As the day turned, Count Dentis attended the wedding of Donna Avery and Gilderoy Lockhart, held at Avery Manor.
Count Dentis's arrival caused a stir among those present.
"Count, is there really no more land in the New City?"
"Count, could you spare some for our family? We can offer double the price!"
The Count waved his hand.
"Everyone, today is Miss Avery and Mr. Lockhart's big day. Please refrain from this. We should offer our blessings to the newlyweds!
As for the New City, please be patient. This is just the first phase of construction; there will be a second and a third. If you are interested in the New City, please pay close attention. Thank you!"
With the Count's promise, the guests gradually calmed down, awaiting the appearance of the bride and groom.
The Count watched as Gilderoy Lockhart walked out with a stiff expression.
His face clearly showed that he had just received treatment at St. Mungo's, and his muscles hadn't recovered from the effects of the medication.
The Count smiled and looked expectantly toward the entrance of the wedding venue.
As Donna Avery's father led her out, the Count almost laughed out loud.
It was supposed to be her joyous day, but her face showed no joy at all. On the contrary, she looked worried and terrified.
The Count nodded. It seemed Donna Avery had received his warning loud and clear.
In the box he sent was the head of the assassin Archie, and a hand of John Flint. The ring on that hand was very conspicuous, and he believed Donna Avery wouldn't mistake it.
Terrorism may be despicable, but it's effective.
For people like Donna Avery, using it occasionally could bring him some peace.
Well, he just needed to hold on until Lockhart was imprisoned.
Although Hogwarts was safe, he still had to go out for competitions, and he didn't want to constantly guard against sneak attacks that could come from anywhere.
The Count looked at the groom again and saw that Gilderoy Lockhart's eyes were filled with resentment as he looked at Donna Avery.
This wouldn't do, the Count thought. After the ceremony, he should have a good talk with Mr. Lockhart about the principle of 'A small impatience spoils great plans.'
What's a moment of grievance? Mr. Lockhart's goal should be the entire Avery family's fortune! You should smile at Donna! Just like when you won the Most Charming Smile Award—smile!
Dana didn't accept Mrs. Weasley's invitation, and a big reason was that he didn't want to go to Diagon Alley with Harry and the others.
Now he was alone in Diagon Alley, purchasing the things he needed for his second year—quietly and efficiently.
"Dana!"
Hannah Abbott called out to him.
Dana turned around and saw the girl waving at him in front of the pet store.
"What a coincidence, Hannah."
Hannah nodded.
"Yes, what a coincidence. I'm here to help my uncle buy some owl feed—your silver hair is too easy to recognize. I saw you from a distance."
Hannah was as friendly as ever. Even though he had been almost isolated by the entire school last year, Hannah would still smile and greet him when she saw him.
"It's been a summer since we last met, Hannah. Why didn't you write to me?"
"You didn't write to me either!"
Hannah said with a smile.
"But I know you're busy—the youngest MVP in history. You're really amazing!
Actually, I originally wanted to write to you, but I thought you had many fans, and my letter might not make you happy, and might even increase your workload—so I didn't write."
This girl is really good.
She gives you warmth when you're down but doesn't ask for anything in return when you're soaring, silently staying away.
"Hannah, now that the Wizarding New City is so popular, hasn't your uncle thought about opening a branch of the Leaky Cauldron there?"
"Dana, you're really joking! The Wizarding New City is so expensive, my uncle can't afford to buy a large enough piece of land there—if we sell everything we have, maybe we could scrape together enough for a bar counter?"
"Our family has already bought dozens of acres of land in the New City! My dad is going to build a big house there!"
After getting off the Hogwarts Express, Draco Malfoy bragged to the Slytherin students.
Goyle and Crabbe were a little bored behind him because Draco had been talking about this topic ever since they got on the train, although it was a very impressive thing.
"Wow! Your dad is so awesome! My dad asked a lot of people for favors and only managed to buy a piece of land along the street in the New City, enough to build a storefront—how did your dad do it?"
"Hahaha,"
Draco was extremely proud. He liked these little partners who would praise him. He glanced at the two dazed "bodyguards" behind him and shook his head slightly.
"My dad and Count Dentis are very good friends! Count Dentis even told me to call him uncle! With this relationship, it would be strange if we couldn't buy such a large piece of land!"
"Wow…"
"Wow!"
"Malfoy, you must introduce me to the Count next time! I heard he's extremely handsome!"
"Malfoy, me too!"
Draco was smug, but he saw Dana Emrys getting off the train and walking alone toward the Thestral carriages.
"Hey! Azkaban escapee!"
Draco shouted.
"You played well this summer. My dad is about to buy the Tutshill Tornados team. Why don't you come play for my dad's team? Isn't that a hundred times better than playing for that rotten team, the Chudley Cannons?"
Dana only glanced at him and walked away on his own.
This made Draco Malfoy jump up and down in anger.
"Damn it! Isn't he just a lousy ball player? What's he acting so high and mighty for! No matter how well you play, can you buy an apartment in the New City???"
Dana rolled his eyes upwards, hidden from the others.
Do you know who you're talking to right now?
Little nephew.
"Malfoy,"
Dana said as he walked forward.
"The Chudley Cannons, which I'm currently on, is the property of your Uncle Dentis. Is it really okay for you to poach players from the Cannons like this?"
Draco's mouth dropped open, and after a few seconds, he quickly covered it with his hand.
Oops, he got too carried away.
Dana climbed into a carriage.
There was no one else in the carriage. He moved in and sat in the innermost seat.
Little wizards kept opening the carriage door, looking inside for only a moment, then nodding and smiling as they left—although Dana was very famous, and the Ministry of Magic had come forward to prove Dana's innocence, the word Azkaban still made the little wizards hesitate.
"Yo, Dana!"
Fred suddenly jumped into the carriage, followed by George. He shouted to the back:
"Lee! Come on, there's a seat here, and Dana's here too!"
Lee Jordan grabbed the doorframe and climbed in.
"Ah! Dana, long time no see… no, I've watched several of your games, I've seen you several times, but you haven't seen me!"
"Haha, you know Lee's nervous when he starts rambling!"
"Shut up, George,"
Lee said with a smile.
"Anyone who's watched Dana's games will like him! Dana, can you give me an autograph? Preferably a custom one!
It's only a matter of time before you become a world-class superstar. With your autograph, I might be able to trade it for a small apartment when the New City is built!"
Fred and George gave him a disgusted look:
"What's so good about that New City! It's under construction all day long, making the whole valley smoggy. It's scaring our chickens to death!"
