Chapter 50 - CHAPTER 50

Uchiha Madara once said:

"Adults don't take children seriously."

However, in Bai Ye's view, this needed adjustment.

No adult takes a child's challenge seriously.

But that doesn't mean adults don't discipline children.

And once they do—

It's a lesson meant to be remembered for a lifetime.

Just like that so-called Village Management Brigade.

If Bai Ye were even slightly serious, it would collapse instantly.

Did the Third Hokage believe that law enforcement power came from mere regulations?

If so, he was mistaken.

Regulations only bound the weak.

The strong were the ones who dictated the rules.

Bai Ye wasn't concerned when the Third Hokage raged upon hearing that the entire Village Management Brigade had been arrested.

If he had the guts, he could come to the Uchiha Police Force Headquarters and have a real conversation.

If he didn't—then he could sit in his Hokage office, clinging to the title he refused to relinquish, and wait for his inevitable downfall.

---

Bai Ye's Manor

The wind howled as the First Captain of the Uchiha Police Force brought his ride to a sharp stop in front of the luxurious estate.

However, something unexpected greeted him.

Aside from the new maid, Samui, and his personal maid, Kushina, two others stood at the entrance.

Under Samui's persuasion, Yugito Nii had finally put on the exclusive cat-eared maid outfit.

Her face burned with embarrassment, unable to meet Bai Ye's gaze.

Yet Bai Ye's attention wasn't on her.

Instead, his gaze landed on the other woman.

"Sister-in-law? What brings you here?"

Dismounting his motorcycle, Bai Ye looked at Uchiha Mikoto with curiosity.

As the unofficial brother-in-law of the Uchiha clan's patriarch, calling her sister-in-law was technically correct.

But their relationship was far more complicated than just that.

It all stemmed from Kushina.

As one of the only two people in Konoha—aside from Bai Ye and Tsunade—who knew Kushina's true identity, Mikoto often visited Bai Ye's estate to chat with her friend.

Their bond ran deep.

According to Kushina, she and Mikoto had once made a pact—

If one had a son and the other a daughter, their children would be betrothed.

Unfortunately—

Both Naruto and Sasuke were boys.

But that hadn't stopped them from gravitating toward each other anyway.

After all—

MingZuo was inevitable!

"Well… Your elder brother asked if you could visit when you have time," Mikoto said softly, her face turning crimson.

It seemed she recalled a certain incident.

She wasn't one to stray, yet she couldn't forget that night.

The sky had been clear, perfect for an honest conversation.

As usual, she had visited Kushina's home to chat.

The two had indulged in Bai Ye's self-brewed liquor, drinking well into the night.

Drunk and exhausted, she had stayed over.

In Kushina's room.

So when Bai Ye returned late from duty that evening—he naturally ended up in that bed as well.

That night—

Things happened.

And once it had started—

It was impossible to stop.

---

"Sister-in-law, you must be tired. Stay for dinner."

Bai Ye smiled, his tone polite yet filled with intent.

Tch. Hypocrite.

Kushina shot him a glare.

She knew him too well.

Inviting Mikoto to dinner was just an excuse—his true goal was to rope her into another situation.

This man never refused an opportunity.

As he once shamelessly declared:

"Everyone curses Cao Cao, but everyone also admires him."

She wasn't sure what that meant, but it didn't sound like a compliment.

"I… I can't. Sasuke is at home."

Mikoto's face turned redder.

The first time had been an accident.

The second time—purely Bai Ye's doing.

Now, hearing his blatant invitation, even as a wife, she found herself hesitating.

"Sister-in-law, don't be like this."

Without shame, Bai Ye gently took Mikoto's hand.

A brazen move—

But that was who he was.

Samui sighed from the side, lamenting the decline of morals, while Yugito blinked in confusion.

Was it just her, or were the relationships here a little… complicated?

Meanwhile, Tsunade had conveniently detoured to a gambling house on the way back.

A survival instinct.

She knew if she returned now, Bai Ye would definitely target her next.

"Let's go, sister-in-law. You should bathe with Kushina."

Bai Ye extended another invitation.

Mikoto's knees nearly buckled.

She was too flustered to resist as Bai Ye casually pulled her inside.

Kushina, already used to this, simply followed.

Only Samui and Yugito remained behind, exchanging uncertain glances.

Tonight was bound to be eventful.

---

Konoha—Hokage's Office

The atmosphere was heavy.

Sarutobi Hiruzen sat in his chair, frowning as he puffed on his pipe.

Miscalculation.

His attempt to counterbalance the Uchiha Police Force by forming the Village Management Brigade had completely backfired.

Within just three days, it had collapsed.

Uchiha Bai Ye hadn't even acknowledged its authority.

Worse—

He had openly dismantled it before the entire village.

Now, both his sons—Sarutobi Shinnosuke and Sarutobi Asuma—were imprisoned.

How could he not be anxious?

He knew one thing for certain—

Once inside the Uchiha Police Interrogation Room, no one left unscathed.

The reports from his spy inside the Uchiha had already come in.

Danzo—Hokage's long-time "right hand"—

Had already been castrated.

His tools of crime confiscated.

If Bai Ye did the same to his sons—

Would that mean the Sarutobi bloodline would end with Konohamaru?

Hiruzen's brows furrowed deeper.

"Kakashi."

His voice was grave.

A silver-haired shinobi entered.

"Yes?"

Hiruzen took a long drag from his pipe.

"If you fought Uchiha Bai Ye… how would you compare?"

Kakashi remained silent for a moment.

Then—

His lone eye fixed on the Third Hokage.

"Lord Hokage… please don't joke."

"Even ten of me wouldn't be enough."

Sarutobi's grip on his pipe tightened.

The measurement unit of Five-Five Kakashi had spoken—

And even he admitted complete defeat.

Kakashi didn't wait for another question.

With a brief nod, he turned and walked out, leaving the Hokage alone in silent contemplation.

That night—

Bai Ye enjoyed the company of the mother of the two Children of Destiny.

Meanwhile—

A message spread throughout Konoha.

---

"Tomorrow—

The Uchiha Police Force will hold a public trial in Konoha's Central Square!"

Interrogated:

Shimura Danzo

Sarutobi Shinnosuke

Sarutobi Asuma

Fourth Raikage of Kumogakure

A declaration of war.

The storm was coming.
