for me, but not impossible."

Headmaster Dumbledore didn't answer directly, and Professor Snape didn't continue to press for an answer.
