Chapter 20 - Revelation for Sera

She took a deep breath. To think that her brother had had such unbelievable experiences—living in a world of technology called Earth, with a whole set of life experiences on its own. Not to mention, to think that he had lived there 16 years before coming back to this world.

It was so convoluted, yet so terrifying.

It made Seraphina feel an intense feeling of unwillingness.

Why did he have to do that?!

She had always lived close to Ryan. They were twins. Their life experiences were always connected to each other. If something happened to one of them, both of them would be part of that story.

Their life was a shared life.

They never even lived in different houses.

Why did he have to live a life without her?

Ryan had lived an entire life without her knowledge, without her part in it. He had started living his own individual story—whereas she was here. She became even more unwilling.

Why did he have to do this?

Would he still consider her as close as she considered him?

How could he?

She became even more conflicted at the thought.

At least, I want to see all his memories.

"Sera, calm down…" he said.

"Shut up. Open up that barrier in your mind and reveal all your secrets. Now."

"...No"

"Do you want to be beat up?"

Ryan became speechless. He had so many embarrassing memories. How can he show it all to her?

"Absolutely no. Even if you torture me—"

She smiled. She had such pretty teeth for a devil.

"It's been a while since I tickled you, hasn't it?"

Ryan became wary.

A wind slowly picked up around him and began to tickle him.

"Wait! Wait! You bitch, mom won't stand for this—"

She smirked.

He laughed despite himself.

Ha.

Hahahah.

Huhuhuhuh.

Wait.

Hahahah.

A few minutes later.

'You will pay for this, this is not consensual!'

'Open up. I am interested in this place called Earth.'

'I hate you, you bitch, I am saying this, just you wait till I am stronger than you!'

Seraphina sneered. 'Yeah, I will wait. Now open up or I am going to tickle you for an hour straight.'

Ryan had no other way than to let her be. Seraphina entered his head and began watching his memories with rapt attention.

For several hours, Ryan was forced to stand in the middle of the pig slaughter house. The place had a terrible stench, but with a simple Mana Art, Seraphina kept the stench away from them. Even the mosquitoes couldn't trouble them.

She also helped Ryan clean the blood of the pig he killed.

And thus, they simply sat on a haystack and Sera rolled through his memories one by one. Meanwhile, he—feeling defeated—also read her memories.

When they were really young, Ryan used to be a crybaby. Always bullied by other princes and princesses for how clumsy he was. And he would go tell his sister when he got too sad, and she would always beat up the bullies for him.

Damn, I was never a crybaby. What a bunch of fake memories.

He sniffed.

They would always go bath together. Brush together. Play together. Sleep together. Live together 24/7. He was practically his big sister's tail and she was always the head.

Why was I not the leader of the party?

Tsk.

But as they grew up, they began having to live separately. She awakened as a Mage and Martial Artist while he awakened as nothing—thus, while she trained, he would have to watch. Watching her train while he couldn't train at all caused painful feelings. Thus, for the first time in his life, he no longer remained her tail.

He left her shadow.

But that only made his life worse.

Low self esteem, isolation. In fact, he had also blamed his sister's talent—subconsciously or otherwise.

And when he was doing nothing and lazing around, what was his sister doing?

She was working hard.

She was blaming herself.

She could have chosen a hundred other, better Sub-classes than Soul Mage after level 10. But did she do that? NO.

Why did she obsess over the soul?

Because she believed she hurt her little brother.

Ryan hugged Seraphina close to his chest.

Now I feel guilty, he thought. What a weird sister I have.

She smiled, pressing her face against his chest as she immersed herself in his memories.

Life on earth, watching anime, getting rejected after the first confession—and crippling self hatred. Loathing. Ryan—no, Max—would look at his own average looks and wish to tear apart his face.

Dang. Sera thought. He is an idiot.

But the world of Earth fascinated her. She focused on his early life memories. Grade school, middle school, high school. He was not a brilliant student but he had been taught most of the basic education well.

All things said and done, her brother had raw intelligence—he just lacked the proper mindset.

The memories shifted to another one.

His first mastrubation.

She blushed.

What an idiot.

And then shifted to another memory.

Soon, she had watched the whole sixteen years of Ryan's life on Earth.

When they finally stopped watching each other's memories—both of them had teary eyes. But soon enough, they both wiped their faces and began stretching their bodies.

The feeling of being known entirely by someone else—having nothing to hide—was much, much better than the feeling of evolving.

It made them both feel refreshed as if they had woken up from a long slumber.

"It's already night," Ryan complained. "All because you were distracted."

"So what?"

"So what? Those were precious hours I could have used for training."

"Oh shut up, you were planning to go bed that pretty maid of yours again."

He blushed. "This is a breach of privacy!"

"Not like you bothered breaching into mine, right?" She sneered, giving his butt a kick. "I knew you were a lost cause when it came to lust, but now I know that you are much worse than that."
