Chapter 2 - 2. The Video

A week later, as Shan ascended the elevator and stepped into the department, he was met with an unusual sight, his co-workers were huddled around the notice board, their expressions a mix of shock and curiosity. Intrigued, Shan maneuvered through the crowd, only to find his name prominently displayed on a 'Notice of Transfer' statement, indicating he would be relocated to the countryside.

A surge of anger coursed through him. He stormed toward the Team Leader's office, only to find Ingrid absent, leaving her assistant, Mei Yoo Jun, startled by the sudden intrusion. "Ms. Yoo Jun, where is Ms. Mikage?" he demanded. "She went for a meeting in a restaurant," Mei replied, her voice trembling slightly. Without hesitation, Shan requested the address of the restaurant.

Meanwhile, in the restaurant, Ingrid sat across from the chairman, Eh San Won, a 78-year-old man whose attention was divided between business and a young prostitute-in-hire. "Out of the 8.0% who have left the company, only 3.0% were recorded as involuntary, which is well within government guidelines," Ingrid stated, her voice steady. The chairman, lost in his own world, replied, "Good, good. Don't give those pathetic ants anything they can use. Besides, I prefer to be briefed directly, hehehe.... . You did well, woman. Come have a drink." He poured soju into Ingrid's teacup, and she accepted it with a polite, "Thank you, chairman."

After the meeting, Ingrid and one of the executive directors discussed Shan's transfer. "Good work. The chairman has seen your worth, and that incident will be taken care of once the transfer is complete. Besides, you don't have to worry about your promotion anymore. Congratulations on becoming the new Head Manager, Ingrid," the E.D. said, a satisfied smile on his face.

Just then, Shan entered the restaurant, and the E.D. remarked, "Perhaps we've opened the champagne too early." Ingrid turned to see Shan approaching, his expression a storm of emotions. "Ms. Mikage, why...! Why am I being transferred?!" he shouted, his voice laced with bitter rage.

"I'm not leaving until I get my fucking answer!" he demanded, his frustration palpable. Ingrid gestured for him to get into her car, and despite his confusion, he complied. "We'll talk on the way," she said, her tone firm.

As the engine roared to life and sped off, Ingrid asked, "Do you know who was in there? And why couldn't we talk about this tomorrow?" Shan shot back, "No. I'm being transferred in two days. I just don't understand. I was proven innocent! I do not deserve a disciplinary transfer!"

Ingrid abruptly stopped the car near a secluded forest, her expression serious. "A disciplinary transfer? It's nothing like that, Shan. Can't you see that this is for your own good?" she insisted. Shan raised an eyebrow, confusion mingling with anger. "What! That doesn't make any sense at all..... ."

Ingrid continued, "Did you know? Every woman in the office thinks you're a pervert." Shan's eyes widened in disbelief. "The F? Don't tell me it was about that ladies' room thing?"

"It doesn't matter," Ingrid replied, her voice steady. "What matters is that even a small misunderstanding can cause a big disaster for your reputation, and it cannot be easily earned back, Mr. Wolf."

"So what? Just throw in the towel like that?" Shan retorted, his voice rising. "Maybe, maybe not," Ingrid said. "What matters is that if this keeps up, your reputation will get worse, and you might have to quit."

"Stay away from the head office for a while until everything settles and blows over," Ingrid advised. Shan took a deep breath, his resolve hardening. "No, they're the ones who are wrong. Why in hell's name should I have to suffer the consequences?"

Ingrid raised an eyebrow at Shan's newfound determination. "I've been thinking... about those rumors of you being a pervert. They aren't false, are they?" she challenged, leaning closer, her cleavage subtly exposed. "You've been looking at my body ever since you first arrived at Headquarters."

Ingrid's voice dropped to a sultry whisper. "I'm kind of in the mood as I had a few drinks in there. Can you keep it a secret? Think of it as a parting gift." In that moment, Shan felt a primal urge awaken within him. He reached out, his hand brushing against Ingrid's right breast, desire igniting like a wildfire-like wolf as it preys on its feast in hunger.

But just as quickly, reality crashed down. Shan was met with a sharp slap across his face. "What... ." he stammered, stunned. "You pathetic brute sick-like pervert..... . You just tried to rape me, didn't you?" Ingrid accused, her voice a mix of anger and disbelief.

"But you were the one who... ," Shan began, but Ingrid cut him off. "Are you saying that I tried to seduce someone like you?" She pointed to a camera hanging from the rearview mirror. "It's all recorded. Everything you did in the car."

Shan's heart raced. "So? It has recorded you luring me into this!" he shot back. Ingrid smirked, "Oh, I don't think so. The camera is voice-activated and doesn't record sounds."

"I won't let you get away with it!" said Shan. Ingrid replied, "Oh? What are you gonna do about it, Shan Wolf? Tell everyone that I tried to seduce you?" Ingrid further upped and said, "No one is gonna believe a word you say. If this gets out, getting fired is the least of your worries. You'll likely be rejected and sent back to Malaysia with no one to hire you in other companies as well."

Ingrid's mocking tone pierced through Shan's resolve. "It will be the end of your career. So, what will it be? Take what's on the table or get sent back with a perverted reputation?"

With a dismissive wave, she ordered him out of the car. "I have nothing more to say. And I do not want to spend another second with a pervert like you." She kicked him out and drove away, leaving Shan standing in the forest, a whirlwind of emotions swirling within him.

Sighing deeply, Shan felt the weight of despair settle over him. He pulled out a pocket knife, contemplating the unthinkable. "Back to the past, I guess," he murmured, his hand trembling as he reached for his neck. "Why does everyone hate me so much? What had I done wrong? Was it a sin of my past that haunted me and now karma is given to me?" He asked himself in his mind.

As memories flooded back, Shan recalled the day as a bay. His birth mother had tried to kill him in a sacrificial ceremony to gain supernatural abilities, but failed. The police and the Vatican had intervened, and in the chaos, his mother had tossed him into a river before being shot. Miraculously, he had survived, saved by a priest in a nearby Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, but now gained the ability the turn back time. But only on his death can be used.

Just as he was about to make a fateful decision to go bqck in time and change everything, a loud crash interrupted his thoughts. He turned to see Ingrid, her car having knocked over a pregnant woman on a scooter. Panic washed over Ingrid's face as she quickly drove off and runs over the pregnant woman in hope's she stay down or dead, unaware that Shan had captured the entire scene on his smartphone, the lens focused and ready as he caught it all on video and photos as well.

In that moment, the real chaos began, setting the stage for Shan Wolf's revenge, uprising, and more. The game had changed, and he was ready to play.
