BeepBeepBeep
Peter woke up with a headache. He quickly stood up, still half asleep, and went to the bathroom. However, when he reached the sink, he tried on his glasses but noticed that his vision was clear without the glasses.
Staring at his hand, he backed off in fright and looked at the mirror. His previously frail, thin body was now covered in thick muscles.
Peter touched his face and mumbled, "W-What? What the hell happened to me?"
He reached for his glasses, but as soon as he held them, the glasses broke in two. Panicked, he dropped the glasses and tried to wash his face with water, but as he turned on the faucet, the handle broke and water sprayed all over.
"Ahh!"
Peter's scream was heard throughout the house, and Aunt May and Richard heard the scream as they walked past Peter's room.
"Everything okay, Pete?"
Aunt May knocked on the door and was quickly answered,
"Yeah! Everything's fine, Aunt May!"
Aunt May looked down at Richard and shrugged. She walked down the stairs and said to Richard, "Let's go down and eat breakfast, sweetie."
"Alright, I'll be there, Mom!"
However, Richard looked at Peter's door and opened it. The door creaked as Richard took a peek and saw Peter getting dressed.
Richard opened the door wide and gasped, "You got muscles?!"
Richard looked at Peter in awe, as he had never seen Peter with muscles, not even the slightest hint of one. Since childhood, Peter had always had a small, frail body. He had tried working out, but it would only last a few days because he was busy with his studies.
Startled, Peter quickly dressed up. "W-What are you doing here, champ?"
Richard ignored him and instead jumped around excitedly. "How did you do it, big bro Pete?! I could have sworn you were skinny yesterday!"
Peter chuckled dryly and tried to brush it off. "W-What are you talking about? I've always had this body."
He placed his hand behind Richard, trying to push him out of the room, but as Richard stepped out and Peter tried to pull his hand back, it wouldn't budge.
"Ow! What the heck, big bro Pete?"
As Peter tried to tug away his hand, the shirt that was stuck to his palm accidentally choked Richard.
"S-Sorry!"
Richard turned around and saw Peter's hand stuck on his shirt. Instead of being angry, Richard jumped in delight, his eyes sparkling. "No way! Do you have superpowers?!"
Peter chuckled nervously. "Now why would you think that? It could just be glue, you know…"
Richard shook his head. "No way! You totally got superpowers! You suddenly got buff, and now this?!"
Peter sighed and dragged him inside before closing the door. "Listen, champ, don't tell anyone, okay? This will be our little secret…"
Richard nodded. "Alright! So cool~" After fantasizing about being a superhero, he continued, "What happened anyway? How did you suddenly get powers?"
"I don't know… I just…" As he was about to answer, Peter suddenly realized something. He walked toward his desk, accidentally dragging Richard once again.
"Ha… Sorry, champ."
On the desk was the jar with the spider inside. The spider was currently sleeping, having finished the food Peter had given it last night.
The two stared at the spider, and Richard asked, "No way… Is this how you got your powers?"
"I-I guess so?"
Peter grabbed his backpack and put something inside it. "Come on, champ. Let's go outside and try stuff out."
As soon as he said that, the hand that was still on Richard's shirt finally let go, making the two sigh in relief.
They quickly made their way outside the room and down the stairs. When they reached the down stairs, they were greeted by Uncle Ben and Aunt May.
"Morning, you two. Come on, let's eat," offered Aunt May.
Aunt May was placing food on the table while Uncle Ben was reading a newspaper. The headline read, "Wilson Grant Fisk Donates 10 Million Dollars to Orphanage Once Again!"
"We'll eat later, Mom!" yelled Richard as he tried to leave the house.
He was quickly stopped by Peter, who grabbed him by the collar. "Aunt May cooked for us. Don't be like that."
Richard frowned. "Fine~"
The two sat down, and Uncle Ben asked Peter, "Don't you have an interview today?"
Peter chuckled. "Not today, Uncle Ben. Today is Sunday. King Tech is closed. I have an interview tomorrow."
Ben chuckled too and continued, "What will you be doing at King Tech?"
"It's just an entry-level job, for experience, you know."
Richard took a bite of his sausage and spoke, "But what will you be doing?"
"Don't speak when your mouth is full, young man!" Aunt May quickly scolded Richard.
"Sorry, Mom…"
Peter chuckled, then continued, "I'll just be helping out in the lab. I can't work full-time yet because I'm underage and still in high school."
