"Quite the spectacle!"
Standing atop the volcano at the center of the island, Yamanaka Shinno shielded his eyes with one hand as he observed the chaos engulfing the Summoning Island, clicking his tongue in amusement.
The ultimate summoning beast housed in the research facility must have triggered some kind of primal survival instinct in the island's wildlife on a genetic level.
The moment its first roar echoed, the entire island descended into madness.
The weaker creatures fled towards the coastline, driven by sheer terror. Even those that couldn't swim took their chances, leaping into the ocean in desperate attempts to survive.
Meanwhile, the more powerful and aggressive beasts gathered together, charging straight towards the ultimate summoning beast as if intent on mutual destruction.
Several birds of prey, varying in size, circled above the volcano's crater, screeching irritably as they glared at Shinno from above.
They sensed danger but were reluctant to leave.
"Screee!"
One particularly fierce-looking falcon, its crimson eyes gleaming, finally lost patience. Unlike its massive companions, this one was notably smaller, but its body was built for speed.
Tucking its wings in, it shot toward Shinno like an arrow.
Shinno smirked, immediately recognizing the falcon. During his reconnaissance mission using his crow summons, he'd encountered numerous predators, but this falcon had left the strongest impression.
Despite being only a fraction of the size of the larger birds, it possessed monstrous strength and speed that far surpassed its kin.
One talon could crush tree trunks as thick as a man's head, and its razor-sharp beak could pierce solid rock with ease.
Its speed was terrifying.
If not for his crows being small and nimble—and his own expert control over their movements through the dense forest—his cherished little birds would have long been reduced to fresh bird droppings.
Whoosh!
A sharp whistle cut through the air as the falcon dived at him.
Shinno locked eyes with the raptor, whose piercing gaze bore into him.
Ninjutsu: Mind Clone Switch Technique.
A choked squawk rang out as the falcon, caught mid-flight by the Yamanaka clan's secret technique, suddenly jerked sideways, veering off course.
Under Shinno's control, it flapped frantically, slowing itself before landing beside him.
Thankfully, the biological structure of creatures in the ninja world was far more resilient than that of his previous life's Earth. Otherwise, braking mid-dive like this would have snapped the falcon's wings instantly.
Sealing Technique: Four-Limb Weight Seal!
The moment he released his Mind Clone Switch Technique, Shinno seamlessly transitioned into a binding seal.
Before the dazed falcon could react, it was slammed to the ground, nearly coughing up its organs from the force.
"Screech!" "Caw!" "Chirp!"
The other birds of prey circling above erupted into a frenzy at the sight of their leader's defeat.
Wings flapped aggressively as they prepared to dive at Shinno in unison.
"Hmm... just about the right distance."
Glancing at the horde of beasts charging up the volcano's slopes and the airborne predators preparing their assault, Shinno decided it was time to act.
Forming a series of hand seals, he unleashed a large-scale A-rank genjutsu.
Nirvana Temple Technique!
Snow-white feathers, resembling soft flakes from a frozen wasteland, drifted down in waves.
The sheer scale of his spiritual energy made this technique—already classified as A-rank due to its massive range—even more terrifying in its reach.
The snowfall of illusionary feathers covered an area nearly a kilometer in radius, centered around Shinno.
The birds in the sky, their eyelids growing heavy, spiraled downward in sluggish descent.
The charging beasts stumbled, their movements turning sluggish before they collapsed into unconscious heaps.
Even those that arrived later succumbed in mere moments.
The once-vibrant sounds of the island faded into silence.
Within thirty seconds, the only thing left in the world was the sound of deep, rhythmic snoring.
"Phew."
Exhaling deeply, Shinno assessed his chakra reserves, noting that the technique had consumed nearly a fifth of his total.
He made a mental note—next chance he got, he needed to find a way to increase his chakra capacity.
A one-kilometer radius was his current limit for Nirvana Temple Technique.
It might seem small, but considering that during the Chunin Exams, the entire arena—including the spectator stands—was barely 300 meters across, his range was staggering.
In the original timeline, Kabuto and several Sunagakure and Otogakure shinobi had to work together just to put an audience to sleep.
On an actual battlefield, the ability to incapacitate enemies at this scale could easily determine the outcome of a major battle.
Boom!
A deafening explosion and tremor from within the volcano's crater snapped him out of his thoughts.
Narrowing his eyes, Shinno peered down into the depths of the crater.
The inner walls of the volcano cracked under repeated impacts.
Another explosion rocked the ground.
A monstrous figure—its form grotesquely mutated, sporting fleshy wings and twisted horns—was sent flying out of the crater, slamming into the opposite rock wall.
From the gaping hole in the volcano, Namikaze Minato shot out, one arm wrapped securely around Uzumaki Honoka's waist.
With a flick of his wrist, he hurled a Flying Thunder God kunai toward Shinno's position before leaping onto the stunned summoning beast's head.
Adamantine Sealing Chains!
Rasengan!
Honoka's long-prepared Adamantine Sealing Chains lashed out, wrapping tightly around the beast's wings.
Minato followed up instantly, slamming an oversized Rasengan directly onto its skull.
The beast, already battered and drained from its forced regeneration, let out a final, agonized wail before plummeting into the molten lava below.
Whoosh!
With a flash, Minato reappeared beside Shinno, holding Honoka in a princess carry.
The creature's dying screams echoed from the depths as the searing magma engulfed its flailing form.
Shinno narrowed his eyes at Minato's effortless shift from holding Honoka by the waist to cradling her in a full princess carry.
"Tch, don't tell me Gamabunta can't be bothered anymore, or is Gamaken and Gamahiro on maternity leave?"
He clicked his tongue in frustration.
He hadn't expected that a barely-matured 'baby monster' would be used to this extent by Minato.
Anyone who still thought Minato was an innocent little flower deserved a hearty spit in the face!
