As the clerk rang up my purchases, I found myself wondering what Kyrie would think of this practical but underhanded side of me. Then immediately questioned why her opinion mattered at all.

Vrika's smug panting grin told me exactly what the wolf thought of that rationalization.
"The weather's supposed to turn late tonight. Hope you're not planning to head out right away."
This was news to me. Then again, my system map doesn't really have a weather forecasting ability - just an apocalypse prophecy. Maybe it would be a good idea to find an 'app' on my phone.
"I hadn't heard that. How bad?"
"Might be severe, local stations are split on how much - at least some rain moving in well after midnight. Supposed to last through early tomorrow morning."
